It's semi...it's like a mix. Humans used to know of Gods in the beginning, but as time went on, humans abandoned them. Monsters existed as well, but monsters used to be persecuted by humans and some gods who deemed them imperfect or of pure evil. Monsters who laid low or served the gods were spared.
