A very serious and hard-working young man. Who is also good at cooking, kind, athletic and helps with house and farm work. He is also very popular with the girls. Though he doesn't have a girlfriend yet since he is often too busy to be in a relationship with someone. However, he did have one or two in the past but ends up with the other party breaking it off with him since he was just 'too busy' to pay attention to them. Ever since both his parents died in a car accident(oh, the cliché) Kaede became both the father and mother figure of his two siblings: Mamoru (12) and Nagisa (12). As much as Kaede wanted to go to college to study to become a architect one day he couldn't since he has his family to think about.

Kaede seemed to be a loner for the most part. In the 19 years of his life he only manages to make 1 or 2 friends one being his childhood friend, Chiru, yet he is seldom normally seen socializing with them. This could be because Kaede is shy, but is too proud to even admit it.

?Daichiru is a countryside boy and very hardworking when it comes with his ambitions. He was really fat back then and,


because of that he only got a few friends and always been picking on. There he got Shiratoya, his best friend who support


him, in his goal to be a celebrity. He didn't expect that he will make it and that's why he move out. It's been 5 years now


that, he hasn't visited his place, but one thing for sure, if he got a month to take vacation, he will choose the place


when he wasn't a celebrity yet since he need a peaceful life and some fresh air.

It was a sunny day in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Although it is already summer, the weather was still cold and humid. The Shiratoya twins, Mamoru and Nagisa, had been out in the city grocery shopping with thier older brother Shiratoya Kaede. It was a beautiful sunday morning with clear weather along with a nice summer breeze to go with it. Kaede thought it would be a waste to stay cooped up indoors so what better way to spend this day than to go out shopping? The twins were already old enough and are going to be 7th Graders soon--Ah, how time flies--so teaching them to become responsible adults were as good as time as any, Kaede thought.


As the Shiratoya siblings wonder around the shopping district, the twins got distracted by a dog behind a glass window wagging its tail at them while looking cute, while Kaede was busy bargaining for meat at local meat shop.





"Say, Na-chan, let's ask nii-chan to buy us this puppy." Mamoru started as he pressed his face at the glass window. "You'd think nii-chan would let us?" the younger twin asked his oldest twin.


Nagisa who was also enticed with the puppy before her saddly shook her head at her younger twin brother, knowing all too well that Kaede wouldn't agree to it. "Big brother would just say 'no'." she sighed dejectedly. "And besides, we don't have the money for it." She sighed again.


Mamoru sighed along with his sister knowing all too well that the problem wasn't about who was going to take care of it but how they were going to pay for it. Ah, it's really rough when you live in poverty. Then a sudden jingle of an ice cream vendor suddenly envaded their thoughts. It gave both twins a bright smile on their faces. They might not be able to afford buying and taking care of a puppy but at the very least they can afford to buy ice cream. Both of them turn their heads to the direction where they both last saw their bother and said in unision. "Onii-chan! Buy us ice cream!"





No responds.


The twins looked everywhere from each corner of the area they were in but still no Kaede to be found. Did he somehow not realized that the twins weren't with him? This wasn't good. Both twins weren't really very familiar with the area and only came here like once or twice a month. And they don't even have cellphones! This was really bad. This really is bad.





"...Onii-chan?"

Daichiru went to Haneda Airport to fly from Tokyo to Hokkaido and it only takes him 1 hour and a half to get to the Chitose Airport. Some of the people knew him and wanted to take a picture with him taking 30 minutes as he went to Odori park before going to his old hometown again.


The old house was still intact since their relatives always visit there once in 2 weeks, but entering it makes him remember a lot of fun and pain memories. He sighs and explore the house as he takes his bag in his old room.


After exploring the house, he noticed that he need to buy some groceries and instead of taking a cab or a bus he decided to walk. He needs some fresh air anyway, so why not walk, as he went in the shopping district wearing a nerd glasses, black baseball cap, panda shirt and a black sweat shorts.


He looked around and saw an ice cream cart "Hmmm...strawberry and caramel ice cream~" he mummbles while walking towards the ice cream cart and paused feeling that he bump on something as he looked down. It was a two kids that look like in trouble "are they lost?" he thought as he looked at them and smiled since he wanted to show that he's a good guy and not some pedophile.


"Are you guys lost?"

Both twins turn to face a strange looking guy with a panda sweater and weird looking thick-framed glasses. Both of them took a step back--remembering about what their older brother told them about strangers--and held hands.


"What should we do, Na-chan?" Mamoru asked Nagisa as he whispered to her.





"I think we should wait her for onii-chan to find us." Nagisa suggested to Mamoru.


Both twins then looked back to Daichiru suspiciously then back to each other.





"But what are we going to do with 'this' guy, Na-chan? He looks unreliable." Mamoru whispered to Nagisa.





"Yeah, it looks like he is the one who is lost. Should we help him instead?" Nagisa commented as she glanced to Daichiru. "Onii-chan, are you lost as well? Do you want to go to police station with us?" Nagisa asked Daichiru.





"We are going there as well." Mamoru added to what Nagisa said to Daichiru.

Daichiru felt really downhearted when he saw the twin step back, he sighs and was surprised by the sudden question, making him feel that his soul gone off without him. "Does my face really looked unreliable?" he thought while looking at the twins.


Daichiru then stands up straight as he looked at the two "so they really are lost, but I'm impressed they really are some smart kids" he thought while smiling that, kids this day really is reliable on their own. "I bet their parents are so proud of them" he thought again, sighing a bit depress since his father and him, don't have a good relationship.


He then shakes his head to not think about it as he looked at the two "Yes! I'm lost" he said acting it, since he wanted to walk the twin to the police station safe and let the police handle it. "You see, I can't find my way home and I really need a police, thank God I found you two" he said acting, terrified.


Arching his back a bit, he then saw the ice cream cart again as he point it with his right index finger "But, first, let's buy some ice cream~" he said, since he wanted to taste the strawberry and caramel ice cream flavor, cause it might go off soon enough.


"Ice cream~ Ice cream" as he is waving at the ice cream man, like some sort of a kid.

The twins looked up at Daichiru then to each other with a rather troubled expression on their faces. They wanted to have ice cream but their brother also mention to never take what a stranger offers to them. Daichiru might use that to lure them to somewhere and put something in their ice cream without them noticing and they'll be taken somewhere. Then he would ask for some ransom money from their big brother but he can't pay them because they were poor and if that happened they would never see their onii-chan again. But they wanted ice cream!


The twins squeeze each others hands tightly, unsure of what they should do.





"What do you think, Na-chan?" Mamoru asked his sister.





"I don't know, Ma-chan. 'Ka-chan'(*) might get mad." Nagisa replied to her brother.


Both then looked up to Daichiru as if they wanted to ask him what the best option is because he was older than they were. Mamoru's stomach then started to growl, a sign that he was getting hungry. Apparently they were supposedly going to eat lunch at a local family resturant after they were done shopping for food.


(*) Kaede's given nickname from the twins but is always mistaken for "mom" which Kaede didn't mind because he acts like a concern mother towards them.

Daichiru waited for them to think as he keep staring at the Ice cream cart. He then heard one of the twin's stomach growling as he looked at them. "Hey~ how about we should eat before ice cream?" he suggest, since he felt hungry too, as he looked around and saw Ebi-Ten, a fast food restaurant near the Mitsukoshi department store and point it using his right hand index finger."How about we go there?" he asked since he wanted to eat tempura Udon.


Looking at the two, he forgot to introduce his self using his real name, "My name is Daichiru" he said it with a smile "what about you two? What's your name?" he asked, and realizing he was being too cozy, they might think he was a pedophile or a kidnapper. "After we eat, we can go to the police station" he said since he doesn't want to put the two kids hungry in a police station before leaving them.


"So what do you guys say?"

The twins looked back at each other again then up to the guy who introduced himself as Daichiru, who had offered to feed them. As hungry has they were, they both were skeptical about Daichiru and his intentions.





"Are you gonna kidnap us, Mister?" Nagisa spoke first.





"You can't kidnap us because we don't have money to pay you." Mamoru added. "We're poor!"





Nagisa nodded to what Mamoru said. "Big brother said to not trust strange people because they do strange things."





"And you are strange, Mister." Mamoru said pointing to Daichiru's weird taste in clothing.

 

[Darii]

Daichiru looked at Mamoru's pointing at his clothes "My clothes?" he ask and facepalm. "This is not weird...it's a normal everyday clothes" he said as he start to imagine the photoshoot he was in, in a weird costume before leaving the tokyo "that sure is weird" he thought.


Daichiru decided to just give up talking to these kids and walked them in the police station. "Okay! Let's just go to the police station" he said, looking at the two and then the fast food restuarant.


"Hmmmm..." as he looked at some people. "Oh, then how about I left you guys in his hand?" as he pointed at the guard near the boutique store. "I'm sure he knows what to do" he said, smilingly "and plus, he doesn't look weird~" he said as he looked at the Ebi-ten again, feeling more hungry.

"You won't be staying with us, onii-chan?" Mamoru qestioned Daichiru.





"Do you have a cellphone?" Nagisa asked Daichiru as well. "Maybe we can call Ka-chan instead?" she then looked at Mamoru. "He doesn't look too bad Ma-chan." she continued, "He looks like my darling, Dairu~❤" Nagisa said hands covering her blushing cheeks. Upon taking a better look at Daichiru she had noticed a bit of similarities of him to her idol crush, Dairu.





"Oh, please. There you go again." Mamoru rolled his eyes at his sister. "Its impossible for someone who is famous as Dairu to come here in this remote town, so stop dreaming."





"But who knows? Maybe he will come here to shoot a moive and then, and then, he'll notice me watching him and then, and then, he'll sweep me off my feet and we'll get married! Kyaa~❤" Whenever Nagisa begins to talk about Dairu she will be in her own little fantasy world. Dreaming of the day she will be able to meet her prince. When Nagisa had first saw one of Daichiru's movie--the first movie of Daichiru that Kaede bought--she had been struck by cupids arrow after watching it. Ever since then she became a die hard Dair fan.


Saddly for Mamoru, all he could do was shook his head at how silly his sister was acting.

Daichuru rubs the back of his neck "uhmmmm..." he really, don't know what to say, if he's going to stay or not, but he'll be starving to death if he doesn't eat "or maybe..." as he mutters and think of something. He then looked at the two and said, "hmm...I leave you both here for a couple of minutes and I'll buy us food and then we could wait for your brother there, on that bench" pointing the bench near the guard. "Is that fine with you....guys?" Daichiru paused and looked at Nagisa's reaction in surprised. He then thought that even in this secluded town some people knew him.


"Aww, she's so cute" he said, looking at Nagisa. He then suddenly felt like he wanted to tell them, that he really was Dairu and they're just kids so why not. He looked at the two and said in a whisper voice "Hmmm I'll tell you a secret, what if I told you guys I'm really Dairu?" as he smiled at them though they might think he was joking, but he still wants them to feel comfortable around him.

Nagisa and Mamoru preferred that option better and both agreed to go with that instead. They can be able to stay where they are and wait for their brother and could get a free meal. It was like killing two birds with one stone.


The twins nodded to what Daichiru said--about staying where they were and him getting them food--they both laughed when Daichiru admitted that he was Dairu which both of them thought that he might be lying. Since someone who was as famous as Dairu would never think twice of visiting the countryside. There was absolutely no way.


"Impossible! That Dairu would never come here." Mamoru began. "Why would someone famous as him even come here in the first place. And if you are Dairu--as you so claimed why come here? Huh, Dairu? Mamoru said in a mocking tone.


"No way!!" Nagisa exclaimed. "Dairu-chan is much more cuter and does not dress like a little kid out in public! There is just no way!" Nagisa doesn't like anyone making fun of her idol Dairu no matter who they are--even Daichi himself.
