Fantasy Ravenrash: School of Misfits (Staff and Student Handbook)

StrixDesmodus

Totally human, I swear!
Main: Ravenrash: School of misfits (Main)
  • If you don't understand what somebody else means, ask for clarification. There is no shame in it, and if anybody gives you flak about it then it is not your fault.
  • Hostility on our side of the fourth wall is needless. If you cannot discuss matters in a decent fashion then you are reprehensible.
  • Insensitive language belongs to insensitive characters. Ableist, racist, ageist, sexist, or otherwise essentialist language is prohibited from third person narrations. If you use it by accident, or if it's something that doesn't have connotations that are too bad, it can be excused, since many people don't know any better ways to phrase things. I won't hold it against you as long as I know it's an honest mistake.
  • Differences in style or creative ability are welcome here. Write script style, novel style, or anything outside and in between; Be as loquacious or laconic as you please.
  • You may not control another person's character, or make big changes to them without the consent of the roleplayer that made them.
  • You may make as many characters as you want.
  • You must give your characters a relatively probable age, unless you have a good explanation.
  • You may join at any time before the second day ends.
  • If you have any other questions, feel free to ask and I'll answer when I can, and update the rules if need be. No worries, I'll let everybody know when the rules are updated, and the amendments will appear both in this post and in an additional one

With magic being something of a secret in the world, it is no surprise that magical creatures live mainly away from humans in their own little towns, with their own niche businesses and their own niche schools. Separate from humans, and thus drastically different, right? Wrong.

In the end parahumans, as they call themselves, are no different from humans where it counts the most: Attitude. They are just as elitist and just as ill tempered and just as stubborn as they would be if they were human.

And can they run a school just as horribly? You be the judge.

Take Westenra Institute. They boast the best magical education in Canada, but be warned that they are only boasting. They do not follow IEPs, they blame the victims when bullying occurs, and the teachers are invariably snobs. But hey, it builds character don't it?

Westenra's biggest rival, Ravenrash Academy has a worse reputation. However, this reputation is based more on the lottery selected students, considered riff-raff by the other school and those who send their kids there, than by the actual experience, which if it weren't for the elitism would make the folks at Westenra proud.
For instance, Ravenrash sorts their students into two houses, named Everdark and Windpenny. At the end of the year, one of these houses earns a pizza party and trophy based on their students academic and sporting performance. Teachers take sides in this house rivalry, often pressuring the students of their favorite house to succeed and favoring those students in arguments.
Another staple of Ravenrash Academy is the cafeteria food being sub par. It seems as though whoever cooks the meals don't know how to use spices, or for that matter proper food safety protocol.
A handful of good teachers make their living at Ravenrash, but most of the teachers are just like those at Westenra.
The building at Ravenrash consists of a three storey center with three two storey wings. The east and west wings have the dorms to Everdark and Windpenny respectively, while the much larger north wing houses the classrooms and cafeteria.
