For months, the internet has been buzzing with anticipation for Quartz & Aether, an elite music festival set to debut in just a few days, at the start of May. Set on an uninhabited island southwest of Ireland, it promises a whole lot: a star-studded lineup, communal art installations, free love (and, thankfully, free condoms) under the full moon, and a chance to “get in touch with your inner witch”. Influencers have been spreading the word, and although tickets aren’t cheap, they’re selling out fast. Already, chartered seaplanes are bringing attendees in to settle into the campgrounds, and by the time the opening ceremony starts, the grounds will be filled with people.

However, that’s not to say they’ll be filled with humans.

The fae tend to keep to themselves, but when conditions are just right, the veil between their world and the human world grows thin. When this happens, faeries can slip across to take on a human form and cause mayhem. As it happens, one such rift is forming on the same island as Quartz and Aether- and, if the fae can put all the right preparations in place, it can be made into a permanent doorway between the planes, accessible only to the Fair Folk and those they grant their favor to.

When the magic and mundane cross paths, it will take a clear head to see through the glamour. So open your eyes wide, keep a piece of cold iron on your person, and choose your words carefully. And above all- be wary of who’s listening when you give out your name.

Long story short: Quartz & Aether is a New-Age music festival for the rich and spoiled. Picture Fyre Fest if it wasn't an unmitigated disaster, and also if it had a witchy vibe to it. Now, add faeries, and all the chaos that comes with them. Players can be human or fae, and though humans will start out in the dark about the magic here, it won't be long before the two collide. Help out with the effort to build a permanent gateway between worlds, or sabotage it. Take revenge on the humans encroaching on your territory, or protect them from harm. Outwit the fae, or fall under their thrall. We'll see how it all goes, right?
