Ranged Attacks in Second Edition

Laseen

One Time Luck
Hi folks, more question before my next game starts ;)

The second Edition left me wondering if you can parry Archery and Thrown attacks or not. I am sure I read you can only parry archery attacks only with a stunt once but i am not sure if I mistake it with first ed. And I found nothing about thrown.

I don't allow the parry of an Archery or Thrown attack without the use of a stunt.  Nor do I allow a dodge of the attack (applying their DDV) if they are already engaged in melee combat or otherwise distracted from paying attention to the Archer or Thrown Specialist.

Obviously, the use of charms are an exception.

[QUOTE="Exalted Second Edition]even the Exalted cannot parry attacks that inflict lethal or aggravated damage and/or ranged attacks if they are not armed, unless they augment their block with a stunt or magic enabling such defense.

This in the section on "inapplicable defense". I read that to say they can parry ranged attacks if they have a weapon.

I thought I read somewhere that you cut the DV in half for archery if they're already doing something else. I can't find it now. I'll go looking though.
