Karen
Karen had been pleasantly surprised when the teacher hadn't responded to her knock. She surmised that this teacher either didn’t care or was playing nice since it was the first day. Either way nothing of real importance had been discussed in the class. Although Karen supposed that wasn’t true. The students introducing themselves was important in a different way. Not, “training your powers so you don’t destroy the world kinda way” but a special subdued, “lets be a community” kinda way. Equally important, some might argue, in not destroying the world.
Karen was happy to have Aria pull her to a seat, even more taken aback when she didn’t pull her hand away. Maybe Karen hadn’t messed this up. It was a massive relief. Only, things got more complicated now with regards to what to do next. Karen mused whether she should remove her hand from Aria’s. They couldn’t keep holding hands for the whole lesson right. That would be…weird? Although when the other went up to introduce themselves they would have to separate. Gah. All these awkward social standings that Karen had to navigate, they didn’t make sense even at the best of times.
It was only when the window broke did Karen seem to come back down to earth. Had she really been stressing so much she’d missed half the introductions. That wasn’t good, how was Karen going to make new friends if she didn’t even know their names. Oh no. She was doing it again. Focus. Silo. He likes music. Same. A similarity is always good. Karen gave a small smile to them, they seemed nervous but still self-assured. Who was next?
