Random Double Spacing

I have been working on removing leftover bbcode and the random html code that has popped into posts. Whenever I go in to edit a post, there are random points within the finalized version that are double spaced. I've tried copying over from a google doc and the same thing happens.


In google docs, there is absolutely nothing in the formatting that suggests anything should be double spaced. 


Here on the site, there is no button that allows for double spacing. 


If double spacing is not technically possible, why is it happening? 


I would like to be able to make my posts look nice and this makes it very difficult.

I had a similar issue with a post I copied from Google Docs. It also changed the font and color, which didn't bother me that much, but it left a gap at the start of the post. If I went to remove the space, it made that paragraph double-spaced, but not the others. There was also a random double-space within one line of another paragraph.  I found that if I left the gap at the top alone, it would keep everything else single-spaced, but the gap still bugs me. It looks like I hit Enter a time or two before beginning my post...
