Welcome to my rags to riches RP thread. I've been craving this RP for a while and am hoping to find someone willing to write with me. I have an idea in mind and it will be listed below but first!
About Me:
Age: Over 25.
Timezone: EST.
Post Capability: I tend to post one to five detailed paragraphs.
Reply Capability: I can reply several times a day (or night. I'm a bit of a night owl.) But I will tell you when I'm out or might be a bit slow in replying but I will not ghost you.
OOC Friendly?: Absolutely! I love OOC chatter and plotting. Not to mention sharing memes or jokes.
Doubling?: Yes! I tend to write my character with a couple of friends and will throw them into a post.
Romance?: Yes, please. I am very much into romance in an RP but it won't be all fluff and nothing else. There will be drama for sure. Oh and if there is an intimate scene I typically fade to black and move on to afterwards.
What I expect from a partner:
Be an adult. 18 to 21+. (No minors! This is nonnegotiable.)
No one-lining. Paragraphs only. I don't want to be given a single line after replying with several detailed paragraphs. That's an RP killer for me.
Do not ghost me. If you're going to be slow, can't reply for a day or two or the RP just isn't working for you then tell me. It won't hurt my feelings. I'm cool with it. We'll just say our goodbyes and go on our merry ways. No harm done.
Be able to Double: I like a few side characters in my stories and am interested in seeing what kind my partner introduces. Plus I just think it's more fun to have a group of friends going through a situation together, supporting each other.
Now, let's get on to the real meat and potatoes. The plot.
I am wanting to write a story about a family that is on very hard times. Parents struggling to put food on the table and provide for their kids. Dad was laid off from his job and so Mom and Dad have to do odd jobs for friends and family just to save up enough money. They have to shop at either secondhand stores or cheap stores because they can't afford to go to stores that others go to. The kids wear cheap clothing and are embarrassed, made fun of at school etc. The house needs work done to it but they just can't afford to pay anyone or buy the supplies to fix it and Mom and Dad are at their wits end because of the toll that it is taking on their lives.
Then one evening in a whim and his last few dollars Dad decides to buy a lottery ticket in hopes of winning and freeing he and his family from poverty and give his family the lives that they deserve. He goes home and sets the ticket aside to check later and has dinner with his family and forgets to check it because something comes up. The next morning Mom checks it on her phone and discovers that they'd won. Finally, after years of living in poverty they were going to have money.
This is just one way that they could become rich. Finding out that they have a lot of oil on their property could also be an option. I hope to pique your interest with this and have a writing partner.
