Due to the nature of the world running by the phases of the moon, even those of the most evil and uncivilized natures at least recognize Selune as a main goddess of worship. Not all call her Selune, but a moon goddess of some form or another is present in every pantheon and religion.
There are 45 other main deities in Velestra. Almost any person in Velestra has heard of these deities. However, these are just the deities that can be found in various books. The world of Velestra is bound to have more deities than those whose names have been put onto paper.
Clerics and Paladins must have at least one common axis with their chosen deity, but cannot be evil. i.e. Someone with a chosen deity with the Lawful Good nature could be Lawful Good, Neutral Good, Chaotic Good, or Lawful Neutral. This means that an evil deity could be chosen for a Cleric so long as the player's alignment was Good or Neutral and then Lawful, Neutral, or Chaotic depending on the chosen deity. I will require some pretty good reasons on why the character wouldn't be evil for this to work, though.
Selune, Goddess of the Moon
Selune is the highest power in Velestra. She is worshiped by anyone and anything with a sense of religion under many different names and descriptions. Her influence, however, spreads to everyone despite these differences.
