Fantasy Project Anima

Crimson watched as the man got up before nodding. She would consider it, but most likely it would be a no. She was not working for herself at the moment, well not on big jobs anyway. After he left she relaxed back with a small sigh. Well at least it's a nice comfy bed they will be in. Hearing the door she was half expecting Anjin to walk back in to talk with her, but seeing a maid she leaned back again. A light laugh left her as she was called ma'am. "Please Have him come here. May as well since we are staying" she shrugged before looking over to the maid then standing up. "Is there anything to eat around here?'

The maid only gave her a nod for both instruction and question. She scooted away with minimal sound. After a few moment passed, Gills poked his face into the room. He was no longer dressed in haphazard clothes, instead given a set of clothing which, like Anjin and the other Iroqirin people, were better suited for the harsh desert. A long scarf covered his head, leaving opening only for his face. It was apparent that he wasn't comfortable yet in that attire. He pulled down the scarf, letting his hair out.

"They said I won't survive the sandstorm with the trash I was wearing. These desert people are weird, I tell you...at least they gave them to me free of charge because of Anjin's name. Here, I got what you asked for."

He threw her a bundle toward her. Inside was a collection of individual clothing pieces, making a full set. "When I asked for something similar to bandit or rogue, they said that's the best they could give."

He plopped down on the seat across from her, catching his breath. "So, what did you talk about with Anjin?"

Crimson watched the maid leave with a small sigh. Hopefully he got her something nice to wear. Just as this thought came to her she watched Gills poke his head. She laughed slightly at his words before catching the cloths. Well they looked alright so far. After looking at them for a moment she stood and walked to the bed and laid them out. "Just the girl and such...he doesn't like you, but we can stay here for as long as we need." She started to strip down knowing he would look away. "He wants to pay us to fight in there war....and he would like her to meet Arty" she spoke as she pulled on her cloths. It didn't take her long before she was sitting fully clothed in front of him "they aren't that bad actually" she smirked as she pulled the hood down for her own hair to be free.

Gills listened halfheartedly, giving a vacant stare toward the torch hanging above them. He wasn't paying attention to what she said, until she began to strip. Suddenly he felt really uncomfortable, and turned around in a panic.

"Woman, what the fuck?!" He groaned. Why the heck was she stripping down so casually in front of him? He was clearly becoming conscious about her body. His face starting to glow bright red as his imagination started to go wild. He only turned around when she mentioned about war, and about Arty. Thankfully she was already dressed at that point.

He sank into the couch, looking downward to hide his face from her. No way would he allow her to see him being embarrassed.

"Well, what do you think? Should we join in their war?" He asked back. Somehow he didn't sound to be against the idea. "I don't particularly mind, as long as they pay us back...it will take a long while for us to cross the desert by ourselves. On the contrary, having a future ruler of a kingdom on our back is reassuring. If they do win, of course."

Crimson watched him as he spoke with his head down. What was his deal? She tipped her head a bit before smirking. His face was red! "Then I'll go tell him that we will take the job..." She hummed before getting up and standing in front of him. Teasing him will be fun. She smirked as she touched his shoulder and pushed him to the back of the couch. "You know it's rude not to look at the person your talking to" she smiled down at him before touching his cheek for a moment before moving back. "I'll be back so don't go anywhere" she winked at him before she started to the door, holding back a laugh. He looked cute with a red face. Opening the door she shook her head before leaving to find Anjin, not wanting to give Gills a chance to freak out on her.

The maid from before had returned into the hallway with a cart full of food. Apparently after fetching up Gills from the entrance, she went to the kitchen to prepare Crimson's second request. She looked a bit confused upon seeing Crimson walking out of the room.

"Are you going out, Ma'am? I had just finished the supper that you asked f-"

Her words were cut short by a loud wail coming from the room.

"W-what is that, Ma'am? Is there a dying boar inside? It sounds full of agony!?"

No, it was just Gills questioning his life choices...

Crimson looked over at the maid before laughing softly over the loud noise Gills made. "Don't worry it's just my companion. " She smiled before moving from the door. "Just put in inside, I'm sure he is hungry." Probably not after what she did. "I would like to speak with Anjin what room is he located in?" She asked as she moved out of the way to watch her enter the room with Gills freaking out inside. It would be fun to stay and watch him go crazy over what she had done, but this must come first. Maybe she will tease him more later.

"If...you say so, Ma'am..."

The maid was still cautious over the death cry going on inside. She gulped. Did she really have to do this?

"Master Anjin is in his room upstairs with Mistress Namu. They are currently having supper as well. His room is at the end of the corridor."

After replying to her query, she began preparing herself and then opened the door. It was said that what she saw was so embarrassing, Gills paid her quite a fortune so she won't tell anyone else...

Crimson nodded before heading that way. Her mind wondering what Gills could be doing and why the wail? Maybe she had done a number on his mind. She laughed softly to herself as she walked down the halls and up the steps. Once making it to the door she looked at it before knocking. "Anjin...it's Rose." That's the name Gills called her right? Eh, who cares if it really mattered then she would just tell him who she actually was.

It was quiet for a while, before Anjin's voice came from the other side of the door. "Come in," he said briefly.

The room was clearly the master room of the house, with size twice of the guest room given to Crimson. A large double bed overlooked an opening to the balcony, with torches keeping the room comfortably lit. Anjin was sitting at the table on the balcony, with Namu across of him. He was feeding her the meal, which she gleefully like a little kid. When she noticed Crimson, however, she froze for a second before her face turned red. Perhaps embarrassed from her acting like a little kid.

"Well, what's the occasion for the visit?" Anjin laughed. "Did your boyfriend by chance agreed to help us?"

Hearing Anjin Crimson stepped in the room, closing the door behind her. The room was definitely massive. After a brief glance around she looked to the two eating and walked over. "He is not my boyfriend...but he had agreed to help you so I will as well." She walked up beside Namu and patted her head gently even offering her a small smile so she didn't seem so embarrassed over her actions. "We would like payment and a guide to are destination after we are done" she said this as she looked back to Anjin, her hand moving from Namu's head to her own side.

The girl cooed after being patted. "Hmm...do it again," she said. The scene made Anjin laughed even more.

"Seems that Namu had taken a liking on you. Well, you didn't panic after seeing Mist, so I guess you're okay." He lifted a spoon containing small bits of bread toward her mouth, which she bit slowly. There were still a lot of food left on the plates, so it seemed that he deliberately fed her only one small portion at a time.

"Right, right, so your husband," he waved his hand, clearly having fun with it. "That would not be a problem. If you can help us win the war, I'll even make you a Duke if you want it. Is it okay for you two to stay here for a while, though? We will need some time to prepare."

Crimson set her hand on the girls head again and gently pet her "well, it wasn't my first dragon...and I was in a lot of pain" she smiled slightly at her then looked to Anjin again."we will stay...though I will not take you calling that man more then my companion. I work for him and his sister nothing more. " She frowned slightly to him. "We only require payment and a guide like I said. We need to get back to are companions so I can finish my job." She took her hand from Namu's head once more. "I will speak to you again tomorrow...good night" she turned from him and started to the door.

"Hmm, good night," Namu returned the greeting, while Anjin just left her a naughty wink. He certainly wouldn't let off calling Gills her...anything. The kind of men who didn't value their life enough...

Gills was lounging lazily on the couch, eyes staring vacantly at the torch while occasionally munching on grapes. The food aside from fruits were still intact. He must've waited for Crimson to come back before eating.

Seeing the wink the assassin rolled her eyes and closed the door behind her. What was with that man? She shook her head as she walked down the steps and back to there room. "Well he agreed to help us back and to pay us" she closed the door behind her before walking over to him. Seeing he hadn't really touched the food she smirked slightly. "Aw you waited for me how sweet* she teased before sitting across from him and taking a few grapes herself. "He wants us to stay here with him until we are done" she popped one in her mouth after speaking.

Gills's eyes returned alive upon seeing Crimson coming in. Ignoring her tease, he reached out toward a piece of bread, and then dipped it into a sauce bowl. The taste was quite pleasant. Truthfully he had always been longing to try Iroqirin's cuisine, which was remarkably different than their style in the central area.

"Staying here...sure, as long as he pay for the food," he said between his chewing. "I guess I'll just laze around in the house. I still not understand what he wanted with us. I'm certainly not a fighter, and you are more suited for assassination, not roaming around the battlefield as a soldier..."

Crimson shrugged her shoulders slightly before swallowing what was in her mouth. "He doesn't know who or what we do, he only seen when we saved him... maybe he thinks we are fighters" she dipped some bread as well before relaxing back to nibble on it. It was good, she was kinda surprised since they were in a hole in the ground. "Do you think we should tell him what we are? There is a good possibility we won't die on the battle field that way" she laughed softly.

Gills shook his head. "We shouldn't. It'll become troublesome if a royalty from other kingdom got involved with another kingdom's affair. And it's not like I'm here as a Prince from Serion. I'm merely Gills, a wanderer. You're free to reveal yourself as an assassin if you want. I don't think that guy will be bothered by it."

He laughed dryly. "If anything, he might even ask you to assassinate the king of Iroqirin."

Crimson sat there thinking before smirking. It would be a fun task and almost easy compared to what she had been up against lately. "It would end the battle faster...if I do, want to go with and have some inside fun?" She leaned forward with a smile. "It would be better then going out to battle when your not a soldier. That way I can keep an eye on you and protect you" she teased as she placed her head in her hand. Her outfit moving nicely with her body.

Gills just scoffed, and then stood up. "I'll pass. I'll let you handle the killings. I just want to get more wine," he said rather casually and then left the house, most likely to fool around.

It had been more than two weeks ever since then. Anjin had not let the two left the underground compound, although it wasn't as if they had a clear direction on where to go in the first place. His reasoning wasn't out of malice. The tension had been high in the past few days, with the kingdom in high alert because of the water priestess's disappearance as well as the growing concern of rebellion.

Anjin had called Crimson and Gills to the meeting hall in his residence. His expression was both grave and elated, the face of someone who would do something big.

"I presume you already know the plan?" He started. On the table laid a drawing of the desert region, with Iroqirin capital at the center. There was a red circle at the upper left of the map, which was most likely this place. "We had been stirring rebellions all over the desert. Many tribes aren't satisfied with how the kingdom hoarded the water priestess, but as long as they had control over her, nobody would dare resisted. But now that Namu is safe in our hand, the tribes would gladly rise up to our cause."

He smirked. There was that hateful glare from weeks ago, when he was talking about how the kingdom treated Namu. "We are going to strike them as the sun rose. We have the advantage numerically, but the kingdom had strong warriors on their side. Not to mention the priesthood-"

Gills squirmed upon the mention of that word.

"They are fanatical to the Three Goddess, and they're the one who want to recapture Namu at all cost. We can't afford to lose. Both the kingdom's future and Namu's future is at stake. I will never let her to return to that hell. Never again."

He sighed. And then he turned to Crimson.

"This is where you come in. I already know that you're not a normal person. A mercenary? Or a killer- nevermind, it's not my place to know. Nevertheless, you seems to be best suited for infiltration. That's why I want to request your help. Please infiltrate the capital and deal with the priesthood."

Two weeks underground and the assassin was about to go crazy. It was being trapped to her and she had never gone this long with out an actual job. She just wanted this over with, the only good part was that she had been able to rest up and even practice her newer spell
evanescet, which she had tried an unperfected one in the tower. Sadly it only lasts about three minutes. When she wasn't doing that she was drinking.

It was a relief to be finally called to meet with Anjin. Inside she stood next to Gills, just listening to Anjin speak. That look on his face interested her, wondering if this hatred would overcome him in battle. When he spoke of the priesthood her eyes flicked to Gills but only for a second before she looked at Anjin again. Her hand went to her hip as he addressed her and gave her a request. It seemed like her first job for the prince all over again. She smirked "ya...I'll deal with them " a good fight would really be good right now. The thought of her blade spilling blood was exciting and she just wanted to get started

Gills caught the expression on Crimson's face and sighed. Not again...he was contemplating running away in the middle of the task if this would just end up in bloodshed. Unfortunately Anjin interpreted his fatigued expression for something else.

"Ah, no need to be so tense. I don't expect you to kill the head priest or something, that would be a hard feat even for Animus holder."

Not like we haven't did that yet...Gills laughed dryly. But he wouldn't reveal that to him. Yet.

"What I want you to do is to raise chaos. Distract them. I don't care what you do, whether you're going to burn the church or raise a mob. I'll give you a few days to prepare, and then my agent will tell you the right time to strike. When you're done, send us a signal and our armies will crush the capital in one go."

Anjin tapped his finger at the center of the map. "Well, that's the plan anyway. Any suggestion? Let's just talk openly here. You're not exactly my men to begin with."

Hearing that she won't be needing to kill anyone made her sigh. Well this would be a boring task. She leaned against a chair as she watched Anjin talk about what easy task he wanted from her. She glanced over at Gills then Anjin. "We can always just go in and kill them all...then we won't have to deal with them if we win" she shrugged before looking at her nails and getting a bit of dirt from under one now kinda bored and wanting to go drink.

Anjin turned to Gills with an inquisitive glare, by which he merely shook his head, silently muttering "not my fault she's a bit loose on the head."

"Right, so..." he coughed. "Please depart this afternoon. We've prepared camel and a guide for you, a trustworthy agent of mine. When you're ready, rendezvous with him at the entrance."

Hearing Gills mutter about her, she glanced over with a small frown. Really? He is one to talk, there is something wrong with him too...though she wasn't sure what it is yet. When Anjin spoke she just gave a small nod and stood straight again. "I'll go get ready then" she turned and started to the door. If there was anything left to discuss then Anjin could just do it with the prince, she was sure he would fill her in later. Thankfully During the two weeks she had gotten a few needles even some new poison ones! It was almost funny that even in this cave she was still able to get a few things she needed.
