Since the existence of the human race, werewolves or ‘were-folk’ have always been present. Usually in the most hidden areas of the world. Two main populations existed on earth during the reign of humans, the wolves of Eastern Europe who were driven to extinction after their discovery, and the exotic western wolves of the Americas that lived among the natives.

With the arrival of Europeans, the population of the wolves dropped alongside their native relatives. The remainders of the large population were soon forced into hiding, either doomed to a wolf form for the rest of their lives or forced to conform to the ways of a human.

If one was to be discovered, extermination by the human hand would be sure to follow.

For centuries, werewolves had blended in among the humans, living together in packs or ‘families’. They worked jobs, attended schools, and had children. All to keep up with societies formalities.

Humans soon began to rapidly advance, developing technology at a dangerous pace. Ultimately, it was their demise. A Great War came about, machinery had turned against their masters, unleashing bombs of great destruction onto the earth. Humanity was practically wiped clean, very little of their existence lingered. Only some technology left behind from that era still functioned.

There was now one intelligent life form that remained on earth, were-folk. Their bodies were accustomed to the harsh environment humans created, the pollution they were exposed to for centuries had prepared their bodies for such an event. The leftover radiation hardly effected them, though some required new abilities or ‘senses’ from the exposure. Such as having prophetic visions or extremely heightened eyesight or smell. Lifespans were only slightly lowered.

Werewolves flourished once more on the planet, their population rapidly rising. They now lived together in large, nomadic packs. Roaming about in tribe-like functions, they reverted back to more primal ways. Such as using advanced bows and swords, rarely was human influenced technology was used. Most human weaponry was destroyed, very few fire arms lay around the decaying cities. Those that were recovered, were tinkered with and modified.

The horses that escaped human farms after the blasts now roamed wild and free on the plains once more, were-folk taming the creatures and using them for transportation, since human cars were no longer present.

Pack Functions
All members of a pack follow a ‘code’ or a set of rules, those who break such rules will face severe punishment or even rejection from the pack. Those who are aggressive, or attempt to harm any of the pack members are faced with a ‘Trial of Shame’, perpetrators are forced through a series of humiliating events before being ultimately abandoned by the pack.

•Do not intentionally bring harm to other members of the pack.
•Any form of relationship with humans is forbidden, having children with a human automatically excludes you from the pack.
•Mothers and children eat first.
•Zetas are to never bare children or have a mate. This will result in exclusion.
•All roles are to be respected, even the lowest role can be the most helpful.
•Iotas are forbidden from patrols or hunting parties for safety reasons.
•Endangering a Iota will resort in demotion to a lower role.
•Members are not to choose mates until the age of 20, Alphas, Betas, and Sigmas may only choose mates from the upper castes. Occasionally, Alphas are assigned mates from birth. Though this is rarely an occurrence anymore.
•If a Alpha dies and there is no blood members to replace them, their highest ranking Beta will take their position.
•A vigil is to be always held for a werewolf that dies, pack member or not.
