" you know you make a good older sister someday. Okay i give Max a benefit of a doubt. I wont blame her for this anymore and i will work with you guys to put an end to this." Yui says as she senses the yoma and two magical girls. She thinks they can handle that it.

Tsubaki skidded to a stop, staring up at the Yoma. Eight feet in height, the creature was sickeningly thin. It tilted its head, seemingly looking at the pair that had just arrived. Stringy black hair hung limply from its head. "Well I wasn't expecting that," she murmured, drawing her sword. The Yoma just stood there, head tilted ever so slightly. Where its face should have been was a solid mask of dark metal.

" I doubt i could become and older sister, my mother died some years ago and my father, is unable to marry anyone " katja said not exactly seeing the complement for what it was. Still this did leave things in what she woudl call awkward as she had not expected thing to be so simple, she had expected to have to argue with Yui. Katja senses the yoma as well but the others could take care of it she had something more important to do.

" So then as i am being treated as a friend what is it friends do at each others houses i haven't really ever had any?" Katja asked never really having talked to anyone abotu anything that didn't directly relate to being a magical girl.

"Not really what meant." Says yui as her mother comes in with tea and small pastries.

"Katja dear are you staying the night." Her mother said places the tea in front of yui and katja.

"Mooom!"

"What yui it okay with us if you have friends stay here? Just think about it." Her mom said.

"As far as knowing what to do in this situation. I dont really know i never had anybody at my house. I never had friends either." Yui says with a bit of delight in her eyes. " i am guessing you had the same idea i did about the yoma tsubaki and max are fighting."

" If Yui doesn't mind i have no problem staying the night " Katja said to Yui's mom before she was shooed out of the room. Once again it seemed that Kyubey was rubbing of in her manner of answering questions.

She then turned her attention back to Yui who apparently had been friendless though Katja could not see why she assumed most everyone that wasn't like her would have been able to make at least one friend. Well that was now an unfair assumption it seemed so she would have to evaluate her approach to others with this new information.

" The two of them should be more tan able to handle one Yoma, assuming it is not a repeat performance of earlier" She said not as an insult just that the yoma had taken an oddly long time to kill " I believe that we are supposed to talk about cute boys or cute girls and other girly things" Katja said only having been girly in her life before the illness.

Max levitated out her knives and examined all the points of exposed skin on the Yoma. That would be its weak point. But this spot... already? She supposed the time had come to quite literally fight the repercussions of her actions. @KageYuuki

"I can't shake a bad feeling about this one," Tsubaki murmured, adjusting her grip on her sword. The Yoma continued to just stand there. It wasn't until Tsubaki started to move that it reacted. Letting out an ear piercing screech, the creature lunged at the white haired girl. The blow sent her tumbling down the street before she even had a chance to try and react.

This thing was fast.

"Tsubaki!" Max yelled as she shot her knives at it. The Yoma knocked them out of the air with three quick swipes and charged Max. Max narrowly dodged, tumbling to the ground from her desperate jump as the Yoma skid to a halt. Jeez, what kinda grief was this?! Crap, what goes around comes around.

Tsubaki shook her head a little as she stood. "Alright, can't say I was expecting something like that..." For something that looked so thin and fragile, it hit like a truck! With a low growl, she sent arcs of energy towards the Yoma's legs. Her attack had been dodged with only a shallow cut to show for the girl's effort. Speed was clearly on the Yoma's side as it circled Tsubaki and attempted to claw through her back.

While the blow caused her to stumble a little, Tsubaki's cuirass was able to prevent the attack from really doing any damage.

Max shot some knives at the Yoma to distract it before narrowly dodging another blow. She was a very capable fighter, even before becoming a magical girl, and her main fighting style was with speed. Normally, she'd be much quicker than any competitor. But this... she could barely even dodge! This was the first time in quite a long time she felt an enemy was fast enough to be a large threat to her.

She didn't much care for the feeling.

While the Yoma slid to a halt, Max shot at its exposed backside and ran over to Tsubaki. Most of the knives were too slow, and were blocked when the Yoma turned around. One of them clipped the Yoma's wing, but didn't do much. One, however, hit its mark between to wing joints. The Yoma screeched as Max made it to Tsubaki.

"I think its exposed skin is weak." The Yoma stared at Max, almost glaring. "I've got it mad, but I'll need you to grab its attention. If you keep it distracted, I can get an advantage and really do some damage while its focused on you. Can you handle that?" Max said. The Yoma stood sedentary, like it had at the beginning of the battle, glaring at Max.

"Yeah, I'll see what I can do to keep it busy." It wasn't like Tsubaki really had any plans of her own at the moment. The blade of her sword glowed faintly as she gave the weapon a small twirl. In terms of combat experience Tsubaki was fairly lacking. Though using her weapon and power was becoming a little more natural feeling for her, she still had a ways to go. But for only a few days of fighting she wasn't doing too horribly.

"Alright ugly, why don't we play for awhile?" Tsubaki quickly circled the Yoma before swinging her sword, the blade extending in a beam of white. Still so focused on Max, it hadn't noticed the other girl make her move. It paid for that mistake with one of its wings. Tsubaki had managed to sever one with her attack.

There aren't any words to describe the sound that came from the Yoma before it charged her.

Max stumbled as the Yoma's noise startled her. But she had no time, there was a plan to be done. With one wing severed, the Yoma would be quite off balance. It's quick dashes would lean towards the side with three wings. Hopefully Tsubaki kept that in mind. Max didn't want to yell to her and risk distracting her.

Ever so slowly, Max began to creep her way over to the Yoma. She summoned five knives and prepared them for the golden opportunity.

Tsubaki winced, the noise from the Yoma left her ears ringing. Black liquid oozed from from the wing had been cut, leaving small bubbling puddles. With a sound that was close to a growl, the Yoma lunged after Tsubaki. It was clear the thing wanted revenge for its lost wing. Though it seemed the odd number had slowed the Yoma enough Tsubaki could more effectively dodge the claw swipes.

The Yoma was growing more enraged, either it would be easier to bring down or more difficult.

With Tsubaki now effectively dodging the attacks, Max was affirmed that she could take her time. Of course she didn't want to take TOO much time and risk Tsubaki slipping up and getting killed or something, but this was a good opportunity. She had to capitalize on it.

She continued closing the gap. She had bridged about 1/2 of it, though the Yoma's erratic movements meant it was hard to gauge how close she was. The criteria for making her attack was mainly that she had to make sure she hit. If she missed, the Yoma could be alerted and that would ruin the plan. If only she could find some way to get a lock on its back... she considered simply surrounding the area in knives and closing in, but it would become alerted, had a high probability of failure, and she risked hitting Tsubaki.

Distracting the creature was far easier given its reduced speed. Add in the Yoma's movement becoming more erratic and less accurate, and Tsubaki figured she should be able to keep it from catching onto Max's movements. Tsubaki had switched to more defensive movements, only attacking if it ever appeared the Yoma's focus was beginning to shift from her. She didn't know why Max seemed to be taking so long, but figured the Yoma really wasn't giving her much in the way of an opening.

However, the Yoma paused for a brief moment, standing perfectly still once more. Before Max would have a chance to line up her daggers and strike, it used its tattered wings to lunge at its original speed. The small gap didn't leave Tsubaki with any time to react. Sharp claws pierce through her cuirass and protruded from her back. The girl's crimson eyes widened, nothing had even remotely gotten through her armor before. Pain had yet to take hold but panic wasted no time in gripping her. Tsubaki only reacted as she swung her sword in an attempt to sever or at least maim the Yoma's arm. The effort was only rewarded with a claw hooking through her wrist as the Yoma lifted her from the pool of sanguine that had already formed.

That's when the pain hit.

Tsubaki choked, unable to so much as scream as pure pain tore through her form. Sure she'd been wounded a few times taking on Yoma but nothing nearly as bad as this. The 'angel' only tilted its head slightly as it seemingly looked down at her.

Like a curious child tearing apart a butterfly.

Max choked a bit as she saw Tsubaki get impaled. Damn her for taking so long. She quickened the pace and raised her arm as seven knives appeared. She thrust them at the Yoma before making ten more and thrusting them again. She repeated this process, heedless of whether it was even working.

"I've been tasked with killing innocent people!" Max said before throwing a barrage. "I'm not going to let even MORE people die!" She yelled as she threw more knives as tears built at her eyes. "I'm sorry for what I did to you!" She yelled. "But don't you DARE HURT HER!" Max finished before rapidly throwing many barrages of knives.

Distracted by the bleeding nuisance that now dangled from its claws, the Yoma had left its wings completely unguarded. A vast majority of the blades hit their mark, digging into its body without mercy. Letting out another deafening howl, the Yoma hurled Tsubaki towards Max. It staggered from the effort, collapsing to its knees.

The attack had left the Yoma considerably weakened, its wings crippled by the blades.

Max braced herself and grabbed Tsubaki, setting her down as gently as possible, before creating ten knives which hovered behind her. She charged at the Yoma, emanating a gutteral battle cry, before splitting her knives into two equal lines and launching them all into the Yoma's eyes as she got close, one after the other.

Tsubaki gasped as Max managed to catch her. She clenched her teeth feeling the warm blood already spilling on the ground around her. The Yoma snarled at Max, trying to push itself up as she charged it. The metal mask did nothing in stopping the blades from hitting their mark. A shrill scream erupted from its throat as it fell back on the ground, feebly clawing at the blades before finally laying still.

Max levitated the knives out of its body and thrust them back in multiple times, consumed by anger for a few moments. Eventually she recalled the knives and looked over at Tsubaki. She began to make her way over before a tight pain gripped her chest. She fell to the ground as the Yoma turned into grief seeds behind her. Man... I kind of just killed my own child. Max began to get back up before stumbling in pain. I don't get it... I can block pain with my soul gem. Why is this so-?" Max held up her soul gem to see... Oh... crap. Swirling blackness filled her soul gem as she doubled over in pain. The pressure was growing. Max began crawling, trying to make it over to Tsubaki while she fumbled with her pocket for the grief seed she stored earlier. Crap! If I don't purify myself soon, I could die... or worse! She stumbled a few feet before Tsubaki and fell to the ground, the grief seed tumbling out of her hand and away from her. Max began trying to use telekineses, but to no avail. She reached out and doubled over again. Just... out of... reach!

Tsubaki could barely move, pain wracked her entire body. She couldn't understand why she hadn't lost consciousness despite the dark crimson pool around her body. She watched as an enraged Max finished off the crippled Yoma and tried to walk back over to her. Her crimson hues widened as Max collapsed just a few steps away, a grief seed tumbling from her hand as she curled up in pain.

As Max fell, Tsubaki managed to see the darkening soul gem. Dammit! She must have overdone it or something... Tsubaki battled against her weakened and pained body, grimacing as she tried to force herself to move. They couldn't die here, not like this, and not so soon. A sputtering gasp escaped her lips as bolts of agony shot through her form as she tried to move. Tears streaked her face as it took what little strength she could muster past the pain just to roll the seed back in Max's direction.

Max grabbed onto the seed and shakily put it to her soul gem. She gasped as the grief was absorbed and she dropped the grief seed to the ground. Max was still shaking from the trauma as she quickly crawled over to Tsubaki. She reached for her soul gem, but stopped just short. Always ask consent, no matter how serious the injury. Thanks first aid training. Max took in a shaky breath.

"I can manipulate your soul gem to block out the pain," Max said. "If you do that, we can focus better on getting you patched up. Would you like me to do that?" She tried to stay calm and collected as she spoke, but her voice invariably shook with her words.

Tsubaki grimaced, but managed a nod. If they could block out pain like this with help from their soul gems, then why wasn't this something they all knew already? The gem that rested on the center of her collarbone glowed faintly, though the battle had left it a little clouded. Not nearly as bad as Max's had been, but enough it could be seen.

Max nodded and gently touched Tsubaki's soul gem. It glowed with a white light as Max moved her fingers around on it a bit. Any moment now and Tsubaki's pain would disappear. In the meantime, she'd need to think of a way to patch her up. She should be better by morning, and even without patching this obviously wasn't fatal, but it would certainly be a problem.

Tsubaki let out a slow breath that she didn't even realize she was holding as the pain faded. "Thanks . . ." She murmured, still not sure if she wanted to move or not. "You'd think this is something we'd all know how to do."
