2. No Erotic/Extreme Gore Content - RpNation is not an Erotic Roleplay Site. This means users are not allowed to post any explicit erotic content on RpNation. This includes, but is not limited to both written words and images.
- No Sexual Roleplaying - Users of RpNation are not allowed to participate in sexual roleplaying under any situation on RpNation or other web spaces provided by RpNation. Users must not roleplay sexual acts in any roleplay even if warnings of mature content are provided. Roleplays that post explicit erotic content face immediate closure and all users involved will be dealt with accordingly.

- Encouraging Erotic Content - Users are not allowed to encourage the creation of erotic content on RpNation or other web spaces provided by RpNation. Users must refrain from allowing erotic content within their roleplays. Users must also avoid instructing other users to conduct in erotic roleplaying off-site or in their private messages/conversations.

- Extreme Gore - RpNation does allow non erotic adult content, but RpNation does not allow extreme descriptions of gore or violence. Users cannot post real-life photography of extreme gore or violence. Drawn extreme gore or violence can be posted, but must be placed in spoiler BBCode.
I'm attempting to make sure I fully understand the rules here. So in regards to erotic content, I'm assuming anything outside of kissing and hugging basically--isn't allowed? I'm also wondering if, for example, a kiss scene was described with careful detail--would that be considered erotic content? What about sensual touching (ex. kissing/touching parts of the body that isn't the mouth or face) that doesn't progress to intercourse? Does that count as erotic content too?

As for extreme gore---I want to know what exactly counts as 'extreme'. I've been exposed to quite a lot of dark themed writings to the point where I think my definition of extreme might not match this site's definition, haha. In this case, does decapitation, detailed descriptions of guts/innards, unusual/cruel acts of torture (lol..I would give an example for this one but I think it could get me in trouble maybe) count as 'extreme gore'?

I'd like it very much if an Admin or Moderator of this site gave some useful input so that I can fully grasp my limits here. Oh, and one more question. These things that aren't allowed in public posts (erotic content, violence, etc)--would they be allowed if they were in PMs?

I can not answer any of your other questions as they are for the staff, but this is not allowed. Anything that isn't allowed in normal posts is not allowed in PM, besides sharing personal information such as skype, email ect. :)

Eh... basically, moderate amounts of gore is fine. Lifeblood spurting, bones crushing, sinew ripping and fat squelching - all disgusting of course, but an acceptable level of detail. Torture scenes are usually alright, up until they describe genitals - then that falls under explicit/erotic content and that's a no-go. Still, it's best to err on leaving things to the imagination.

Incorrect. Basically, we don't allow explicit erotic content. It's perfectly fine to imply that intercourse happened (note the past tense, we still don't allow depictions/descriptions of sex no matter how poetic or coded they are) by describing, say, two characters waking up in bed together or alluding to squeaky furniture. But due to federal laws, we can't allow users to post erotic content. Otherwise, we'd be liable for facilitating child pornography.

Just to tack on to what Weli said... *pulls this from hidden sleeve* That should explain everything you need to know about our ERP policy, but in case there's still something you're confused about after that, feel free to ask questions. :)

As for extreme gore... we're talking EXTREME extreme gore, like idk, twenty paragraphs describing cutting an artery. Like, slasher films Kaioken x20. In all likelihood, whatever you're thinking about writing in regards to gore should be fine. It's lit only been a problem once in the history of the site LOL and that was for someone who wrote that kind of stuff professionally.

This was insightful, thank you for responding.

Seems your hidden sleeve is useful. c: I think that link was more educational and explanatory. Also, thanks for your input--I think I understand it all now.
