Ten years ago, the Herald of Andraste and her Inquisition forces saved southern Thedas by successfully sealed the Breach and defeating Corypheus. Remaining demons in the region were snuffed out and the Inquisition dedicated its manpower towards aiding Ferelden and Orlais. Slowly but surely, order was re-established and towns were rebuilt.
Orlais and Ferelden found peace again. It seemed southern Thedas would not have to worry about another world ending threat again for some time.
The Exalted Council snuffed such a notion from their minds. The revelation that Solas, former Inquisition agent, was actually the Dread Wolf and had plans to tear down the Veil meant that peace was lost to them once again. The Inquisition, with no choice but to have their forces absorbed by the Chantry, re-focused its efforts on tracking down their former friend.
Solas and the Agents of Fen'Harel remained elusive for many years until he was finally confronted during a ritual to destroy the Veil. While his efforts were stopped, the interruption of Solas' ritual had catastrophic consequences. Ancient elven threats, Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain, were released from their prisons.
With their escape, a Sixth Blight has been unleashed upon all of Thedas.
Although the Evanuris have their eyes set on northern Thedas, this does not mean the south is safe. The Blight has spawned and crawled its way into Ferelden and Orlais as well. The two kingdoms, alongside smaller political factions, have set aside their differences to form an allegiance to face this new threat. Agents are sent to meet in the birthplace of the Inquisition, a rebuilt Haven, in order to establish a task force which will personally investigate the new Blight.

The Seekers of Truth are an Andrastian order that acts as a force for the Orlesian Chantry, sanctioned directly by the Divine in Val Royeaux. After the corruption within the Seekers of Truth was exposed, Lady Seeker Cassandra Pentaghast rebuilt the order to dedicate themselves to justice for all. Many members of the Templar Order who were freed and rescued by the Inquisition joined the Seekers of Truth after the Templar Order was formally disbanded in the south.

Originally consisting of former members of the Circle of Magi in southern Thedas, the College of Enchanters was formed by Fiona when Divine Victoria formally disbanded the Circle. The College seeks to maintain the rights of mages in southern Thedas while studying magic and its many forms. Although it is not required, many young mages in Ferelden and Orlais join the College.

The Grey Wardens are an Order of warriors of exceptional ability dedicated to fighting darkspawn throughout Thedas. The Grey Wardens are known for ignoring a recruit's racial, social, national, and even criminal background if they deem the person valuable in terms of character, ability or skill. After the battle with the Inquisition at Adamant Fortress, the Grey Wardens of the south slowly rebuilt in the years following the events. It is rumored they have an estranged relationship with their leaders in Weisshaupt.

Following the Exalted Council, the Inquisition became a peacekeeping organization under Divine Victoria. Over the next several months, the Inquisition carefully gave over many of the duties it had held. As the Divine's personal honor guard and peacekeeping force, the Inquisition shrank to a more manageable size. Many who had served went home, though the remaining force was still enough to give pause to any who might threaten the Divine's plans. Those who served the new Inquisition were tested and checked thoroughly, in the hope of ferreting out any more spies within its ranks.

The Mortalitasi are a group of mostly mages in Nevarra who wield considerable political power and influence. Within the ranks of the Mortalitasi are the Mourn Watch, elite guardians and keepers of the Grand Necropolis and its sacred repository of the dead.

rule one.
We will use a Discord server for chatting, plotting, and announcements. We will have a posting order and "waterfall" posting style. This means each person will have an individual deadline of seven days within group of three with a determined order of posting. Keep me updated about absences or deadline extensions. Missed posts with no communication or excessive absences/extensions may result in a drop.
rule two.
The roleplay will mostly consist of goal-oriented scenes. This means we are in need of roleplayers who are proactive with plotting and progressing the scene through writing. Posts that are primarily reactive and characters with no connections to the rest of the cast will not work in the long run. Please do not pursue the roleplay if you do not feel comfortable reaching out to other roleplayers to plot and collaborate.

All characters will be 21-50 years old. This is a queer, BIPOC friendly space, so diversity is non-negotiable. We are seeking illustrated, semi-realistic art for face claims. AI is strongly discouraged, but an exception can be made for BIPOC face claims if an alternative can not be found. Face claims from popular anime or games are unlikely to be accepted. Please take this information into consideration when choosing your face claims and crafting your character.
rule four.
Roleplayers should be 18+. Roles are not first come, first serve. The application process will allow for thoughtful consideration. Unique, compelling characters presented by roleplayers with an active history of posting will likely have no problems securing a role. If your app is accepted, you will have seven days to complete your CS.
