Trying this again! Hi all, I'm Ritz! I'm 27, from Canada (EST) and go by any pronouns. It's been a very long time since I made a post on a forum- I've been a Discord only roleplayer for a while now- but I'm excited to get back into it!

About me-
  • I'm a literate multi-paragraph (not novella) writer with an erratic posting schedule- sometimes I'll be able to do multiple in a day, sometimes it'll take me over a week to write one. I can offer you total patience with your own post speed, and all i ask for is patience in return! Even when I don't have time to sit down and write a reply, I'm always active OOC. I'm looking for someone who writes around the same amount as me and is literate but not hyper-hardcore about it (is "lazy lit" still a thing?).
  • I write in third person, past tense, as a default. I can be flexible with the tense but I won't write in first person, or write with someone who writes in first person.
  • Male characters are my favourite to play, and most of my ideas involve me playing the man, but I'm also very capable of and open to plots that involve me playing a woman. M/F is my favourite pairing, and the one I have the most ideas for, but I'm totally open to hearing M/M and F/F plot ideas. I also have a major soft spot for M/M/F poly romance.
  • I can do mild nsfw- not a lot of detail- or fade to black. I am happy to write sex but I don't like to write porn.
  • Sometimes I use pre-made characters in plots, sometimes I make up someone entirely new, and sometimes I tailor an existing character "skeleton" to a plot. I don't mind which one you do as long as you're willing to put in the effort to play a character that fits the world! Some of my characters will have IRL faceclaims, but most won't. I usually prefer describing my characters' appearance. I don't mind if all your characters have IRL faceclaims as long as you don't force me to use them as well! Art is also fine, but please no anime.
  • I've included a list of plot ideas as well as a list of general concepts, tropes, and other things I like! If none of the plots appeal to you, but you've got ideas of your own that include some of the stuff I like, please do contact me anyway!
  • I don't expect you to have extensive knowledge on the historical eras I'm interested in before you contact me. All I ask is, if you're going to do a historical rp with me, be willing to learn- because I am very willing to teach you!
  • Discord handle available upon request!
Now, on to the plotting!:
  • Settings I love- historical! Historical adventure, romance, slice-of-life, in almost any time period from 1970s back. The only ones that are a slightly harder sell for me are medieval and Victorian (I overdosed on those a bit in my younger roleplaying days and haven't quite recovered yet). Write some Canadian historical settings with me and I'll love you forever and ever. I also have a fascination with historical RPF, so ask me about playing your favourite old dead guy. Post-apocalyptic! Especially if the apocalypse is a mundane one. Gimme climate collapse, disease, anarchy, maybe nuclear war- not so big on zombies, though. Hard Sci-fi! I take a lot of inspiration from old sci-fi novels from the 40s to 70s. Others- weird fantasy, sci-fantasy, dimension-hopping, time travel, mythical/folklore/fairytale fantasy.
  • Things I love- redemption, second chances, optimism in dark and gritty worlds, culture clash, culture exchange, exploration, wilderness, swashbuckling adventures, ordinary adventures, hurt/comfort, roles reversed, roles played straight, music and musicians, artists, nomads and travellers, old men, big age gaps, small age gaps, babies ever after, strong women, teachers and students, masters and apprentices, class differences, romanticized mundane things.
  • I do not write modern settings, toxic/abusive relationships as the main pairing, or bleak/depressing endings. Beyond that, anything is possible!
Current IDEAS (all have more details available upon request!)---

1910s - a wealthy city girl falls for the bohemian painter who is briefly renting a studio space owned by her parents.

1500s - the life and adventures of an intrepid coureur des bois and his Algonquin wife in the backwoods of colonial-era Canada.

1600s - an older fille du roi, just arrived in the colony of New France, gets involved with the one man she ought to avoid- a washed-up voyageur, unwillingly retired after an injury.

1960s - two university boys, a folk-singing duo, invite a talented female classmate to join them, and she finds herself falling for both of them.

1600s/early 1700s - a travelling Scottish bard seeks shelter for the night in the home of a wealthy English family, and becomes entangled with the lord's eldest daughter.

1950s-70s - a lone woman picks up a hitchhiker with a guitar on his back and is drawn into his carefree wandering existence.

1940s-60s - A wealthy woman running from something arrives to spend the summer at a remote fishing resort, and becomes enamoured with the simple life... and one of the guides working there.

1800s- During a long cattle drive, a grizzled old cowboy and the boss's jealously guarded wife begin a dangerous affair.
