Kazu
The Forgettor
Okay, I know amidst all this craziness, people won't be looking at Personal Discussion forums and are probably really upset right now. But I feel the need (or the boredom) to tell you why I'm trying to be positive here~
I'm sure some of you have played on Nintendo's consoles, Wii U and 3DS, so you'll know of their "social media": Miiverse. There was a big redesign that happened about two years-ish ago that ruined a lot of stuff for me. I would list them all, but biggest thing is that I lost friends. I made friends there that I've been able to keep in touch with, but others... they got banned permanently or just disappeared. It was that easy to leave and never come back. Or to get banned. We used to be able to freely RP there, draw there, play together (if you were careful), and many other stuff. You could get banned for trying to play with somebody, like for instance on Pokemon. You'd need that person's friend code to play with them, and there was a rule that you couldn't for some unknown reason. The people who made it tried to have their customers want to play their games, but not at the same time. It was really ironic.
"That thing is stupid! XD"
Banned.
*makes slightly bloody drawing*
Banned.
And even saying bananas in the wrong context could get you banned. You're probably wondering why people stuck for so long though, right? Well, at the time, it was bustling with users. There were actually decent drawings and snazzy, interesting users to strike conversations up with and you could talk all day if you had the time. Well, that all was put to a stop when the big scary redesign came. They got rid of a nice thing called "Activity Feed" where you could post where only your followers could see, and that was nice when you wanted to let the people who cared to follow you know what's going on. You couldn't post there anymore, which sucked. It was also nice for practicing drawing.
You could only have 30 comments a day. Imagine trying to talk with several people you know really well. You could only post five things before having to say goodbye for the day if you wanted to talk to more people, or you also wanted to share your thoughts on a community (which is basically a forum here). Two minutes per post instead of just waiting a couple of seconds. You were also more easily banned if you strayed off from talking about... Super Smash Bros. on it's community and instead started talking about the memes coming from it. It might not sound so bad, but if you actually tried to have an interesting conversation, you'd find it incredibly frustrating. You'd only be able to post things like
"I love this game!"
"Uh-oh! I think I ran into a glitch!" (which they never bother to fix :/)
Drawings? Well, if you're not popular with 1000 followers, say bye-bye to having your stuff get seen. The only drawings that would be shown is content from the popular people, and someone would have to go out of their way to see what the less-noticed users have been up to.
And ohhh. How I miss being able to RP there without worrying about my post count. You always had to be wary of admins, but that's another rant to tell. And thus ends my talk about redesigns. And to top it all off, have this RP I found while looking through this hell-made site.
