It's simple. Parallel universes exist. They follow the same events and only intervention from other timelines can change them. Parallel universes were discovered when humanity experimented on the Warime, an ancient artifact with the power to control time and space.

In the year 2027, the apocalypse began. An ancient beast known as Kaimatt has set the world to ruins. As the world has fallen, special people have decided to travel back in time and to another dimension to prevent their parallel selves from the same fate. Who were these people? Mostly Metahumans, humans with gifted powers.

As the Metahumans meet their counterparts, the events of the dimension begin to stray away from its parallel counterparts. The world will change as a whole, whether it'll be for better or for worse.

TIMELINE ONE
2027
RUINED INNOVALLE
6 YEARS AFTER THE APOCALYPSE BEGAN

July 22, 2027
Entry 1

For those who read this, I'm probably dead. This was my journal that I acquired a few weeks after I woke up from Farrawa’s brainwashing and escaped the Freighters. I found myself in this ruined world. I had no idea what happen. I was asleep for 8 years. That was, until I was told by an old friend.

The world is in ruins. 6 months ago the world was put to ruins by Kaimatt, an ancient beast reawakening by the militant terrorist The Commander. Kaimatt set the world on fire. The skies are red, lava flows everywhere, no place has absence of heat, and buildings have fallen over and crumbled. In the horizon is a great black void. Each day it gets bigger. Kaimatt sits inside the void, slowly eating away our universe. Soon enough, the Earth won't exist anymore. We have limited time to live.

Of course, to say we are living is an over exaggeration. This isn't living. This is hell. The streets are way too dangerous. Crime is extremely high and it's easy to be killed by the environment. It feels like a war up there between gangs, military, drug lords, and terrorist groups. Meanwhile, we all live underground in giant but tight bunkers, under protection of what's left of a government. The Kaimatt Survivor Service, they call themselves, give us food, water, and shelter. We have farms down here, but sometimes that's not enough. Some of us have to go above ground to search for food and especially water. Some never come back. We all live together in fear and a false sense of hope. We all have dreams of us waking up to blue skies and grass but they are only dreams. Ideas we wish were true but they'll never be.

Until now. When Kaimatt was unleashed, he destroyed the Warime, an object he created as a gift to the human race that could manipulate time and space. A month ago we managed to put it back together. We found a way to go back in time with the Warime powering a machine to stop The Commander releasing Kaimatt. The only problem is that we can only change a parallel timeline or dimension. While we might not be able to save our timeline, we’ll be able to save the next timeline. Of course,The Warime can only send so many at a time. There is a selection process where we decide who is willing to go and save the world. I, Handler Walksun, have been chosen as one of the first people to go. After all, I was a hero back in the day. I might have known who the Commander was.

But I have other reasons to go. My whole family fell apart by that bastard William Freight. I was once a child, filled with happiness and joy. Now I can barely crack a smile. Freight messed with my brain. He caused all my friends to die. He left Havaera to ruins. He ruined my life. I'm going to kill that son of a bitch, but also find a way for that supposed other Handler to actually live a life that I never had. Yes, apparently since we are going into a parallel universe there are parallel versions of ourselves. Maybe I'll finally be able to save my life from the dirty hands of Freight.

I'm also worried about Yany. There was this incident I heard about. I had a dream similar to this as well. Yany, or as he supposedly now calls himself, Metal Heart, and my brainwashed self got into a fight. Apparently he murdered Freight and Farrawa sent me in response. I lost the fight and Yany was going to kill me for “stealing Handler’a body and turning it into a monster.” He said he was “going to put Handler finally to rest and to be free of you.” I heard that even before the apocalypse Yany went insane, saying he wanted to kill everyone he believed was responsible for my supposed death. He put the blame on everyone in the Hero System and all of Freight’s family. He also put the blame on Quiet’s Assassin, my supposed alter ego when I was brainwashed. I actually don't mind it. It's a cool name.

As Yany was going to kill me, someone named Helios stopped him. As Helios was distracting Yany, the Freighter soldiers pulled me away. That's when Yany killed him. I feel bad for this Helios and his wife Luna. I once heard Luna was once a member of our bunker but then suddenly disappeared. I hope she's ok. If anything Yany would like to kill her to.

The Warime will be ready in a few days. I hope by then I can sort this whole thing out. I hope the best for all of us. I would say I'm scared, but I can't feel anything anymore. I don't my parallel self to experience this. It's the worst feeling in the world.

July 30th, 2027

I recently learned that my former friend Echo lives inside this bunker. I remember the times we hung out before the Headquarter Shooting. One time, I was on the verge of death. All of a sudden, she flies over in her pajamas and starts beating people up. It was really funny at the time. Now it's just a random memory. Although, I do also remember calling my crush someone with good hair instead of saying “I love you”. What was her name again?

Apparently she now has a child she is taking care of. It feels weird for someone like her to be a parent. The last time I saw her she was my age. You now, before I was mind-controlled and lost all emotion. I missed so much of my life. I sometimes fill in the gaps of my brainwashed age in my mind. I sometimes think of what would happen if I met Echo’s wife when they first started dating. How would I act? Immature and goofy? Idiotic? At least I would be something though, more than a brainless soldier. It would have been nice to see everyone grow up as I would. Now I can't.

I'm not even sure Echo is even the same person. I haven't interacted with her for nearly 10 years. Well, except for all those fights William programmed me to be in. God, I fucking hate him. I'm glad he's dead. If I had the power, I would kill him over and over again by jumping to timeline to timeline. He messed with everyone and should take some of the blame when it comes to Kaimatt. While the Commander was the one to release him, William made sure that the AMS didn't even exist anymore at that point, making us impossible to stop the Commander. William is not human; he's a monster.

Echo better be ok. It's very hard to raise a child nowadays when it's literally the apocalypse. I'm going to talk to her later tonight to see what's going on with her. What would be different between us after all these years? Would she even recognize me? My hair is a mess, I have a scar on my eye, and I'm in an outfit she would never see me wear. Calling me Handler is an overestimate of who I am.

We are still looking for Yany. Our sources say he's somewhere inside the city. Hopefully, we'll find him before he murders anyone else. Yany has become the very thing he wanted to destroy. He's a terrorist trying to get revenge for my death, along with all the deaths from Haevera. He has lost it because of William. William always hated the Hero System. In reality, he got what he wanted.

Entry 8

Aug 2nd, 2027

Recently, someone just popped out of our time travel machine. His name is Hareet Stringer. I think we met before when I was mind controlled. Apparently, at his time, the Freighters and the Seven Levels working together managed to take over the META labs. In response, Yany and Hareet, Yany’s new sidekick, invaded the building to try to stop the terrorist groups. However, Hareet was captured and was thrown into the machine and sent to the future. Soon after, the Seven Levels and the Freighters got into a war. Soon the building collapsed but not before The Commander managed to steal the Warime.

After reading on it, I learned that the “Invasion of META” was a major blow to the AMS. The AMS lost millions of people and billions of dollars. Their reputation went down the drain and soon protest against them rose. Some of these protesters were violent, so the MTD in response murdered a well-known protestor. This made people furious. A week after this event, The Freighters began their final attack on the AMS. It worked. William invaded the Headquarters in Innovalle and killed Martin Davidson, the man in charge. Soon, he ordered weapons stored inside the building to be fired among the city. Another millions died. In his final attack, William set the building on fire, burning all the documents and traces of the AMS. It was no more.

However, I was wrong in this statement. William didn't kill Davidson. I did. Sometimes it feels wrong for the people in this bunker to treat me as one of their own. I was one of the many people responsible for the end of the world. Yet they always say, “You had no control back then. It isn't your fault”. I wonder if they are right. Parts of me feels responsible for all of this. Maybe if I was smarter, I wouldn't have been captured. Maybe if I tried hard enough, I could have broken the mind control sooner. Maybe if I was better, I could have saved Amelia from falling from the high story.

Forget that. I don't want to remember that. But I guess she was right. From my dream from long ago. She said I killed them all. She was right.

It seems Hareet wants to help us but I think he just wants a way out of the apocalypse. I'll keep a close eye on him.

Entry 9

Aug 4th, 2018

It turns out that Hareet isn't the only one that was in the time machine. 1940’s terrorist Alexander Lynch was put in there as well. We tried to find him inside the machine but it was no use. According to the data, it'll take thousands of years before he reenters our world. Hopefully the world will still be alive at that point. Apparently he could have helped us. He is actually the grandfather of The Commander. They both have similar powers. By knowing Lynch, we’ll get to know The Commander. I don't know about it personally. Lynch would still be a terrorist. Maybe.

Does everyone deserve forgiveness? I have been thinking about it a lot. Can certain actions be redeemed? Can bad people be redeemed if they just try hard enough to be good? What about people like William? Does someone like him deserve forgiveness? Do I deserve forgiveness?

I had those dreams again. The ones where everyone’s on fire. Everyone I love and care about. Well, at least I think that's what I feel, if I do actually feel. They tell me I'm the one responsible. Sometimes it feels like deliberate messages being put in my head. If I could have done more, I could have prevented the Headquarter Shooting. I could have been more. While I'm able to travel back in time soon, it won't change anything. We are going to a different timeline. The people that died; we can only save their parallel selves from a parallel world. Those that died here in this dimension stay dead forever. There is no going back for them.

If my parallel younger self is reading this, I hope that what happens to me won't happen to you. All of this is terrible. Every single part of it. The lack of positive feeling, the heat and darkness, and the guilt for pasted ones...It never goes away. If Amelia was still alive, what would see think of the failure I have become? How about Yolya? He always believed that everyone has the chance to be better. I hope I can prove him right by being better than this monster William created.

Entry 12

Aug 7th, 2027

Recently a woman was found outside our bunker with a bullet in her chest. As we took her inside and layed her on the hospital bed, she recognized me. She began to yell at me. I have murdered her husband and daughter 3 years ago. She was screaming and yelling, as she was in emotional pain and was suffering on the idea of lost loved ones. She was Metahuman, so when she screamed all the glass surrounding us broke and object began flying at me. I passed out. I found out later they had to let her go.

As she was using her powers, she was injuring so many others and destroying the rooms around us. She was dangerous as she couldn't control her powers. She had to die, all because of seeing me. I am still that monster. I tried going into the mirror to make myself me again. I managed to make my hair back the way it used to be. There was nothing I could have done about the scars or the eyes. I tried to put on glasses. It was like half me, half Quiet.

The people around me tried to comfort me. It didn't work. I don't feel their compassion. I am not Handler; I am Quiet. Yany was right. Handler is dead and I killed him. Everyone else is delusional but us. However, Yany is still wrong. He wants to kill me. Only I can avenge his death.

Entry 1

Turns out taking care of a child is far harder than I'd first expected. I'd assumed they'd be much more self sufficient than they truly are, or mine is a tad bit odd. She's small for her age and clings to me like I'll vanish at any moment. To be far, that's a high possibility at this point. I'm not even sure she can remember what the color blue is. The only color I see now is ash, deep grey ash with fiery glowing orange. The only hint of color is in my love Caroline's eyes. I wish I could be certain they'd stay that pure blue forever.

Pandora, as Caroline calls her, is terrified by all the people in our bunker. There are no other children in here, nor do any of the others look particularly friendly. She startles at every movement and is frequently wracked by night terrors. Caroline and I have sworn to each other that this child will have peace even if we have to claw a path out of solid rock. Maybe four years old and never said a word to us. Four years old and living in a world of bleakness and blazing earth.

Entry 3

A possibility has come for Pandora, it comes in the form of myself. As a former hero, I've been chosen to accompany Handler(scratch that, Quiet suits him better now) in the Warime. It's a chance for her to see something other than this barren bunker, but that new world would exist without Caroline. She's fallen ill and is too weak to possibly think of traveling. For me, there's nothing without her, but I cannot be selfish with Pandora's fate resting in my hands. These cold hands that have failed so many.

Echo waited near sleeping quarters #37 where she'd been assured Quiet would meet her for the first time in maybe ten years. Pandora huddled behind her legs with a firm grasp on her index finger. For now it was a lifeline for both of them. Echo had heard of what Handler/Quiet had become over this time and she had of course fought him on multiple occasions, but meeting him face to face would be different.

METAL HEART
FFARRAWA
SOMEWHERE IN RUINED INNOVALLE

Yany's scarred body sat on the stairs on a ruined apartment building. He looked out the window and saw the flames surronding the darknesses. The darknesses that grew everyday and was eating the entirely of the universe.

Kaimatt.

There was not much he could do aganist him. Kaimatt was an immortal god-like being, whose corruption turned him negative and evil. Without realizing, Yany was just like him. After the death of everyone he loved, he sought after revenge of the people who killed them. Especially Handler, his sidekick and friend, along with Handler's relative, Yolya, who was a mentor to Yany, even if Yany abandoned everything he taught. Yany was nothing he was in the past. He was a changed man.

But one thing stayed the same.

Yany had a heart.

He just had a hard time showing it.

Yany got up and moved his body to the roof. He was wearing his armour and was carrying a bag. Eventually he reached the roof. The rush of heat blew at him as he placed the bug next to the edge of the building. Yany opened the bag one last time. Inside was the corspe of William.

"How could you be a god if you were never even human?" He yelled at the lifeless being before kicking it off the edge, sending it into the lava abyss.

Farrawa caught sight of this in his patrol helicopter. He approached the moving aircraft towards the rooftop. With armed men inside the vessel, Farrawa was finally going to kill Yany.

Execpt he didn't even reach the roof before Yany crushed his fist, making the metal vessel explode, killing everyone on board.

DEATH COUNT: 1
FARRAWA

QUIET/HANDLER WALKSUN
THE BUNKER
SLEEPING QUARTER #37

"Handler," the nurse said. "Its time for your medication."

"I'm not Handler," the man replied. " Don't ever call me that again."

The nurse, not knowing what to think, just placed the meds down and left. Quiet stared at them with his usual blank expression, before talking them with a glass of water. The medication was simple; to prevent the brainwashing to return, ending up killing everyone down here.

After writing his new entry about the horrible events that happened earlier today, Quiet got up and walked around the halls. Life down in the bunker was boring and lifeless. Quiet was also boring and lifeless, as no emotion runs through his veins anymore. Hes just a shell. A shell of a kid named Handler Walksun.

Along the way, he was instructed by staff to head to Sleeping Quarter #37. Apparently it was another mental experiment, seeing if his mental mind has grown. Obviously they are not a fan of what Handler has become. He became nothing.

But that didn't matter for who he was meeting. As he passed through the doors, he saw her. For real, not under brainwashing. In nearly 10 years, yet he never forgot her face.

"Echo..." Quiet said, softly yet excited. He was surpised to see her. I mean, why would she ever want to see him ever again? "I'm sorry you have to see me like this..."

Quiet had a million questions. The first was what she'll call him.

Echo nearly jumped at the sound of her name, though it was almost silent. Pandora jerked away from her mother as Echo jerked around to face him. She'd pulled Pandora next to her without realizing it though the child didn't seem as afraid.

"Holy s-heck. Well ain't you tall now." She laughed almost as though she wasn't quite believing what she saw. Somehow he'd grown to be at least a head taller than her, making her look up. "What did they feed you man I think I need some."

It was actually him, though he was clearly a shattered version of what she'd met the first time. Part of her wanted to cry, but the other part reached up an hand and smacked him across the cheek.

"Do you understand how fu-freaking worried I was! You've gotta be kidding me!" By now Echo was actually fuming, one hand on her hip and the other waving frantically at him. She had to be very careful not to teach Pandora anything they might regret later. "First I hear 'Hey Echo, Handler's gone nuts go talk to him' and then you go off the charts before I get there. THEN you have the audacity to try and fight me a year later! AND THEN WHAT DO YOU DO?! You show back up here! Didn't talk to me the whole time! And only when we're supposed to go travel in some weird machine do you finally mosey on in here and have the guts to speak my name! Do you have any idea how worrying that was?!"

Her hair was back in a loose pony tail with long bangs dangling past her eyes and requiring constant attention to brush aside so she could glare at him fully. She almost paced back and forth while Pandora watched in what might have been amusement. The girl looked almost nothing like either of her adopted parents, with chocolate skin and ebony hair (though caked in dust and grime), the only resemblance could be seen in her oak tree eyes the same rich brown as Echo's with light cream rings that would eventually be seen in the sunlight. She'd never seen Echo make such a racket or wave her arms like that and she found it delightful enough to giggle.

Echo wiped her bangs out of her face a last time and turned to motion at the giggling mess that hide behind a wooden crate. "Handler, this is my daughter Pandora who appears to find it funny when people go missing for years and then come strolling in randomly before a life or death matter." She huffed and reached down to pick up her child. "So. You ready?" Echo asked with all traces of her little fit erased by a light grin.

HANDLER WALKSUN
SLEEPING QUARTER #37

Any man would cry after seeing someone cry for them. The hatred and anger was justifed but yet, Quiet felt nothing. Nothing but guilt. The night he disappeared the whole city of Haevera burned down. Then he went to burn down Innovalle too. All he could do was stand there and listen. Most of the time he didn't want to speak anyway. Until eventually, he wakes up to reality.

"Echo..." Quiet finally spoke up. "The night Willam destroyed the HQ and set the city on fire, he kidnapped. He brainwashed me and turned me into a monster. I became his dog. Only a few months ago was I set off my lease. Although at a cost..."

Quiet looks down at the floor, which had more color than him. "I lost all sense of emotion and I feel nothing. Well, I feel something, but I never know how to fully reach it. The reason I haven't seen you much is they kept me in my room so they can make me sane again. I have to take medication every 5 hours. If they didn't, everyone down here would have been dead."

Quiet then looked at Pandora. A beautiful little girl with no future in this wasteland. Echo sure is a great parent, he thought. I'm glad she was able to become something good in this world. I do miss when we were just kids...

Echo resisted the urge to smack him again just to see how he'd react. "Yeah yeah, the whole brainwashing thing. Have I mentioned that I don't care? You scared me! And then you go and show up again and I have to go 'Oh, there he is he'd better come and see me or send for me' but no."

"No more moping, we've got work. Scoot. Come on Panda, mommy wants us to go." It was pretty clear that Echo was biting the inside of her lips to keep herself from showing more emotion than she had. To her, she was trading one future for something from the past. Caroline had told her to go, they both had letters they'd written, but it suddenly felt more real. If they didn't go now she was certain she'd never leave.

HANDLER WALKSUN
SLEEPING QUARTER #37

Quiet then exited the room so Echo could leave. He went down back to the lab. Echo was doing that thing where she was biting her lip. Back in the day she would do that to hide emotion. Quiet wondered she really felt or what he felt. Again, he felt mostly nothing.. Although something was there. Something horrid. He wonder if he should let it grow. Would that turn him into a person again?

Unaware to him, Echo was following behind.

As Quiet entered the lab room, he clearly saw the disappointed faces of the scientists. Not even reuniting him with his childhood friend could bring his emotion back. At this point, nothing will and they just wasted their time.

Quiet laid on his bed and stared at the ceiling. "How do you feel?" The nurse asked, even though from her face she already knew the answer.

"Nothing," Quiet replied.

"Well the doctor thinks maybe 2 pills ever 6 hours could work," The nurse replied. "Should we give it a try?"

"Sure," Quiet said. The first time they proposed a new strategy Quiet was a little excited. At this point, they didn't care what they did to him anymore.

Although he wanted to talk to Echo again. I mean, she was the only one left. Yany went crazy, Yolya is dead, Amelia is missing, he knew nothing about Allie, and Umbra was killed by William. There was no one left.

Execpt, of course, on the other side of the city, a bunker was raided. The raider mostly took lemonade.

YANY MITS
HAREET STINGER
A MYSTERIOUS MAN

OUTSIDE THE OLD WATCHTOWER
A MYSTERIOUS BUNKER

Yany walked down the broken street, being careful not to fall into any lava pools. Behind him was an army; the Metals, a group seeking control of the city. They wanted to find the rest of the food spread across the bunkers around the city. They haven't had food days. The last meal they ate was a dead soldier.

With Freighters leader Farrawa dead, the Freighters were no more. The Metals gunned down remaining members during the raid at the former Freighter HQ and the one they haven't killed are all hiding in the old AMS base, the WatchTower. The WatchTower was a skyscraper with AMS offices inside it. A backup to the headquarters in a different part of the city. This is where the last of the Freighters were hiding. Yany was going to kill them all.

The Freighters, now under the name Survivors, with freedom from mind control, feared for their lives. They wondered how much time they had, or how much time they had missed while under. These facts didn't bother Yany, as he believed they were still monsters.

The Metals approached the building. Surronding the area were smaller apartments, destroyed vehicles, and a ruined train track. Yany ordered his soldiers to surround it so no one can escape. However, when the soldiers got farther away from their general, they would suddenly have their necks snapped. Yany didn't notice until the soldiers in his visible sight died. Yany pulled out his metal pole and turned it into a sharp spear. He then reached his hand out and suddenly Hareet Stringer, his old sidekick after Handler, was being dragged on the concrete by the metal bracelets around his legs. As Hareet, scared, got closer to a stabbing range, Hareet managed to get the bracelets off his mind. Hareet flew off the street, grabbed a car, and flinged it at Yany while landing across the street from him. Yany stopped the car in mid-air. He split it into many pieces and threw it back at Hareet. Hareet dodged the projectiles execpt for the last one where it smashed him aganist the wall. With a snap of his fingers, Yany made the car section explode, presumably killing Hareet.

Yany turned around. “You could have never replaced him,” Yany said, angerly under his breath. “You were just a boy…” Yany only felt his anger grow. How could he possibly think to show his face to me? He thought. “Whatever, it doesn't matter.”

That was, until Yany turned around and watched in awe as Hareet was standing in his vision. Hareet was smiling inside the explosion and the blasts began to move around him like whips.

“Do you really think you can defeat me that easily?” Hareet said, boostful and proud. “I'm the greatest hero who ever lived!”

Hareet fired the explosion back at Yany. Yany was hit and thrown aganist the side of a crashed train. The explosion set Yany ablaze and soon the train caught on fire. Hareet then collasped to the ground, weak from the attack. He laughed to himself, proud of his victory. However, he was forced to get up when Yany poured a small water unit on himself, then throwing the train cars at Hareet. Hareet, disappointed for a little bit, caught the first one and placed it down. Hareet then jumped over and ducked under the next two. Finally, Yany picked up an oil tanker and with his spear cut a leak in it. Then he threw it at Hareet. Hareet tired to catch it but he only caught half, as he enlarged the leak into a full on splitting. Hareet was covered in oil and one half of the oil tanker exploded aganist the wall behind him. Hareet soon caught ablaze and was flinged to the middle of the start. Yany walked to the tired, flaming body. He neaned down at him and cut a scar on his forehead.

“You sure are a smart boy,” Yany said to him. Hareet face only expressed anger, disappointment, and fear. Yany only smiled. “How can be the grestest hero ever lived if no one will remember your death?” Yany did an evil chuckle as he was about to stab Hareet in the chest.

However, Yany's victory was shorthanded when a steel beam hit him in the face. Hareet rolled around, exhausting the flames, and then got up, super weak but smiling, and began to stagger away. Yany moved the steel beam off of him and rub his forehead. The steel beam penetrated his skin and now he was bleeding and becoming metal. He tired to get up but he was also cut in his legs. Yany couldn't move ans was bleeding metal everywhere. Yany screamed out and cursed at Hareet.

“I'll fucking kill you!” Yany exclaimed. “I'll kill you and Quiet! You will not get away with what you did to Handler you son of a bitch!”

Hareet, stil staggering, turned around and smiled at Yany. “Neither will you, dumbass,” he joked. Hareet, regaining his energy, leviated away. Yany passed out on the streets but was picked up by his soldiers. The Survivors managed to escape underground and were lost. Hareet was a hero to them. They carried the general's body back to the helicopter and they flew back to their bunker. Meanwhile, Hareet made it 5 blocks before passing out completely. While he was asleep, a mysterious man walked up to his body and took him back to the man's bunker. He placed Hareet on his bed and soon he made him a soup for him when he would eventually wake up. The man also had a can of lemonade, as he knew that was Hareet's favorite drink. The man treated Hareet’s wounds and soaked him in water.

“You just rest my son,” The man said, relaxing and calming. “Just rest. I am proud of you.”

About a week ago, Hareet reappeared from being inside the time machine. The next day he escaped the bunker and now lives among the streets, looking for someone; Yany, unaware that he became a monster. Until, of course, he witnessed the shooting of the former Freighters base. Now Hareet has a personal mission to kill him. Today, of course, was a failure. He did not estimate how strong Yany would be. And Yany is only getting stronger…

HARRET STRINGER
A MYSTERIOUS MAN

A MYSTERIOUS BUNKER

Hareet opened his eyes to the sight of a ceiling. Hareet got nervous, assumed he was back in the Warime Bunker and now they were going to yell at him for running away. The emotionless bozo Quiet would annoy him to death with his presence. Instead he looked around and found a cozy space with carpets, plantings, low lighting, furniture...It was as if he went back in time and ended up in someone's basement. Hareet got up and walked around. There was a mini kitchen and a tiny bathroom. I wonder if the plumbing works around here. Hareet thought. Why am I even here anyway?

Suddenly a door closed behind him. In front of the door was a mysterious man...the last time he saw him, his hair was started to turn gray. Now the transformation was complete. He was old before but his age seemed to triple. The wrinkles didn't help either and neither did the scars. Still, it was him. After all these years…

“Yolya…” Hareet gasped. “How are you still alive? You died in the HQ shooting! Your powers were absorbed by William and he kicked you off the building…”

“Young Hareet,” Yolya exclaimed. “In his last act alive, Umbra teleported me to the other side of the city. I remain hidden from the Freighters. Next thing I knew, my relative Handler turned into an assassin…” Yolya paused to take a sip of alcohol. “And now the world is coming to an end…”

“Handler?” Hareet exclaimed. “Oh, he's still alive and well. He's currently living in the Warime Bunker, about to go back in time or some shit. I only stayed there for a day. I wouldn't know.”

Yolya looked at Hareet with scared confusion. “The Warime?” Yolya exclaimed. “Why are people still experimenting on it?”

“Because,” Hareet explained. “it could open a connection to another timeline. We can make sure Kaimatt doesn't exist in that timeline. Now, I'm not sure how they'll do it without me but I can put my trust in Handler, even if he lost his powers…” Hareet looked down at the ground, quiet. “...and tired to kill me several times.”

Yolya looked at him. He smiled. “I'm glad you kept that with you,” He replied.

“...?”

“You learn to forgive others for their mistakes, as long they are sorry…” Then, Yolya looked down in disappointment. “ ...and yet, Yany became dangerous and angry.”

Hareet sat down on a couch. He rubbed his fingers through his hair. “Well, Yany won't need to be worried about to where we're going. We have a mission to stop Kaimatt from being released.” Hareet looked up towards the door. “Perhaps I should head back to the Bunker. I found what I was looking for anyway…”

Yolya took another sip of alcohol. He looked at his map, he took a marker, and fixed it. He was obversing how far the flames and the Void stretched outside the city. The flames have expanded across the entire country. The Void took a 5 mile radius. 4 months ago it was 4.7 miles. It was growing and soon the entire Earth will be shallowed. “How long until the Warime is up and running?” Yolya asked the boy.

“Perhaps in a few days,” Hareet answered. “I really did speed up the process.” Hareet grinned and laugh.

Yolya stared at him and then smiled himself. “Come on,” Yolya said. “Let's go together.”

Echo stood cautiously at the door, just out of view, holding Pandora in her arms. The child couldn't possibly understand the mass mix of expression raging across her mother's face. This wasn't something she wanted her daughter to witness, but leaving her with Caroline would possibly be even more traumatizing. She wanted to run, but where was left in this world that might be safe? There was no where for the three of them to be together anymore. Caroline had told her not to come back, just leave her to die, and Echo could barely hold herself back from running to her side.

It was all for Pandora, she promised both herself and her dying lover. They'd be leaving soon and she'd have a future if Echo could push herself just a little further.

"How's the diagnosis doc?" She called as she walked in with head held high and Pandora held firmly on her side. It was an odd entrance with her radiating an almost friendly authority. Instead of cowering like she may have done in her former years as a hero, Echo held herself in a way that put herself in the spotlight as a leader. Asking about Quiet would have been a bit strange if they hadn't been about to travel together though Echo probably would have anyway.

HANDLER WALKSUN

THE LAB
"Your friend is alright," the doctor replied to Echo in a friendly jester. "Just a little short on emotion." The doctor went over to Quiet, who was somewhat surpised that Echo was outside the lab. "This William sure sounds a jerk."

Quiet sighed as he got up and stood. ,
"Yep he was," Quiet sarcastically commented. "Murdered everyone I ever loved." Quiet took some vitamins and soon he headed out the door. He approached Echo and saw Pandora again. "You never did tell me what happened when I was under," Quiet mentioned. "Other than the fights with me of course." Quiet began walking down the hallway. "This way. I need to grab my stuff for something."

"You were a huge a-hole is what you were. Wouldn't even respond to my questions the one time I managed to restrain you. You make a terrible prisoner by the way, kept struggling then tried to pull a whole knife on me. I'd rate you 2/10 on the prisoner scale, would not imprison again. I mean, I would if you went nuts again, but you suck as a prisoner. Don't make me do it again." Her tone was light and she smirked up at him with Pandora fiddling with the sleeves from Echo's loose shirt.

"Panda, are you excited to go with Uncle Handler?" Echo cooed at the girl, attempting to elicit a reaction from Quiet. She also decided it would be amusing to watch Pandora possibly grow up calling him that, if she ever spoke that is. Five years old and seemingly never spoken a word. Both her mothers prayed that she would be able to recover from the fire of this time.

THE BUNKER HALLWAY
Echo was gleeful to see him. Quiet was not. Quiet responded to Echo's story, as serious as possible; "Farrawa was a great programmer. Able to manipulate the human mind. Until of course William manipulated his in return for all his hard work. Don't you just hate it when people abuse all you done?"

Quiet remembered the bullies back when he was younger. Those that picked him to be tortured by the cruel words. Quiet never forgot the time back in 6th grade, when it all went to hell. The name Handler is cursed, thought Quiet, and yet she's teaching her daughter to say it...

Quiet got frustrated a little and looked back at Echo. "Don't say his name," Quiet responded. "It's wrong to disrespect the dead. Also are you trying to make her believe I'm her uncle or something?"

For some reason, Echo disliked that. Actually it was a very obvious reason. "Well then what do you suggest we have her believe. She's not going to call you quiet. What kind of name is that!? That's the stupidest thing I've heard in the past three years! Handler is not dead, you are Handler. You're a little messed up in the head I admit, but still Handler. Quiet is the one who died. He died when you were freed."

She knew he'd try and respond in a moment, so she raised her hand to silence him. "It'll take time for you to recover, but don't try and teach this tiny angel dumb... Crap like that." It was very clear how much she wanted to curse at him. She wanted to curse him out more than anything, but Pandora was present and she wasn't about to let her become internet famous for being a cursing child.

THE BUNKER HALLWAY
Quiet had little to so but much to say. "I don't think you quite understand what I've been through. Everyone execpt you is gone, even my powers...everything execpt you is gone...the city is literally in flames and I helped caused that." Quiet formed a fist. "Handler is dead, but I can avenge his death."

Quiet reached the storage center. He found the unit that belonged to him and opened it, revealing his many gadgets and weapons. Quiet spoke; "When we visit that other timeline, the first thing I'll do is kill William. That's how I'll save myself..." Quiet then picked up his sniper rifle. "But before we do that, we got to find Hareet Stinger and bring him back here."

YANY MITS

THE METALS HQ BUNKER

As Yany sat with his armor, on his throne, watching his armed soldiers guard his life, he ordered that the recently captured prisoner be brought forward. The 2 soldiers towards the door exited the huge throne chamber and brought back with them an extra person. Handcuffed with metal cuffs, the prisoner was dragged to the former hero and soon they were staring face to face, 10 feet apart from each other. The prisoner looked around. The room was massive; the ceilings were high and covered with lights, the walls were so far apart that the candles attached to them stood out, the floor was made of steel patterns, and the entire room was brown and gray, with pillers reaching to the ceiling and colorful fake windows. This bunker room was built as a underground church, and the fallen angel took the room for his throne. The throne was made of steel pipes and the one who sat there was also sitting on the pile of bodies which their deaths supported his regime. Yany, the madman, took off his helmet and instantly the prisoner feared for her life as the broken face of the once beautiful fallen angel looked straight into his soul, judging her every action.

“Yany Mits…” The prisoner said, with deep fear. “My family used to look up to you…”

“Most people say that about me,” Yany replied, with complete seriousness. “They just don't realize that I'm only doing whats necessary. Haevera was destroyed and my family and friends were murdered in the process. My home was taken away by people who haven't received judgement yet.”

Yany stood up and looked down at the prisoner with anger hidden away in his soul. “Which is why I brought you here.” Yany snapped his fingers and began to order his guards. “Bring me her box!”

The 2 soldiers again left and returned with a box and handed it to Yany. The prisoner looked at the box and painfully discovered the box was filled of belongings to her. Yany dug through and pulled out an employee card and soon read out her identity.

“Kristine Waters,” the mad tyrant spoke. “You work for a certain bunker that I need to get in.” Waters cringed as he said her name but Yany continued. “Two individuals responsible for Haevera's destruction lie there.” Yany then stared straight into her eyes. “And I'm hearing rumors that a powerful weapon lies there as well...something called the Warime.”

Waters looked straight into him and yelled in fury; “How would you know that? That's top secret information!”

Yany smiled at her. “Not when your husband worked for me before he was executed.” Yany pulled out the husband's employee card. “The card was deactivated when he died. Your husband and his spies could no longer get inside for me. That's why we need you..’”

“Well,” Waters commented, angrily. “If you have been getting inside, then you would have known you also need my fingerprints!”

Yany pulled out a metal pole and turned it into a sword. “I know,” he said as he inserted the blade slowly into her right wrist. Waters screamed and cried out in pain. Yany frowned at her. “However, I'm not just going to steal supplies this time. This time I carry out the plan to invade. A slow approach…” Yany then sliced the right hand off super quickly. Waters screamed in pain and blood dripped on the floor. “...to a fast invasion!” Yany finished. Then he stabbed Waters in the heart, killing her and soon her corpse dropped to the floor.

Yany turned to his soldiers. “We have stolen enough supplies from the bunker and we now know the layout and security,” Yany commanded. “In a few days time, we can finally begin the invasion.” Yany then got all excited. “We'll kill Quiet and Echo, along with everyone who supported them! Then I'll steal the Warime and kill Kaimatt myself!” Yany sat back down on his throne, taking in the bloody air. He smiled. “Leave me and only come back with more news.” He commanded. Yany then threw Waters’ hand to a soldier. “Copy those fingerprints for all of us.” The soldier nodded and left. The rest saluted him and left his chamber. Yany then looked down at Waters’ corpse. “All thanks to you.” Yany smiled. Soon, Haevera will have been avenged…at least in his mind.

Virus
The Metal's HQ Bunker

From the right side of the gruesome throne, a young man rolled his one human eye at the twisted king. The man, barely even in his mid 20's, was covered in wires, and broken machinery, all repurposed to keep him alive. If Yany was a king in this twisted place, Virus was his prince. A demon archangel to Yany's Lucifer. They'd been partnered like this for a while. Virus had retrieved more information than any prisoner or solder ever could, all without even risking them leaving the bunker that protected them from the wasteland outside.
"Y-You shouldn't do th-that, you kn-kn-know," He said, his voice sounding distorted, weak, and painful. "P-P-People will st-start to think you-you're crazy talking to-to your-yourself like th-that."
The blond stepped closer to his master, wincing in the artificial light as it reflected off the metal plate which covered the right side of his face, and into his human eye. His body was slow, and every step looked painful. The wires that hung loosely from his neck, arms, and legs swung around with his movements, occasionally sparking at the ends, and causing the young man to twitch one way or the other. He grabbed onto the side of the throne as his legs gave out, and buried his face in his elbow as he coughed up another bit of blood.
Virus was very ill. Anyone could tell he was dying. About a year before shit hit the fan and the world ended, Virus had received the devastating news that his HIV, which he'd had since childhood, had progressed into full-blown AIDS. Now, with no medical attention, Virus was more machine than man in a desperate attempt to prolong his own life.
"Y-You should try and-and-and-and-and..." Virus reached up to smack the side of his head to stop the repetition, "put that h-hand on ice. M-Might need it. J-J-Just the prints might n-not be enough, e-e-even with me."

YANY MITS

THE METALS HQ BUNKER
After the execution, his partner, the mighty but dying Virus, walked up slowly the hallway and collasped at the side of the throne. As Virus twitched his metal face plate moved a little out of place. Yany with his mind moved the plate back into place, even if it was going to fall out again. Yany looked straight into the man's eyes. Virus was all he had as a friend. Everyone else he ever trusted has died or betrayed him...Virus wasn't one of them...

"I'm sorry Virus," the now reflective man said. Yany looked back at the women's body. "Without you, there is no one else to talk too. No one unders my pain like you do." Yany then held what was left of Virus' hands and looked back at his face. "We will get through this, I promise..." Yany cared for the dying man, even if one day he'll go...

Yany moved metal bracelets onto the arms of Waters and floated her to lay beneath his throne. Yany got up from his seat and started to do a quick pace in circles. "So you put the hand in ice, you say?"

The Metal's HQ Bunker
Virus perched himself on the arm of the throne and shook his head. "N-N-Not personally," He said with a twitch. "I-I-I told that one s-scientist guy w-we have. D-didn't want to-to contaminate the-the-the specimen."
He flexed his hands, shuddering at the feeling of the metal and wires he'd strung through them, and the lingering warmth of Yany's touch. He could never understand why anyone would ever want to touch him so gently. He was diseased. His bodies recent habit of coughing up blood certainly didn't help his mindset about it. Any contact with his open flesh, blood, or any other fluids could cause someone else to get his disease. He didn't want that to happen to anyone, especially Yany.
"Y-You shouldn't do th-that y-you know," He said, looking at his king as best he could with his poor eyesight. "Y-Y-You'll infect your-yourself... B-B-Ben coughing up-up-up-upupupupup-" Virus twitched violently, his whole form shaking for a moment as if he were having a seizure, before slumping over. After three seconds, he shot back up. "Been coughing up blood recently," He concluded.

Yany listened to Virus's warnings. Yany was aware of his condition of course but Yany couldn't care less. He stared at the ceiling. "The world is ending, Virus." He commented. "At this point, there's no such thing as living." Yany then rummed his forehead, where Hareet thrown the steal beam into. It was still made of metal and was painful to even touch. "Ah!" Yany said in response. Yany then turned back at Virus. "You're more important than anything else, anyway..."

Yany began to walk out of the chamber; slowly so Virus can keep up. "What else is needed to get in?" Yany asked. "Having access to the enterance with Water's prints won't allow our invasion to be a 100% success. What have some spies said about the security system?"

Virus stood on shaking legs, both more metal than flesh at this point, and struggled to keep up with Vanny. He leaned heavily onto the wall as they walked to keep his balance. He shuddered a bit from his twitching, and said, "I-I-I'm considering b-building myself s-some extra l-legs... M-Might help with the-the balance..."
His head jerked to the sight again, his body shaking briefly, before he said, "Right! S-security. It-it's pretty t-tight, but n-nothing I can-can't handle. The-the biggest f-flaw I can s-see is that y-you'll have to c-c-carry me... I-I-I'm too much of-of a l-liability on my-my own..."

"Carrying you would be pretty easy with how metallic you are," Yany commmented; his hand on his chin. "And believe yourself to be a liability." Yany looked back at him. "It's because of you Haevera gets its justice..." Yany smiled at him and soon they were in the hallways.

"I could carry you, you know," Yany responded. Several soldiers walked psst him and saluted him. "Theres really no need for legs...maybe I can steal some through..." Yany then entered a room on the left. It was your average sitting area. "I know someone we can steal a metal arm from..." Yany mentioned as he sat down.
