Other Relklym, a Fictional World's History.

Daric J Fender

The Clown Prince of Crime
Four years of work has gone into this project and I hope to write a series of novels based on it. Fantasy and Sci fi are the crucial elements to this work. It has been inspired by J.R.R Tolkien, and Stephen King.

Relklym
Genesis
There has always been war. Since the birth of the Hethliandr, Thendmindr, and the Vahln, chaos has influenced the evolution of all life. I am known as Teroce, or Noryok, and I feel it is my duty to record Relklym’s history so others may learn from it. I suspect as well that this story may fall into the hands of those in other Vahlnu, and so will explain what may be misunderstood.

The Hethliandr are my people, born with the birth of the Vahln, a black space that seems to have no end. We are not, as many would claim, gods. We die with time. And, as the Mimnar chose to prove, we can be killed. We are not without flaws.

But I leap ahead of myself. I apologize. Let me start at the beginning. My grandparents were among the first of my people born with the suddenly expanding Vahln, and our sibling people, the Thendmindr. We were by no means civilized at birth. We were driven by instinct alone with no senses to experience the darkness or silence. Our instinct drove us to cling onto anything, be it energy or matter. We learned to consume what energy we found, forming bodies and developing senses. We began to recognize six aspects of the Vahln. The dark, the hard physical aspects, the flowing aspects, one more touchable than the other, souls, and the threads. Some of us could see them. Some of us not. But we saw the threads attracted the other aspects and we learned to manipulate these threads. We played with the aspects as we consumed the living energies latched onto them. We grew close to each other, discovering love, and soon that created a pure light. These lights flew around the threads unlike the other aspects, never touching. We absorbed this light like we did the other energies until the lights died. With the loss, new life was born. It was the second generation of Thendmindr and Hethliandr.

We learned through interaction with each other that we were individuals and we developed a way to communicate. Our ability to do so evolved and became more complex. This soon led to naming ourselves and each other. These names will never be mentioned for they are the key to our life and power.

Before I continue, I must explain; the Thendmindr and the Hethliandr were exactly the same except for one thing. The Thendmindr could not manipulate or see the threads. We Hethliandr did not need to move around to find sustenance for we made nests with the threads that collected the aspects and energies for us and protected our unborn.

The Thendmindr grew hungrier and began stealing from the Hethliandr. Such issues escalated, leading to violence and ultimately war. Many died, including those unborn. I never saw this war for I was born thousands of years later. However, it is said that those who died went on to another world, for their souls were simply gone, leaving behind the energies that formed their bodies. It is also believed that many were reborn to tell the tale. Some of us tell the tale as if we were there with stunning accuracy. But I am not one of them. The Thendmindr fought to the last.

The first war changed us and our way of life forever. Our race was no longer innocent. We used to live in vast communities, but now only in small families. our nests are weaved together to protect our people from anything else that threatened. Little did we know how close to home this threat would grow.

Birth of Bissimbr
They started out just as innocent as us when we were born, driven by the same instinct to cling, consume, and survive. Like us, they were souls. But unlike us, their bodies were made of material aspects and their mobility was limited by the pull of the threads. My family watched curiously as they changed physically with time, varying in size, shape, and color. But because their beginnings were so similar to our own, my brother predicted they would thus become more intelligent and powerful. Father and he would argue about this because the former refused to believe they would be anything but crawlers. This is what we took to calling them, Crawlers, or in our tongue, Bissimbr.

One day I was led along by one of my daughters for a surprise. I had no idea what I would see and suspected nothing of it, until we came to an abnormal formation of material. I was dumbfounded. My brother could manipulate the material aspect, but he never made anything like this. Closer inspection revealed what made them. these Bissimbr cut and hammered at the material, moved it, and reshaped it using the burning aspect.

I didn't wait long to seek the others of my family. When my brother saw, he decided to try communicating to them. He mimicked their form and learned their tongue and ways of living. Hethliandr don't wear clothing. The idea seemed ridiculous at first. They had names for all the aspects, Flembrahn (fire), Alklu (water), Strem (earth), Ventro (air), Selstalo (light), Etheru (darkness), and Sool (life). Vahln was their word for the universe. They changed what they consumed with water and fire. They used tools and weapons to do what other Bissimbr did with their claws and teeth.

They called themselves Dwinahrdu (dwin-are-duh) and they were the proof of my brother's words against our father.

Worlds Within the Vahln
The Dwinahrdu were the first people of the material aspect discovered and the first to be adopted by my family. Thus we were given names. I was named Noryahk, my brother Sdomahl, my mate Heylrodis, and many more thereafter. We taught them many things and they taught us. They learned of the Vahln's beginnings and of the threads, while we learned of writing, literature, and art in many forms.

But these were not the only people. The second to be discovered were the Dragons. After them were the Mimnahr (humans), the Szinza, Kalkuun, and various Fae that my daughter Dreshen took a liking to. It seemed to happen over night that these and many more people suddenly emerged and became known. Every one had a language and culture. Most had a form of writing.

With time they discovered new things, invented transportation over water, shared knowledge with each other and formed relationships. It was beautiful. It made me wonder if other Hethliandr families were finding the same things. We all must have had our own little worlds within the Vahln.

An Unwanted Inevitability
We all should have known the peace would come to an end, but we were as yet naive and inexperienced. All the peoples showed potential, including the Mimnahr whose lack of powers and physical strength was compensated by their determination. But even a strength could be a weakness. The Mimnahr were looked down on by many in different ways. They were mainly seen as children no matter their age. They were the second most impulsive, and yet still able to discipline themselves. They varied greatly among themselves. The Mimnar could adopt other cultures and, when together with others of their own, could still preserve their traditions. But they changed more so than any other people.

Because they were so greatly underestimated, they were driven to prove themselves. But no one thought it would cause any problems.

After the Elves discovered magic, they shared it with the other peoples. Soon the Dwinahrdu began experimenting with it. Artifice was born along with Diiridri (deer-id ree). Knowledge circulated and created the soil for new knowledge to take root and grow. The Mimnahr were a part of this cycle and soon claimed they would be as powerful as the Hethliandr.

My family laughed. But not me. Nor did my brother, Sdomahl. We knew that these people were not to be underestimated. So we consulted an old enemy. The Szinza practiced the art of soul discipline, allowing them to travel to the afterlife the Dwinahrdu call Alkrimeyr. These people were called Szouguai (sh-owg-way). They claimed there were three gods collectively called the Ugeinda (ug-een-duh), Kij, Borbok, and Gimba. I was to meet three of the long dead Thendmindr.

We Hethliandr and Thendmindr don't need to speak in order to communicate. We never did. Our messages have always been conveyed via telepathy. It's like blending the mind with another. Two thinking as one. What I saw was both what I expected and not.

I disbelieved at first, having never before been shown the future. I had to see the warning signs first, because if it was true, I would have to perform an act against my honor to save my Family. I took on a lesser form and walked among the Mimnahr as if I were one of them. The kingdom was Edin ruled by King Aidith and Eav. My nephew Mahkerko had taken a liking to them when he found them and had helped advise them during their rule. But now he was seldom consulted.

I asked questions posing as a traveler and soon found my way to the castle. Rumors suggested something dark was happening within the gates. Something unnatural. I suspected it would be done where none would go if they weren't involved or were never coming back. So I committed a theft where they could see me and the dungeon revealed the truth. The Mimnahr were experimenting with Drimiir magic (necromancy), Artifice, and Diiridri to create monsters. Orcs and goblins were a result of artificially twisting Elves. Giantess's wombs were altered to create Titans. Humanoids were spliced with animals to create Minotaurs, centaurs, Lycans, and all manner of Werling. I would have ended everything there and then but I was alone. I had the proof of the Jiduhn's message and If I did anything, I would have been dead. Titans had the power to kill Hethliandr and there were three at the time.

There was only one thing I could do.

I managed to disappear that night and make it to the castle bed chambers. It was foretold Aidith would be gone hunting that night, and come back too tired to find anything amiss, for Eav always waited patiently for him to come back before she slept. I took on Aidith's form and gave her a child.

I regret this act of disloyalty and yet if I had not done so, my family would have died in the conflict to come. The Jiduhn had shown that a child of Mimnahr and Hethliandr would be needed to win us this battle, and I was the only one who knew what was to come and was willing. My mate forgives me, but I do not. The rest of my family does not know.
