Filled with DETERMINATION
The cold water of Jusenkyo welled up around the young man as he fell into them, and immediately he felt the change; the twisting of his skin as the bones beneath shifted, and fat moved from one spot to another, his insides literally re-arranging themselves. But all that was secondary to the sudden wild terror that swept over his - now her - mind; the magic of the cursed springs had awoken The Cat Spirit.
Imparted by the abusive brutality of the nekoken training, the spirit of the cat had long lain dormant within the strong martial artist, emerging only when Ranma's mental state had weakened enough from cat-related trauma. But this was something new, the magic had found the cat spirit and had determined it to be a part of Ranma Saotome, instead of just being a second soul curled up in the corner of Ranma's mind, and so sought to merge the curse with this aspect of the martial artist too.
The Jusenkyo Spring boiled and frothed, Genma staring uncertainly and the guide wide-eyed in shock: he had seen all there was to see at Jusenkyo - or so he thought - but this was new and so he had no information to offer Genma. After several minutes the water grew still for the briefest of moments, then a blur launched itself out, landing on the SIDE of the bamboo shoot.
"What the HELL!?" Genma roared, pointing at the girl who was glaring at him, the Jusenkyo guide beginning his explanation of the spring of drowned girl, but he trailed off as he stared at the clearly upset girl who was beginning to climb up the bamboo shoot. Red-headed and blue-eyed, unbelievably exotic, especially for Japan, but that paled in comparison to the long red tail that thrashed the air behind her, the long triangular ears or the visible claws growing from her fingers and toes.
From that day forth it would become the Spring of Drowned Catgirl.
