Question about Saving Replies in Text Box

Hi! Not sure if this has info on it somewhere around here but I couldn't seem to find it. I'm also not entirely sure how to word it.. hopefully someone will be able to understand this  O.o

I was just wanting to know about your text saving in text boxes work. I've noticed that when you refresh the page, whatever you've written in the text box saves for when you open it again (such a good feature by the way). However it doesn't seem to save across devices, in my experience. Is there a time limit or anything on how long your text will stay saved for?

It's based on cookies, so whenever you write something on your computer, the website sends a cookie every few seconds that saves what you wrote. Cookies aren't stored across devices and that's why you can't continue writing on another device like a phone.

I wouldn't recommend saving drafts with cookies, though! Your browser is likely set to automatically clear them after a certain amount of time, which means that you could lose posts if you don't have a copy elsewhere. Google docs and OneNote are both word processing programs I use to keep work-in-progress posts, and they're both pretty easy to use.

Gdocs is free with a google account, OneNote should come on most WIndows computers, and if you want a processor that works offline (google docs doesn't) but have a non-windows operating system, LibreOffice is rather good (and free).

TL;DR is that they'll stay for as long as your browser will let them but won't travel across devices.
