Wormwood
O' how the moon has risen!
Welcome to my recruit, now updated for 2024 ! Horror has been my hyperfixation since I was little. I said it two years ago, and it still holds more true than ever! I'm craving the romance, the tragedy, the humanity, and all the the things between that you can find in horror. I'm in for the long haul to create something beautiful and terrifying- with you! I'm looking for long term RP partners who are interested in world building, story plotting, and generally creating something that we can get excited over together! So without further ado, I made all of this information as short and clear as possible, and I hope to hear from you!
After you've read the important info, feel free to DM me if you're interested! Don't hesitate to reach out if any of this looks like fun!
- I'm 21+
- I'm Queer/LGBTQ+
- I eat queer horror for breakfast. My main source of sustenance. Can't get enough of it.
- I use They/Them pronouns.
- I live/work in PST (Pacific Standard Time)
- I don't always reply regularly (More on that in important info!)
- I'm an artist, but I don't control what I draw. Goblin in my brain does.
- I don't RP with or as minors. Children side characters are totally fine.
- I respect all pronouns and identities, so please tell me yours!
- I will always ask about triggers and topics to avoid. With horror, clear discussion is important.
- Literate, multi paragraph responses are pretty necessary. We all make mistakes, though. I know I do.
- OOC chat is a must. We gotta be able to communicate!
- I won't ask for a writing sample from you, but you can ask me for one.
- Character sheets and face claims are not required. Credit if it's not your personal work is.
- I enjoy writing Queer/LGBTQIA+ pairings over anything else. Romance is totally Optional.
- Ghost friendly! I may message you for a check in, but if I don't hear from you I won't spam you.
I abide by site guidelines regarding any potentially graphic material. I do not encourage any of the behaviours displayed through characters, and I do not encourage any forms of harm upon anyone in any way.
I have a few important things I want to say about both writing, and myself as a writer. Please bear with me real quick.
I struggle with mental health. Due to this, sometimes I may be absent. For related reasons, I may be unable to respond entirely. For long periods of time. I cannot overstate that. I love this hobby, and will inform you when possible that I won't be available. I can absolutely extend this courtesy to you. Alternatively, we can establish an interest check system with each other. If you lose interest because of my absence, I totally understand.
My second note is that I love to write stories that deal with difficult topics such as mental health struggles, trauma, loss, and grief. I approach these subjects with respect, and often personal experience. Not your thing? Just tell me!
This is just an assortment of genres or tropes I'm down for. Pair with angst, romance, and other genres. You do not have to pick from this list! If you have an idea to share, please do.

This is just a very long list of media that has heavily influenced my tastes in horror. I am extremely normal about these- especially if they're in bold (I am still fixating on them). Really at this point it's just a media list, but if we share interests that's cool. I don't necessarily plan on rping from a fandom perspective, but I'm not totally opposed.

This is a list of prompts that I've been thinking about for plots, or starters. I thought to keep them general, and we can use the genres interchangeably. Everything is just for ideas, so nothing is set in stone. Feel free to skip or skim! Also I'm still adding to this, hoping to find more inspirations eventually. Sorry if, when you saw this, it was in terrible condition. There were many spelling/grammar errors because I had meant to keep it in draft- and posted instead.
No One Answered (Apocalyptic/Cosmic)
It sounded like the gentle clinking of wind chimes at first. Then It grew to the drone of a long held trumpet, before striking down to rattle the earth. It filled the air and left no room for any other sound. Then, darkness. When you awoke, there was no one around.
That was the beginning of the end. Bodies had risen into the air, heads facing the sky like beacons directing their light. They hung motionlessly, and attempts to bring them down failed. Those seemed to be the only 'people' left, at first. Then others appeared. Some crawled, clicked, groaned. Some had changed in ways you couldn't describe- because it hammered in your skull like a warning bell to even glance their way. At the shores of lakes and oceans, many bodies stood still, facing the water, and turning to nothing but monuments of fauna and bone. Something has changed, something has taken hold. You haven't seen a single other living person in months. All that's left are shells roaming the earth. Sometimes they mimic voices they once knew. Was it to toy with you? Sometimes they cry, or whisper. When they can find you, they want you. It's like they sense you have not succumbed as they have. Suffered as they have. You don't know how it all began. You don't know why you bother surviving. Maybe you don't know you're being tracked. It's not all lost, yet. You're not all alone- you'll find soon enough.
Hotwire (Scifi/Dystopian)
The halogen bulbs in the bathroom are unflattering; casting ugly shadows and buzzing in your ear. The world outside thrums, breathes, lives. Everything's hot and humid, and the air soaks up the sweat of hundreds of other bodies. Strobe lights blink at you from the cracks- It's all contained behind a dingy bathroom door. There's a sense of oncoming dread, a crescendo not rising with the beat in the walls. Your heart aches in a gross way, and you feel wary of it all. You thought the mass chaos would mask your presence- it was smart to hide away in a crowd on a thriving Saturday night. The song gradually fades, a new rhythm taking over. It's entrancing, if all other sensations weren't so...dirty. You pull out a cigarette. Just as you go to light it, a gun clicks behind you. Cold steel meets the back of your skull.
Burning Teeth (Folk Horror/Cosmic Horror)
"God of Many". That's what they called it. "God of the Earth". They worshipped it in an overgrown wooden shed made into some kind of bastard church. Sacrificed rats and baby birds to it. Ritualized themselves to it. Said it would speak in their ear while they kneel on dirt floors; bodies rotting, hanging with fat ticks and filled with worms. The farthest gone were none but soil and bone, and yet they still breathed within the shed. It ate ravenously of it's followers, and offered nothing but a future of wonder. When you found them, be it as a hiker, a squatter, or maybe a lost soul with a broken down car who chanced the woods- they were nearly decimated. All but few remained in good health. The clock is about to stop. The time has finally come, from however long these children of the God of Many have fed this infant thing. Now it is ready to breach from the soil, the only one sacrifice left be the one person who seems disillusioned and afraid. Afraid to die. Will the final lamb not fall victim to the slaughter? Will the new God not rise, as has been written in the walls of this church for thousands of years?
Unreality (Backrooms Related)
You might not remember how it happened. It was in the blink of an eye. You were doing nothing in particular- at least not anything you believe would warrant this. You stood up, or opened a door, or went to get out of bed; and now you're here. This immeasurable, unholy place. Filled with layers, and doors, and things that you wish you had never seen. You started in the Offices, and whether or not you stayed there doesn't make much of a difference. This is a labyrinth, each way down only leading somewhere no more discernible than the last. The deeper you go, the more alien the world is- the more dangerous. You know there have to be other things here, other people even, but none of them have been friendly. Maybe, hopefully, you'll be lucky enough to find someone who's just as willing to work together in order to escape. Because if there's one thing you're realizing; it's that you can't get out of here alone.
The Oldest Tree Still Stands (Cosmic horror/Creature Feature)
The forest is old, giant beyond belief, and isolated. What grows there can change in the blink of an eye; the soil never rests. The trees hold ancient secrets, and the glimmering mist that settles on the low points of the hills has the ability to transform things beyond recognition. It comes in tides, rising as high as the cusps of seemingly unmarred mountains. It glitters like silver, catches the moonlight like a beautiful necklace. Everything inside the forest talks- speaks languages long forgotten or beyond recognition. How long has this place been separated from the world? How much longer still, before someone can finally put it on the map? Cursory glances into the depths beyond craggy, sharp coasts reveal shipwrecks older than your fathers, and their fathers before them. How did you end up there? Where did you come from? Will you escape before something else finds you? A beast, the mist, the night, the moon herself holds a malicious air here. It's only so long before you misstep, and you, despite your loneliness, are not alone.
Keywords or phrases are mostly just short imagery descriptions I've had stuck in my head, or used in writing that I liked a lot. They're not particularly special, but if they can inspire some ideas for an RP, feel free to use/add them! It's quite a jumbled list, so again, feel free to skip or skim.
