  The old school building had been built in the late 1800s, and it had stood the test of time.
  
  Until, well, it didn't.
  
  News of the storm caused little panic. How many times had it been hit before, only to stay standing? How many times had their town been hit before, only to stay standing? When the storm worsened, it was an obvious safe haven to those left inside, and to some families that gathered at its doors, seeking refuge like they had in the past.
  
  And how would they know that maintenance on Cape Verona High had been skipped due to a lack of funding, until the school came crumbling down on them?
  
  Some survived, some didn't. Those that did were pulled from the rubble, and given a couple weeks off from school and work following such a disaster.
  
  Once it was time to go back, Ventosa Bluffs welcomed the displaced students with open arms. Many were mad given the faltering relations between the two towns, but who were they to bite the only hand reaching out to help them?
  
  Some whispered that Ventosa Bluff had only offered they're assistance to obtain the rights to Cape Verona's beaches, something they'd been after for years... but surely that wasn't the case, in the aftermath of tragedy.

  Hello! So Rising Tides is an rp that follows the aftermath of a hurricane after it hits the coastal town of Cape Verona. We'll be mainly following a grief support group from the Cape Verona high school along with fellow peers from both schools, but there will also be room for parents and other adults to make appearances and contribute to the plot.
  
  Although it's not super common knowledge (yet, wink wink), Cape Verona has been hurting for cash following the downfall of their coastal tourism industry. The city still makes some money from fishing, but not a lot. And to cut some corners, well... maybe the school was let in some disrepair, which ultimately led to the disaster that leads to this roleplay.
  
  Ventosa Bluff is a richer, more industrial mountain town that's been after Cape Verona's coastline for years. With the faltering of their school and how hard they were hit, well... of course Ventosa Bluff moves in, offering to assist Cape Verona in their repair.
  
  So yeah, this rp will cover a few different things. The aftermath of tragedy, an industrial town trying to take over, and Cape Verona trying to hold out.
