Realistic or Modern Rewind OOC

OOC-CS-IC
On Saturday Sepbember 1st of 2007, several former students of Greensville Junior High experienced a temporal anomaly that many might call 'A glitch in the Matrix'. Their thoughts, feelings, and memories of the next ten years to come slid backwards in time to the world they inhabited in middle school, each traveler maintaining the body they had as an adolescent. Many of them had been preparing to finish college in 2017, and had suddenly slid backwards ten years to September 1st 2007. For these students, class would begin on Monday September 3rd. These students would find themselves unable to convince their friends and families of what had happened. For some this was a blessing, for others, a curse.

Greensville is a fictional town of roughly 10,000 people in central Ohio (USA). The town is home to a wide range of ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds; and the town has everything you'd expect an average american town of that size to have.

Rules:
1. No godmodding/Mary sues/Gary stus.
2. No controlling other people's characters.
3. Be active. Since I plan for 1 day in the real world to represent 1 day in the RP, and we have a lot of people (on the interest check), we cannot wait around. If someone becomes inactive then we just assume their character is not presently doing anything noteworthy. Posting once per day noting your characters' activities is often sufficient. If you want to have extended conversations with lots of responses inside the same day, orchestrate it on the OOC and plan ahead.
4. Because of the nature of the story; how the time travel takes every character from one specific point in the future to one specific point in the past, you cannot join this RP late, or create another time-traveler character.

[I'll make this fancy later. IC coming soon. We haven't started yet, so don't worry about timing.]

If what you're asking is if we're going to rp the day before they regress back in time; I think we should.

JadeGreen17 JadeGreen17 I was thinking the day previous to the time regression could be included in the intro and we start off the role play when they've regressed back. Also, should we use realistic or drawn face claims for our characters? Or just descriptions?

Oh yes. Night of sept 1st 2017 warp zone to morning of sept 1st 2007.

Also you can just describe your character, or use a photographed or drawn face.

I may be at a disadvantage when it comes to the inactivity part! I can gurantee that I'm definitely capable of posting several times per day, but it is my timezone that's going to give me a bit of an issue carrying out this RP. For reference, it is now at 1AM (GMT+8) on my side of the world!

On weekdays, I'm able to be online around 6.30am - 1pm Greenwich Mean Time (GMT); on weekends, 11pm until 11am (GMT). The only times when my weekdays will follow the same time as my weekends is when I obtain a week long holiday after school exam, which is spookily from Friday the 13th to Sunday the 22nd this October. I've yet to know just when will I get my even bigger, 2 month long end year school break, but it is usually 1 or 2 weeks after the exam week break.

I very dearly hope my real life predicament doesn't affect my RPing and participation in this RP. It sadly might will, but I am determined to make it work.

In like fashion, I adore the premise but I have an 18 month old kid, a full time job and a house under construction. I'm usually up for posting daily or every other day but if each RL day = 1 day in the RP, it's probably going to be impossible to have any real back-and-forth conversation with anyone without some real timey wimey shenanigans. If that level of activity is an issue, let me know, no hard feelings. I don't want to set anyone up (including our host) for frustration.

Posting once per day is probably sufficent. (After all I have college, work, classes to teach and my own life to get to.) If your posts were akin to journal entries cataloging what happened during that day. I'm just asking that people don't vanish for more than a day or two. (especially if there are other posts held up needing a response from them).

For conversations and stuff that requires a lot of back and fourth perhaps our characters could wind up talking primarily texting one another (probably on a flip phone though, this was 10 years ago, after all.) or possibly after discovering they're all time travelers, and interaction between PCs becomes more common, they start an IRC or chatroom or something together; helping to explain in story, the possibly quite long lag between responses in conversations between characters.

Only those of us that are willing and able to have an 'IRL' back and fourth conversation with several responses inside the same day; preparing to do so in advance on the OOC and scheduling an approximate time to have the rapid convo. To me that seems like a fair compromise, and would allow everyone to participate in some manner even if they can't everyday, and I'd prefer not to feel like I'm excluding anyone while also ensuring that it doesn't take us weeks to get through a single day.

This I can gurantee to commit and do! Though I can't gurantee being able to log on every single day as internet and electricity aren't so great here to say the least. It'll probably just be a weekly or monthly occasion, of course

Alright. I'm not starting just yet. We had a lot of people on the IC, want to wait for more of them to get a chance to filter in...

Whoopsies, just found this.
EDIT actually, I take that back, I had this on my watch list but was never notified of all the replies o.o must'a did a "quickie" in findin' all the rp content for this hmmm

Hnnnnng...
Regarding number 3... I will not be bothered/annoyed/etc. if a RP-er drags my character along or leaves them to die in the forest while I am inactive (it's what one gets and should expect if they're not able to post in the RP Master's specifications). I will attempt activity, but I cannot promise an every single day type of escapade. However, I will not vanish and my activity tends to be 2-3 days tops if I am in a RP (weekends are my best friends so there's those days too).

WolfSol WolfSol This isn't that kind of RP. So far as I know there shouldn't be any violence, death and leaving people for dead (but you never know how things could develop... ) The more I think about it, the 'post everyday' isn't really even a hard and fast rule. I'm more just informing yall that time passes on a 1:1 ratio and you should be active otherwise days could pass without you doing anything.

I'm gonna get my own CS up soon.

I always figure it's best to cover all the bases (I would hope my character doesn't die, I was brain dead while conjuring her up). For some, being active daily may be an easy task, but for others... not so much. We are all special potatoes after all. Either way, I will attempt. I am usually decent at replying to content if I have it set up to email me (like this, finally put this on my email notifications why I didn't do that before? Nnnnnnnoooooo idea, probably because I'm a forgetful idiot sometimes).

Yay, can't wait to try this all out :D

Popular kid who realized popularity is pointless?

Supernatural-obsessed weird kid would be an interesting thing to play given the nature of the rp.

Someone who was permanently injured physically by an event that happened around this time in their life. "Carol didn't wear her safety goggles; now she doesn't have to" kind of thing?

Good lord that last one...

But you've given me a great idea~

I'm curious... I know they are all going to notice the differences in behavior from the others but are they going to be able to discuss that among themselves?

My idea was that eventually they would, though maybe not right away. It would honestly depend on the character of whoever came out first and tried to convince the others of what happened to them with no regard whether they sounded crazy or not.
