The Lone Wolf
Long ago In the land of Ationa, war decimated the land. Demons walked among humans and fed off their anguish, fear, and pain. All seemed lost until a few humans sold their souls to turn the tide of war. With their newfound power, they formed a protocol for the restoration of peace. In the present day, every person is born with a distinctly shaped birthmark on their wrist. Only two people in the world have the same birthmark and those two people are soulmates. One particular city thrives on the happy couples and the peace that is invoked by the soulmate "system". It was no accident that people have soulmates, the government rules who is paired with who and they do so through a devil. Each official sold their souls for the ability to manipulate the feeling of love. They themselves determine the two people who are best suited based on their needs. They control the peace of the land through this system and can destroy the balance with just two people. What happens when ten individuals are unable to be manipulated and cannot be paired with a soulmate? Will they find love among themselves? will they fight over each other? Or will they try to burn the system?
