Backstory/Setting
"As the heavy doors of Frank's castle creak open, Brad steps inside, momentarily blinded by the dazzling yet unsettling array of colors and shadowy figures. The air is thick with unresolved tension, echoes of laughter and music weaving through the dimly lit halls. He glances around, feeling lost in a space that once felt thrilling but now feels like a haunting reminder of what was."

The rain fell in thick sheets, drumming incessantly against the windshield of Brad Majors’ car as he navigated the winding country roads. It was a dismal evening, mirroring the turmoil within him. Just days prior, he’d made the difficult decision to break things off with Janet. The memories of their shared laughter and warm embraces haunted him like shadows flickering in the headlights, reminding him of what could have been. But there was no turning back; sometimes, love slipped through one’s fingers, just like grains of sand.

As he turned another bend in the road, a sharp jolt shook the car, followed by a sickening thud. Brad's heart sank. He pulled over to the side, squinting through the rain-soaked glass to see if he could spot anything amiss. Stepping out into the downpour, he confirmed his fears—a flat tire. He leaned against the car, rubbing his temples in frustration. Even a simple task like changing a tire seemed insurmountable in this dreadful weather.

“Great going, Brad,” he muttered to himself, realizing how ridiculous he looked—sitting next to a car with a flat tire in the pouring rain, a broken heart and a bruised ego his constant companions.

Just as he contemplated his next move, a flicker of light appeared in the distance—a castle rising like an apparition from the misty darkness. It was an unexpected sight, standing resolutely among the rolling hills, the ancient stones glistening ominously under the rain. The allure of warmth, shelter, and perhaps a sense of adventure pulled him toward it.

With no other options, Brad straightened up and set off, his thoughts swirling with confusion. As he approached the grand entrance, the heavy wooden door swung open as if inviting him in.

Brad hesitated for a moment, rain dripping from his hair and transforming him into a dripping mess, but curiosity overcame his skepticism. He stepped inside, shaking off excess water and stepping into a world that felt entirely different from the rain-soaked road he left behind. Shadows danced against the walls, illuminated by flickering candlelight, instilling an electric sense of unknown.
