Profile Picture Question

Nano

So a lot of people have been telling me that .png pictures tend to turn out less blurry than .jpg and the like. Idk why, but this never really worked for me, but I noticed that changing my profile picture using mobile instead of a computer tended to allow it to turn out more clear for some reason.

Just curious, but does this work for anyone else, or am I just so desperate that my imagination is now making my profile pictures look less blurry. > v >;

Edit: I also always make sure to crop my pictures to make a square (1:1) image beforehand, because the RPN image cropper also seems to be part of the blurryness issue?

I don't know why mobile would be any different from desktop, assuming you're using the exact same file in each case?

All's I really know is the settings want it limited to 170px height/width (not sure if that's either/or or both) and 512 kB.  Maybe if it's larger than that it resizes, and that leads to blurry?

I did everything through my phone, came out great
