Project Chimera - Nightmares (1x1) [Telios & MysticTrinket]

Telios

Onyx Dragon
"Compatible... You are good!" The scientist looked back at Tepid and smiled. "Please go ahead to the next room where you'll start with your transformation." The man got up from the seat and headed to the next room. So far so good... Tepid smiled to himself, but upon hearing someone whispering, he stopped. "They have no ideas what they are heading into, huh?" A scientist laughed to another one.

Tepid shrugged and continued walking. He turned around a corner and bumped into a girl. Both fell onto the floor. "Sorry... I wasn't looking where I was going..." He got up and reached out to the girl with a hand to help her get up.

@MysticTrinket

I starred back at him, slightly confused. Doesn't he see the monster I am? I don't think he has. Why is he so nice? I took his hand and looked him over as he helped me up. He had blackish hair, red glasses and this childish smile. He hasn't changed yet. The poor guy is in for a surprise. I noticed him wince a little and a hint of fear entered his eyes. I looked at our hands and noticed my claws digging into his skin. "Oh my Gosh!!! I am so so so sorry, Uhm, crap. Sorry, uh uh uh. Shoot uhm. I.. Uh... Are you bleeding? I will go and get a napkin and a uhm.. uh.. bandaid. Oh my gosh."

@Telios

"Nah I'm fine." Tepid smiled and dragged her up to her feet. "So how long have you been here?" He noticed her fangs and eyes while she spoke and felt the claws on her hand. "And mind if I ask something? You are changing into a tiger, right?"

"Oh good, uhm yeah. I have been here since the beginning, the family needed some compensation money. And yes, it is a tiger." I smiled shyly. This kid guy has no fear, how is this possible? "So, what are you here for? Do you know what is about to happen to you? I purposely let a little bit of pity in my strange eyes show. To show him that he needs to get out of here now.

"To change, naturally. I have no problem with money. But, well..." He chuckled nervously. "I have always wanted to be a wolf. Like furries. You know?" He went shy almost immediately as soon as he told her. He looked a away and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.

I couldn't help but giggle a little. This guy never grew up! hehehehe. "That's actually really cool. Hehe. What animal are you gonna change into?" I grab his arm, hoping to bring him out of his shell and show him I am actually interested in hearing his last real thoughts as a human.

"Well, a wolf, naturally." Tepid answered with another chuckle. "But I need to get going now. I'll see you later." He waved and started going to the transformation chamber, ready to change.

"Meet me here after the surgery! Expect pain!" I cried out. The poor soul. I hope he actually survives. Damn those lying bastards.

(They use nanites, not surgery. I should have told you that. xD And can't she tell him? Or had she already had a collar on her?)

Tepid chuckled and went down that hallway. He was nervous, but also excited. This feels like a dream come true...

The room Tepid just exited had scientists walking out of it. "Excuse me, Aren't you Tora, the one is supposed to get her collar replaced and not say a word until she gets it?" I nodded furiously and jogged off. Well jogged off at my pace which was a run for most scientists. I entered the room and was greeted by a second scientist. "Ah, Tora, took you long enough. Now since you have been one of thee, well, better participants, your collar now gives you much more freedom. We will meerly be observing what you plan to say and change it if needed. Enjoy your freedom." Her new collar was purple instead of black and had a little tag on it. Thanks for mocking me assholes. She began walking down the hallway and was stopped. "The new guy I just saw you talking with, make sure to show him around, Got it kiddo?" "Yes sir," A few paces in, I managed to here someone talking. "What's so different about this one?" "Well, this one has a tracking device in it. She is probably going to try and escape after the news. They have a feeling about all of the tigers." I froze. What news, and why the hell would I run?

I pretended to hear nothing and just stood where I told Tepid I would wait for him. I knew it wouldn't be more than an hour or so and decided to stand and wait, nodding off as I waited.

Tepid went into the chamber and talked to the scientist. A while later, he was laid onto a bed and got injected with a serum...

A couple of hours later, he went out of the chamber as a wolf. "This might need some time to get used to..." He walked on his new legs unsteadily. A while later, he walked normally and could even jog. "Hey." He waved, smiling at her as he jogged over to her. It seemed that he didn't even notice the brown collar around his neck yet.

I snorted awake and started blushing. "Oh, uh, hey there Wolfy, nice fur. I see you already got your sea legs. I was told that I have the honor of showing you around this magnificent place, ready?" Wow, these stuck up pricks now recognize humor, good for Tepid. I noticed the brown collar and immediately knew he was going to stick out like a sore thumb and silently vowed to make sure the kid was going to be okay.

"I don't think we have introduced ourselves, right?" Tepid smiled, his confidence seemingly getting better. "I'm Tepid Lenks. And yes. I'd love to have a tour around the place."

I smiled lightly. "Tora, seeing that you have your uniform, I'll show you were you get replacements and food, then the lunch room and yard. Then I'll show you your bunk, Lemme see your...." Tora notices the tag on Tepid's collar. "Collar.... Looks like you are near my bunk... Anyways, follow me." Why does he have a tag, are they going to track him to?

Tepid seemed fine with the collar, as if he was under its influences already. "Sounds nice. Let's go." He followed her to where they live. He looked at the garden as they passed it, and they eventually arrived at his bunk.

"This is your bunk, we usually only sleep here and we can spend our free time here as well. This place also let's us take college courses and we can get any degree we wish. Classes are always going on so there is no worry about coming in la..." The loudspeaker interrupted me as I was about to finish my sentence. "Attention. A Mandatory information meeting is going to be televised. All volunteers are required to watch in the theater. Please report immediately." I shrugged and signaled Tepid to follow me while panic ensued inside my brain. The announcement that will make me want to run. Here we go. We arrived and got some seating in the back. People started starring at us, no past us, at our collars. Everyone was identified by there collars and we were the odd balls. A large screen appeared with the leader of the project on the screen. People started cheering, even Tepid stood up and cheered, so I followed.

"Hello everyone! Both volunteers and the rest of the world. An important announcement about our project. The conspiracies about our government sanctioned organization are true. Our volunteers are going to be used and developed as weapons for war. We will always accept new members, but if you try to infiltrate our facility intending to free our volunteers, remember, they chose to be here and you will be eradicated if you try. Thank you for understanding, now, I have more important developing to do." For a half second, everyone was screaming and about to Riot, and then there was silence. A forced calm over everyone. Two or three people rose and began screaming, but had a second collar placed on them made of thick black leather that made them act as everyone else. A second scientist stood up on a platform to make an announcement.

"You are now under a forced calm. We will release you soon. You are now required to attend what will be called war classes. Those who try to escape will face a fate worse than death. Thank you for understanding." The scientist walked off of the platform and began to leave with other scientists and guards. The doors were locked and we were released from there trance. Well, they were, I realized that I had been in complete control of my own brain. I am just being monitored, I am just a test. I looked at Tepid waiting for his reaction to the news, knowing that for the moment, he should be free to say whatever he wants.

Tepid's ears perked up as the announcement suddenly started through the loud speakers. Once done, he followed Tora to the theater and too the seats in the back.

"Wh-What the--" He was about to panic until his mind shut down immediately. He quietly listened to the scientist on the stage, as obediently as a child. Once the announcement was done and doors were locked, his mind reboot and let him regain control over his body. "Ugh... What the hell...?"

"Tepid, hey man, are ya here? Do you understand what is happening? Are you okay?" I let my voice get a little bit more stern. Something wasn't right, it was like he couldn't remember anything. Whenever Tora had been under their influence she was completely aware.

"I understand...that we are going to be made into ruthless killing machines." Tepid sighed and leaned back into the chair. "And since when did they put this onto me?" He pointed at the brown collar around his neck but he knew better than pulling it off. He saw a few people tried and they got nasty shocks.

"Close quarter combat..." Tepid groaned. He didn't want to kill. All he want to be like what he is now. "We need to get out of this fucking place." He muttered.

"No shit Sherlock. I will think of something, Our bunks are right near each other, We got this." I noticed a little light on my tag suddenly turn on then off, then on again. I assumed that this was to show the scientists, or maybe myself when they were monitoring me. The collar flicked on and stayed. I coughed. "Uhm, we should get out of the chaos, I still need to show you the lunch room." I walked over to the door and tapped and we were let out.

Tepid looked at her and nodded, trying to act calm despite the situation. He followed her to the door and out of the theater. His collar sometimes gave off tiny shocks, reminding him to obey.

We walked off together to go and get some dinner because it was almost six pm then. "So, any idea as to what regular classes you want to take?" She said calmly hinting for him to do the same, silently pleading that he would catch on. She also kept glancing at the glass on the food table to see if her tag was on or not.

"I'm thinking about a few coding classes... But I'm not sure if they have those here." Tepid answered. He ordered his food and waited, sometimes glancing at her tag.
