So, first off, this not canon Pokemon. I'm taking a lot of liberties and putting my own spin on things here. Before I get into the details, a few expectations, just to make sure we have a good rp.
I appreciate good, coherent grammar. It just makes it so much easier to reply when I can understand what you’re saying. Post length doesn’t matter to me, as long as whatever you write contributes to the story. One line of dialog is sometimes better than two paragraphs of fluff and filler. And I am over 18, since I’ve had many people ask that.
So, in this world, it's not uncommon for Pokemon to develop humanoid forms. Basically anthro/furries, but Pokemon. These Pokemon can be wild or partnered with trainers just as other Pokemon, but some are also independent, living among people like one of them. The stronger individuals can concentrate their power into a weapon to be used in battle.
Now, as far as Moves, PP, and such goes, I like to think of it as a simplified way for trainers to give their Pokemon commands. The Pokemon are capable of more than just four moves at a time, and they can fight without using moves. The moves are just commands; a quick way for the trainer to let them know how to act and to what extent. Keeping it down to four helps the trainer give commands quickly without having to refer to a long list of commands. Different abilities and attacks use different amounts of energy, which make the Pokemon tired if used a lot over time. PP represents a rough estimate of how many times the Pokemon can use an ability before they're worn out. Wild Pokemon don't attack in a turn-based manner. They fight freely, using whatever abilities they have as the situation demands.
Now, the story I have in mind revolves primarily around Giratina, who will be my character. Banished to the Distortion World shortly after the dawn of time, she's watched over the material world for ages, quietly seething and awaiting her time for revenge. When your character, be they Pokemon or trainer, stumbles upon a portal into the Distortion World, they encounter Giratina who all but forces them to show her the way out. Upon being freed from the Distortion World, possibly in a Pokeball, Giratina makes it her quest to seek revenge against the one who banished her: Arceus. But, maybe someone will be able to talk her out of it, and come to understand her at the same time.
Giratina is angry, bitter, and short tempered. She prefers to solve her problems through violence, because that's all she's ever known. She's not irredeemable though. All her anger came from being locked away by herself for so long.
If you're interested or have any questions, let me know!
