Prologue: Aidance

+ - + - + - + - + - + Corey’s POV + - + - + - + - + - +

The damped cool alleyway was filled with the smell of angst and misery. This part of Quantum wasn't the prettiest area you'd wanna be around in because of the criminality amongst the Lower Quantum. I've tried to send over guards from the Higher Quantum, but Iulia always said that the Lower Quantum was a waste of time. How do they know if they've never tried to help these people; not everyone here is as bad as others make them to be. How do I know this? I have some friends that are from here, family even, and I'm also from here. This part of the Quantum is all I knew as home as a child. At least that was before the accident...
I brush past somebody before I entered
Natalie's bar. She only has about 5-6 people come in during the day, but when the suns down? Let me tell you it's crowded. Though today was a Thursday one of the only day's she closes the bar down.

She spoke in a strident tone when she spoke at first, "We're closed-" Her toned quickly changed into a melodious tone when she spoke again.

"Corey!" She clasped her hands together. "It is so good to see you. How are you, hon?"

I sit down at the bar and shrug in response, "You know how it is." She nods in comprehension.

"Still looking for your lost sister?" Natalie queries as she hands me a pint of tequila. "What was her name again?"

"KC. Her name is... KC" I popped the cap off of the tequila before taking a swift drink.

I glance at
Natalie and noticed her worried expression. With an arched brow I question, "What's got you so distraught?"

She let out a hefty sigh, "Do you really believe your sister deserves a second chance?"

My eyes darkened at her words. She knows how I feels whenever we talk about this topic with each other. "Yes, I do. Before she lost.. control... She taught me that no matter the type of the person everyone deserves a second chance. Everyone becomes who they are for a reason. KC... KC deserves a second chance like she gave to for so many others."

She crossed her arms and said, "From my experience giving someone a second chance is like giving them another bullet because they missed the first one. You have to be careful who you give a second chance to. Even with your sister, you haven't seen her for over seven years. How can you be so sure your KC is still in there?"

"Why wouldn't she be."

"Because things change over time. Life, animals, objects, weather, humans, witches, war, and many more, but most importantly family. Who you view as family can change overtime. Before she "vanished" what did you say to her that could've been a reason why she left you and her old life behind?"

My body tensed up at her words. In the past whenever we had these conversations I would never tell her what I said. Just that I held a great amount of regret for what I said. "I... I got to go." I place the bottle of tequila down and quickly dash out of the building as fast I could.

"COREY, WAIT-" Ignoring her wishes I left and sprinted into the cold acid rain. I needed to get back to the kingdom before it sets at dawn anyways before things got really rough around here.

+ - + - + - + - + - + Celestia's POV + - + - + - + - + - +

Blood trips from my blade as I walk through the corridors of the dungeon. Jess skips behind me while Star keeps a steady pace beside them.

"So who are we pulling out again? Trov- Trovrick-? Revtrox? Ra-"

"Rectrix. Mum, said his name is Rectrix, Jess.

Star
rolls her eyes when Jess responded with, "I was about to say that! Jeez, no need to have such an attitude."

I stop and turn around and send them both daggers before whisper-yelling, "Will you two please stop arguing." I turn around and went back to walking through the corridors while muttering, "Bloody hell."

I stop once we get to the end of the corridor. I see
Jess about to question me, but I put a hand up singling them to keep their mouth shut. I pull my right dark gray glove off my hand and place my hand against the wall. As the wall collapsed between my fingertips I heard a sarcastic clap. I narrow my eyes with what lays in front of me after I put my glove back on. My voice spat with disgust when I spoke his name, "Rectrix."

"Aww, don't be like that, KC. We're all friends here after all!" He cocked his head to the side as he spoke.

My teeth and fist clinched when
he used my dead name. "I go by Celestia now, and we're far from being friends."

He arched a brow. "Are we? Then what are doing here right now? Looks to me your saving me."

"I could care less if you were being tortured right in fact I would enjoy it, but sadly I need you for something. I need you to take me to the Archway."

Rectrix eyes widen in shock. "You've changed."

"I get that a lot."

"Are you sure this guy is an all-powerful demon? He looks like a mummy." Jess studied Rectrix's appearance. Star let out a small chuckled before I sent her a glare shutting her up.

I look back to
Rectrix before continuing speaking to him, "Like I was saying.-"

"Your... "gang" seems awfully... interesting to say least." Rectrix spoke with a snarky grin.

My eye twitched after
he interrupted me. I knew exactly what he was trying to do. I'm not going to let his annoyance make me go rouge. "I could care less of what you think about them. I just want you to help me get to the Archways."

"What makes you think I can even help?"

"Because your the only being from this Multiverse that has traveled to another Multiverse."

Rectrix let out a hummed tune, "And who exactly told you that?"

The sounds of clanking heels were heard from behind me. Once they stopped someone with a rich Russian accent spoke, "I did little brother."

"Feather?"
