Ready Ranger One!

Year: 2020

Location: New Corinth, USA

Synopsis: With the Power Rangers a distant after the eradication of the Venjix virus, civilization and humanity began to lick its wound and rebuild itself at a steadfast rate. Cities were built from the ground, schools and colleges proceeded to educate the youth, and peace fell over the entire Earth. With the legend of the ranger team that saved the world in the past, there was a void left in the hearts of a specific engineering group that longed to bring back that the protective aura that could only be filled by the group of heroes. With no evil to be conquered for the foreseeable future, the video game company known as GENESIS had the idea of creating a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game that would put an individual in the boots of a Power Ranger, allowing the player to join a team and "save the world." The project was dubbed "Arcadia," a nod to Greek terminology while also acknowledging the word "arcade." The reaction to the news of the video game launch was met with applause, but GENESIS didn't account for the virtual reality world to crossover into our own world.

Somehow, in attempting to utilize the morphing grid for the purposes of the game, the intergalactic villains that were supposed to remain an in-game threat managed to spill over into our own world. Embarrassed by their mistakes, GENESIS has tried to cover up the error, but the threat looms too large and too powerful for ordinary human hands. The fear was that somehow a mole within the company synchronized a remnant of the Venjix virus to Project Arcadia, which allowed the threat to sprout into the world. With no where else to turn, GENESIS reached back in to the morphing grid, extracting as many "Beta Spheres" as possible (because what was a video game without a few testers?). Fortunately, they were able to get their hands on a few of them; unfortunately, many of them have scattered across the city and into the hands of un-expecting owners. Whether they knew it or not, a new game was about to be played... a game that didn't necessarily have an extra life. Once that Beta Sphere is clicked, whoever is the owner of it will be hearing... Ready Ranger One!

Ranger Roles: A group of diverse individuals who, one day, randomly found a Beta Sphere and had their lives changed forever. It will take some time for them to actually form a functioning team, but they will get there eventually. There is no "leader" per se; each of them balance each other out and will have an opportunity to lead.

Rival Ranger Roles: Hired by GENESIS as their personal beta testers, the jobs of these two individuals consist of ridding the world of the world of the threat that has arrived while also taking back the other Beta Spheres by any means necessary. If you are interested in one of these roles, PM me. This is a requirement!

Notable Organizations:

GENESIS - The gaming company responsible for Project Arcadia. Many believe that the intentions of the company were good in regards to creating an experience that would allow anyone (young or old) to live out the dream of being a Power Ranger. However, a bit of mishandling and perhaps corruption within the company has led to the manifestation of a legitimate intergalactic threat into our world. While they try to pick up the pieces, many are wondering what exactly is going on at GENESIS's headquarters and who exactly is to blame for this terrible occurrence.

Dark Matter - An intergalactic threat from within Project Arcadia, Dark Matter has now managed to spill over into our world with a similar mindset: wipe away the energy from this planet before moving on to the next one with a similar goal. They are led by a mysteriously cloaked humanoid alien, but have several generals that are capable of doing the dirty work for Dark Matter. More times than not, their grunts are doing most of the dirty work, but when things get a little interesting, a superior power will emerge to face tougher, more challenging opponents (players in this case).

Rules: Make sure you read them!

1. Roles are not first come, first serve. I think everyone knows that by now, right?
2. No overpowered, godmodding characters please. I will keep a watchful eye out for this one.
3. I'm looking for diverse characters (in physical appearance and personalities). Please make your characters interesting!
4. Activity is a must! I'd like for this to be a successful RP.
5. I may allow people to play multiple rangers (maximum of two), but I want to see if there will be interest from a variety of people. Aside from that, feel free to run side characters by me.
6. The Rangers initially won't be working as a team (crazy right?). The "original six" will get their powers on their own and may work in partners for a little while before coming together as a team. Gold and Silver will serve, initially, as rivals hired by GENESIS.
7. The other four Ranger roles are not available right now. Period.

Name: Michael Eilloh
Age: 20
Ranger Designation: Preferred Ranger color is Orange. Alternative color is Blue.

Personality: Michael possesses a highly sarcastic and great sense of humor that irritates and annoys most people. He feels no shame and can make a joke out of any situation. Despite his initial immaturity, Michael is a genuine, soft, good-hearted man. He is quick to act without thinking and is very impulsive.
History: Michael was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia until 2017 where he moved to New Corinth to be closer with family. His father was murdered in an alleyway for not doing as a thief said and he only lived with his mother.

He went to school regularly and got in trouble regularly like any problem child or class clown. Now he's in college, learning to be a video game animator.

Name: Terry Charles

Age: 21

Personality: If there's one thing to say about Terry, it's that he's charismatic. He's quick to smile, easy to talk to, and because of his job, is something of a social butterfly. Despite his charismatic nature however, and his job, he doesn't always feel comfortable with attention on him and is often prone to getting nervous and falling back into old habits of trying to get the attention off of himself. He's also the type of person that doesn't take himself too seriously and always willing to throw out a few self-deprecating jokes for laughs, and is generally very laid back.

History: Terry grew up as the youngest in a family of five, with three older brothers. Being the youngest, he quickly learned how to take a beating and dish one out as well when he got into fights with his brothers, which was often. Growing up, he did average in school and was contemplating going into science field like all his brothers when a photographer approached him and asked if he could take a few pictures and explained that he worked in the model industry. Terry agreed and a few weeks later was contacted by an agency to do a few more takes.

Thus, his career as a male model kicked off at the age of eighteen and what he assumed was a way to get easy money turned out to be a lot harder than he had anticipated. He had to maintain a certain physique year-round which turned out to be quite difficult, and that was on top of the many questionable things he had to do just to get a gig, but seeing that he had no other source of income he just went for it. Eventually, his name became more common in the model industry and he was being invited to high class events more and more frequently and by the time he reached 21 and now lives in a condo in one of the better parts of New Corinth.

Name: Brittania “Tani” Cortez
Age: 23
Ranger Designation: Blue; Alternative color Green

Personality: Gun expert and knife enthusiast, Tani takes shit from no one and will gladly put a round in your head if you disrespect her or the Black Cobras.
History: Tani was born and raised on the streets, where she quickly learned that in order to survive, you had to do what you had to do. When she was seven she unsuccessfully attempted to break in to what she would later learn to be the home of Hector Cortez, third in command of the then still growing Black Cobras street gang. He, along with the second and first in command of the Black Cobras, saw to her induction in to their gang personally, a beating she still remembers to this day. As the years passed and she grew, Tani eventually took the last name Cortez in homage to the man that put her on the path she now walks. Now at the age of 23, after fighting and clawing her way to the top, Tani holds the rank of third in command and the tile Third Fang, a position she earned after Hector became second in command following the death of that position’s previous owner.

Personality: She can be pretty loud as she tries to be the center of attention as she feels that's the only way people will notice her since that was the only way she could get her parents' attention growing up. She is very friendly but can be quick to anger when someone dose something to upset her.

Backstory: Only child of a fairly rich couple that was often too busy with work to spend time with her. Growing up she went to a fancy all-girls school all the way from elementary to high school. She is very into anime and especially the Naruto series. She has had a couple of self-defense classes and took fencing in school but was never been in an actual fight growing up. She currently lives with her parents in the richer parts of New Corinth and is attending college with an undecided major.
