All right...to the two players left at this point, I apologize, but this game is on Hiatus, perhaps permanently. I'm not sure that I can continue this particular game, even. I may try to continue this game again later, or possible just try to start up a new one in the setting later, but right now, it's not really an option. I'm sorry...but I can't do this right now.

Altering topic to be how to restart this game.

Re: Hiatus

For this game to go off hiatus, I'd need a few things. More players, to get a set gaming night of the week (probably no more than twice a month), and probably to do a game reset.

The first bit, more players, I'd want at least one more player, preferably two. If you two want to go and recruit anyone, feel free. I'm not really up for such. No more than three more players though...I don't think I could handle more than 5 people and do it justice.

For the second, I'm pretty positive I could get Wednesday evenings free from work on a regular basis to run this in the evenings, probably starting around 6-8 PM (ES/DT), depending on preferences from players for starting time. I cannot do this for any other day of the week. If that would be possible, then let me know if you'd want to try twice a month on something like first and third wednesdays or something like that, or what.

For the final bit, it would mean starting from scratch. What I think I'd like to do is take the character creation rules from DotFA and modify them slightly to fit how I've altered the setting, like I did for the regular ones. This way, the starting characters are a little more experienced. You could make the same characters if you wanted, but any in game events have not happened, other than whatever happened to have someone like Ignatius in the same area as Captain Stewart.

In short, starting characters again, but using a set of chargen rules more like the first age, and then starting from scratch, possibly in a slightly different area, if acceptable.

The other option is that I could to a game set in Great Britain, if players would prefer. That, I would prefer celestials to terrestrials as the PCs, though.

Let me know if any of this interests you, all right?

Re: Hiatus

I might be up for any of the two. I could probably do wednesday afternoons depending on my new schedule when I'm given it... (Of course, there might still be absences due to tests or whatever, not like you can't play without me)

And... Well I don't know... I might be able to recruit someone else.

All right. Two questions for all players (well, only one for Kajiri, as I know his availability already).

1) What would work best, Wednesday-wise for people? Every other Wednesday, First and Third Wednesdays of a month (or Second and Fourth), only once a month? Post what works best and we'll get to work on such.

If you're wondering why Wednesday, it's because Kajiri doesn't work Tuesday night, so I can request days only without running into issues with not having a car to drive to my own job.

2) Would you rather this game remain set where it is (New City, New York) or would you prefer it to be moved elsewhere? The three other options I have in mind are Florida (near Tallahassee or Panama City), in Ohio (near Cincinnati), or Roanoke, Virginia. If it doesn't matter to you, feel free to say so, or if there are some you'd just rather not but don't care among the others.... *shrugs* Let me know? :)

I'm not picky. I'll generally be wanting to play Captain Stewart again, though obviously as a new start. In some ways, actually, I could see Virginia being suitable, since the Captain might have more personal connection to the area, but wherever he was stationed last and the environs are more than acceptable. Of course, would probably be a unit other than the Triple Deuce, most likely, if it was a different location, but I'm sure I can do a little research and pull together a different company.

Chaka and Starhawk have expressed interest in this game, and so have been added. This would leave one potential opening if anyone else chooses to take it, as I don't think I can currently manage more than 5 in a group.

In either case, let me know what sort of gaing schedule would work best, if you can, and I'll start from there. Unless anyone feels strongly about other locations, I think I'll be moving the game to Roanoke, Virginia. It gives me a few more options that I'd like to consider pursuing for the game, I suppose. Though it does lose New York.

Either way, just posting an update so far, so that people know what's going on.

Roanoke, eh? Alright. I'll poke around for an infantry company likely to be in the area, then. Shouldn't be too hard. If I can't find one, simple enough to find an excuse for one from elsewhere to be in the area. Any idea what sort of being types or focuses we're likely to see, from either? Or they can post such themselves. The Captain is a War, Martial Arts (Five Dragon Style) and Presence focused Fire Aspect Dragonblooded. I intend to work on more Presence, and a bit of Bureaucracy eventually, as well as Integrity when I have the chance. I will be bringing a company of infantry to the field, as well as a place to stay, and so forth, taking up the role of local warlord, once again. Theoretically he's social Tertiary, but in truth, that's frankly false...he's just not manipulative, instead a rather straight forward type who doesn't have much use for subtle manipulation.

If it doesn't get filled, it's okay, actually. I wanted at one or two more people. That's happened, so, well. *chuckles* I'm just saying that if there is interest, I would allow one more in, if there was.

In any case, the PCs seem to be, at this point (unless you're changing to a different character, Kamina), two Fire Aspects and two Lunars (one Full Moon, one other). The Twilight madwoman is not going to show back up at current, but it seems that Kajiri wishes Moira Stone as a 1 dot Ally, and I intend to make Randall something of a primary NPC. Which brings an Earth and Air Aspect in. And I think that Kamina has a Sideral NPC Mentor sort that might show up once in a while to spout cryptic wisdom. ;)

Anyhow, it sounds to be a relatively decent mix of specialties and so forth...so I'm looking forward to seeing what comes of it.

Okay, have added them as well to the group, so there are no more openings. This may bring a Solar PC, socially inclined, into the group. I only ask that the group try to make sure that people won't end up with irreconciliable differences due to personality quirks or something. *chuckles* I doubt it's an issue, but as such, I would appreciate character sheets within the next week-ish so that we can figure stuff out. If all goes well, I'd like to restart by mid June-ish.

Also, 5 bonus chargen points for having character backstory written up and posted, too (yes, Kamina, Kajiri, if you're using your current characters, what you have counts).

Edit: Oh yeah. It would be appreciated if said backstory had an explanation as to why you are in the area of Roanoke as part of it. Does not need to include meeting up with the rest of the PCs, but I would like everyone around there to start already. *nods* All of you can discuss whether you'd rather have everyone already gathered in Roanoke and met up with each other, or whether you want to do a 'meet and greet' as the first game session.

Dere be poll nao...vote! *rawrs*

Yes. It seems that having a set schedule to ask for will be best with my work, so I needs must know what will work best for people so I can ask for it. *nodnods*

I... think it's all the same for me, really. My tests are programmed almost at random so... I might just not be available once in a while but the vote is moot to me so I'll just go with the majority.

I suppose second and fourth is fine with me. Not really picky. Either of the every other week options seems reasonable to me. Gives DG a chance to prepare between sessions, and have a break, and lets us do other things some Wednesdays.

Realistically, any combination is probably fine for me.

Hello everyone, by the way. :P

My character's statted out, but on my laptop which is going in to the shop to be repaired, so I won't be able to post stats for a few days. I'll try and get backstory up soon, though.

Kk. So, have put in request for the second and fourth ones. Won't be getting this done until June at the earliest, and since the first two weeks of such the store manager is on vacation...don't expect to have my first of these until the 4th Wednesday of June. AKA 6/24.

BUT! I have claimed the third week of June for vacation, so it would be possible to start it then, to have a get to know others sort of thing on the 17th, and then get the first serious game session down on the 24th. How does this sound to people?

Either way...need to sit down and do a little writing soon. *nodnods* Just need to find the time...

You know... I've sort of been contemplating a Familiar, but it's generally acknowledged that the background as written sucks balls. (And I'd have to spend like 3 points to get something close to what I want, and it's pretty simple really)

Think perhaps we could do something about that, either mod the rules a bit or adopt one of the various familiar houserules available on the net?

I have already houseruled they get 1/2 the PC's XP...what other houserules do you speak of, and what do they do? Have any links? ^.^

The old wiki is plagued with alternatives and variants, and it's not just the growth, rather the fact that they're just pretty weak.

Basically, I could spend one point and take a Daiklave or alternatively a... mouse. Yes, a mouse.

Telgar's rules are more guidelines (Provides detailed examples for every level of the background, though) than hard rules but they provide a significant revamp to the background:

Perhaps with that, if you like it, we could reach a way to construct a decent familiar in term of points or abilities... (I'm thinking Familiar ·, maybe ··)

All right. If there is interest. I have saturday off. If people want to get onto a chat to discuss stuff about the game then, I would be amenable. Let me know ASAP if you're interested!

I have to work Saturday at 3pm pacific time. but I'll try to be on and in chat before work just in case people are there.
