Project Purity (DrTrollinski & Greg2344)

(I don't think you read my post properly. He went into the building beside the one they were in, and he locked himself in a bathroom.)

He quickly got up and unlocked the door, taking the unconscious Daniel from his arms and setting him down against the wall.

"MY PARENTS WOULDN'T THINK SHIT! BECAUSE THEY'RE DEAD!" He cried as he harshly shoved him back. "And my dad wouldn't CARE! Because he's not even my real dad!" He pushed him again and stepped away, quickly wiping the tears from his eyes. ".. The Bull's as dead as they are! As dead as the people he murdered!" He sobbed, turning away. ".. I don't care if people aren't proud, or if you're disappointed... I've waited eight years... Eight years after fighting for survival and forgetting EVERYTHING!" He quickly punched a wall beside him and leaned against it, sobbing and crying. ".. Like everyone else is so fucking perfect... You can't trust anyone in this world anymore." He sobbed, and then quickly turned around and ran up to him, grabbing his shirt and pulling him down close. "How do I know you weren't there?! How do I know you didn't help them butcher everyone?! HOW CAN I KNOW THAT!?" He cried. Walker was just extremely upset. He didn't know what sort of answer he was expecting, but he was starting to hyperventilate, and he'd really driven himself temporarily crazy.

"You really think I'd do that? I was in a separate raider gang then that guy, and your dad now, is your real dad. Why don't you tell me, why do you think I stopped being a raider? I didn't kill for fun like these guys did, I did it to survive, I was your age when I joined the raiders, I didn't have a random friendly man find me like your dad. Raiders found me.... And cared about me and I cared about them. You'll never truly know if I was there when it happened but you'll have to take my word for it. Have I ever lied to you before? Would I ever lie to you before?" Jax said.

".. And so were they!" He cried, burying his face in his chest and weakly punching it over and over. "You were no better! No better than The Bull! No better than me or Daniel!" He sobbed to him, is punches eventually being reduced down to nothing. ".. Just--.. Just more wolves in sheep's clothing, just like the rest of us!" He said, and then he just hugged him. ".. You still killed, still pillaged, still murdered... It doesn't matter HOW you fuckin' dress it..."

".. And you never told me." He burst out into tears once again and clung to him, the blood still slowly dripping from his suit of armor, his hair, and his skin.

"Trust me I know I'm no better then the bull, I still hate myself for that. I haven't even been a raider in about 10 years. What more can I do to be forgiven for the sins of my past... Die?" Jax said. Jax didn't care about the codes anymore or project purity. He walked out of the building and just walked out into the wasteland.

No he didn't. Walker didn't let him walk out of the building.

"No." Walker sobbed. "You can do what's right." He said, falling to his knees in front of him and hugging his leg. ".. We all do things to survive, and--.." He shook his head. ".. We all do things we regret, but--.. Please..." He sobbed, looking up at him. ".. Don't walk out on us now." He whimpered as he looked into his eyes. ".. Whatever you do, please don't leave us... You're our family, Jax... I ain't askin' you to die." He said, shaking his head. ".. I'm sorry." He said, hugging both of his legs tight. ".. I'm so, so sorry! Just please don't go!" He cried out, promptly bursting into tears again.

Jax couldn't leave now, he just turned around silently crying and went down on his knees and started hugging walker while crying. "I'm sorry, I just don't know anymore, you don't have to tell me things to make me feel better about myself. I know what I am." He quietly said.

".. You're a good man now, Jax... That's what you are." He sobbed. ".. I believe you, okay?" He said whilst hugging him tight and rubbing his back with one hand. ".. You went clean, and you helped us... That's no reason to want to die." He added, his face buried in his shoulder as he held him close. It was nice to have a hug like this. He may have been covered in blood, but it was nice to have this over everything else that could be happening.

".. I love you, Jax." He blurted. The words just slipped out of his mouth. Yeah, maybe Walker did view him as family. He didn't really seem to be shocked that he'd said that, and just kept on hugging him as if it was a normal way of life.

Jax hasn't had someone say they loved him since his parents, 20 years ago. It felt good to hear those words, once again. "I love you too walker." He said while hugging him. That made Jax think about the girl at underworld they saved. "Is she even still alive?" He wondered. "You wanna get going now? I'll carry Daniel." Jax said.

".. No--.. We need to stay here." He sniffled. ".. I'm covered in blood and Daniel needs to rest. He can't be out on the road. I need to suture his wounds." He explained as he wiped his nose. ".. Let's just hole up here for a week or so, please?" He said as he turned and walked into the bathroom and stripped off down to his underwear, placing the blood-covered armor in the bathtub. ".. Get Daniel tucked up on the couch... I'll come and see to him soon." He smiled weakly.

"It's really really not safe here. There is a town to the east from here it's only a couple hours away. It's called "Canterbury commons" let's just go there and rest." Jax said. "Let's also check the armory for ammo and what not." He added.

".. Jax..." He looked at him. ".. Can we at least stay here for one night? Just so I can wash my armor and give me some time to suture Daniel? It'll be dark soon, and I don't want to be walking around in the dark." He sighed as he turned the water on for the tub. It ran slowly, but better than nothing. ".. Please. We can block the door, and over night, me and you will take shifts on watch, okay?" He said, turning on the faucet of the sink and washing his face with it; he started washing his hair as well.

"Ok fine, I'm gonna check the armory, stay here with Daniel." Jax said. Jax went down to the armory and surprisingly the codes worked! He walked in and saw some guns and ammo. He was happy with his rifle, so all he took was ammo for his and walkers guns. While looking around the room he found a small box labeled "To Jax". He opened it up and there was a note inside it that read, "it's me zed, I know you will find this because you always talked about the armory when you were with us. I just want you to know I miss you. You were like my son. If you want to come see me again come to rivet city, I decided to stop being a raider and settled there. I hope to see ya again bud!" Jax was heart broken. Zed has to be dead now, when Jax left the raiders zed was about 46 years old..... And that was ten years ago. Jax felt sad that he would never see his "dad"? Again. Inside the box under the note was an old Polaroid picture. Jax remembered this, they found an actual working Polaroid camera! It had to be the last one in. existence he thought. In all Jax's years of scavenging he never found a working camera again.

(The photo. Jax is the second to the left and zed is the first to the left. Jax was also about 24 when the picture was taken.)Jax remembered this! It was when him and his raider gang were at paradise falls. A poor brotherhood of steel soldier wandered by and Jax and his raider friends murdered him. Jax remembered the pride he felt when he killed the soldier. His friends and zed were so proud of him. But now... All he felt from the photo was.... Shame.

When Jax returned from the armory, he found Walker crouched down in front of the couch and slowly suturing the wound on Daniel's leg, his tongue poked out at an angle in focus as he did so. It was hard to work with no light, but it was better than not doing it at all - he was doing some nice neat stitches on his leg when he walked back in, and he was only in his underwear himself at this current time.

"Hey, man... You find anything there?" He asked, tying the stitching in his leg and then cutting the material; he then carefully flipped Daniel over and sighed as he looked at his back. That was going to need suturing as well. "Hopefully some ammo, over anything." He said with a smile.

"Nothing too interesting, just some ammo." He lied. He handed walker some of the ammo he found and asked "so how's Daniel?" Jax then walked over to the room next door and sat on a bed. When he walked over to the next room, the picture he had, fell out of his pocket onto the floor in front of walker. Jax didn't notice, he just said " ill be in the room next door resting, ok?" Then went to the room.

"He's good, yeah." He smiled. He cleaned off the wound on his back and then began gradually suturing that, as well, but then he saw the picture flutter down onto the ground in front of him. He sighed as he looked at it and then picked it up, holding it in front of his face. ".. 'Just some ammo', huh?" He said, his lips pursing together and curling inwards. He was a little offended now - So much for the 'not lying' thing they spoke of earlier. ".. I thought you said you'd never lie to me?" He said, thinking of the picture as he tucked it into his pocket and continued suturing Daniel up. He hid his eyes behind his hair now. He didn't really know what to think.

Jax was fast asleep in the bed in the next room. Before he fell asleep his memories were filled with memories of when he was a raider, but this time he remembered the good times he had with his old buddies. Instead of the bad memories of the people they murdered.....

Walker sighed sadly as he finished stitching up Daniel. This was all his fault. He bandaged him and covered him over with a blanket, followed by climbing under it at the opposite side of the couch and setting his head on the armrest. He pulled out the picture from his pocket and looked down at it. He started crying. He was quiet, but he started crying nonetheless as he scrunched the picture together in one hand, clutching it like it was the last thing he had left. He'd been lied to again, and now, he was debating on whether or not he should believe if Jax wasn't there when his family was killed.

Jax woke up the next morning and immediately checked the room next door to make sure the boys were safe. They were Still both asleep. He left two cans of beans next to them and two purified waters. He then walked back next door and ate some food himself. He still didn't notice that his picture was gone.

Walker was the first one to awake not long after Jax had come i.n. It had caused him to stir when Jax came in unannounced. As soon as he woke up and felt the picture that was still clutched in his hand, he realized something. Jax never spoke about that picture,Walker had never seen it before, and he happens to come back from the building full of bandits, and that happened to slip out of his pocket. Yeah, okay. It was announced. He was one of them.

He slowly got up and walked to the kitchen, looking at Jax for a moment before going over and sitting down opposite him.

"'Just some ammo', huh?" He said with a sad and almost angry smile as he shook his head and looked across the kitchen. ".. So much for 'never lying to me'." He added, taking a saddened deep breath.

"What are you talking about?" Jax said calmly, while putting his hand in his pocket. "Fuck me, he must have found the picture it's not in my pocket" he thought. He knew this was going to get ugly. He didn't even know how walker would react now. He was thinking that walker might just straight up shoot him on the spot.

".. You lied to me." He snarled softly. ".. After everything you said, and everything you promised... You lied to me." He said, looking down at the table as he turned back to face him. ".. And better yet, you found that picture in the building where all of those murderers were nested. Pretty funny, huh? How you said you never rolled with any of them, and yet... That's where you found it, locked away, safe and sound." He shook his head and looked up at him. ".. Now this is where you're going to tell me the truth." He looked him in the eyes. "You're going to look me in the eyes and tell me... Were you there at that little small highway town? Eight years ago?" He asked in a near enough whisper.
