Princess to Rule the End of the World
The plot here is pretty simple. It's 1844 in a magical steampunk-ish world. Victorian if you'd like and Princess Valori Kargofski, air to the
Euro-Russian throne is throwing a large party/ball/gala event a week before her coronation. One of which patrons and suitors alike will attend. Though it's rumored she's pretty gay so like, a bunch of ladies gonna try their luck, BUT anyway. Not only is this event full of the finest and brightest but it's also open to the public, anyone can enter (after vetting of course) from the richest to the poorest.

But not everything is right. The Princess will choose various patrons from the crowd and invite them to private chambers, a V.I.P lounge kind of sorts. The lights go off, the castle grows quiet and everything changes. When the lights come back on, everyone is gone, the castle is in ruins and nature has slowly reclaimed the city....And there are creatures in the distance

That's right folks, a huge disaster has befallen the world and these lucky fellers were transported into the future. Who? Why? How?
Let's figure it out together!

Yeah so a mix of rich powerful and poor people mingle and try to woo the Princess then get invited to a room and get jumped into an apocalyptic future. Oh and people can have magic powers, I'll make an example

Mistress Valori Kargrofski stood at the top of the large ornate stairs, tall and dignified but also surrounded by the country's most distinguished guards, servicemen, and women, as well as numerous masked figures. Smiling faintly the princess almost sounded sleepy as soft as she was speaking. Amplified by a magic charm to announce herself and commence the event. A magnificent event. A public gala for the country and allied countries to celebrate Valori's coronation in the week to come. Her lips barely moved. She spoke so well, so defined, the articulation alone would give anyone shivers. Her voice was something beyond angelic. In contrast, the room full of people was so quiet the smallest noise would have everyone's heads turn but they didn't as no such noise was made. Something most would consider impossible yet here it was happening. This event, not the gala, but this very introduction to the night would be considered one of the most mysterious, most astounding moments in the history of the world. In hindsight, it was just a girl speaking to a large crowd, but to those present, it was so much more, it was. Beyond description, hypnotic, if anyone were to try and describe it they would only be at a loss for words.

The room was enormous, the crowd just so, a mix of commoners and nobles alike. Unlike what most would expect they were standing side by side. The class system fell away during this moment. In any other situation this company would be like mixing oil and water, but not now. There were only the people and the princess. Even more, the center of the room, the ballroom floor was empty. A huge space the took up most the room and yet, the people in the room were able to stand freely outside its borders without any discomfort or spacing issues.

Even though she had been talking for some time her words only just now came into focus.

Ladies, Gentlemen and other beings, those of our nation and those not.
The common poor and the spare rich. Those of health and those of sickness. The young, the old. Those of great faith and those of humanist dreams.
I welcome you to the Grand Ballroom of Estoria, named after my late sister.
Here, tonight, history will be made. Elsewhere life will begin for so many, and for so many, to perish. Those natural cycles of the world.
The birds, the grass, the dirt beneath the granite of the floor beneath your feet.
All of it comes together to be our world.
One of which you live in.
In this current time.
None of that matters. Not now, not here. In these walls.
I Valori Kargrofski will be your Queen in a weeks time.
This night is to celebrate this occasion.
But I would be lying if I were to accept that truth.
No.
This night is for you. The people.
Those who set foot in this castle this night.
This is a celebration for you. The individual.
I only act as the centerpiece of your great design.
Now.
Let us begin.

Just at that moment, the 250 masked figures, dressed in white robes from head to toe, moved out from beside the princess and out onto the ballroom floor in time. No footstep was out of place, not a single one faltered or spoke a word. They settled into a formation that was completely symmetrical on all sides, a pentagon. On each point was a figure wearing red. They all stepped forward at the same time and moved about the room, moving through the people as if they were made of water. Each searching for something. Someone. They all stopped at the same time and took the hand of a random stranger. Though nothing in this ceremony was random. They led the chosen back to their original positions and had them take their place. in the formation. Then all the masked figures sunk into the floor as it moved aside beneath them, a hidden contraption of some sort.

No one in the mass of people noticed the 5th and final chosen participant, though it was now glaringly obvious, it was the Princess, standing tall and smiling slightly.

The music begins.
Mistress Valori Kargrofski stepped gracefully to Cara Flora Brennan and gently took the red-headed beauty's hand. Beginning to step to an elegant dance, one that kept the entire room's attention.

{ LyannaM LyannaM Pik Pik VaskarTheHunter VaskarTheHunter Morzone Morzone darkborn darkborn - Your first post is to be your thoughts of the event and the dance that follows, oh and you don't have to make your post as long or poetic as mine, I just wanted to have a really good flashy opening post. Do as you please, just remember to end the dance and hand Valroi off to someone else. She won't speak or anything during this time, just a lovely smile and majestic ballroom dancing ]

Cara smiled politely at the rest of the partygoers as the waited for princess to come down, it was odd to think that in such a short time Valori would become the queen. Any small murmuring amongst the crowd silenced at the sight of the elegant princess and Cara herself turned fully to the woman, she looked so elegant and radiant tonight. Well Valori always did but tonight it was far different, the way she held herself and spoke with a crystal clear voice truly befitted a future queen. It was odd in a way for Cara, and she mused to herself if Valori was truly happy with what was about to happen. Not that the princess had much say in the matter, the duty to ones family and country was not something that could be ignored. Still as she all but glided down the steps, Cara could see the masked figures weave about the room, but her attention was solely on the princess. When Valori stepped in front of her and gently took her hand, Cara gave her a pleasant smile that pulled up just slightly more on one side.

The dance was magnificent, Cara had been trained how to dance properly her whole life and as the pair spun not a single step was out of place. Though she did feel a little odd at the way Valori kept that serene smile on, it made her feel that the princess felt anything but serene. The music was lovely and filled the grand hall effortlessly, no one in the crowd spoke and almost all eyes were on them. In any other scenario Cara might have enjoyed dancing so close to Valori while the eyes of the kingdom watched. Yet now it just felt bittersweet, this chapter of the book was ending and Cara didn't know what chapter was next. The music was coming to an end and as Cara looked about for someone to pass the princess off to her gaze landed on Alice Hazel Sorrel. Bringing the princess over to her Cara gave a deep curtsy as a way of both passing along Valori and thanking her for the dance. She stepped back into the crowd and waited.

Alice wasn't really a fan of big party's, it usually meant a lot of extra work had too be done and very little time she can be home taking care of her family. But tonight even she had too admit was magical, multiple groups people all from different walks of life had gathered in one spot and are some how not fighting amongst each other. Truly a sight that will never be seen again. At some point music stared playing as Alice was too involved in her work too have noticed the princess speach, one minute shes watching a group of odd partygoers and the next her hand is taken as she is lead into the dance. Where before she knew what was even happening the lady of the hour was brought before her. Nervously she took the princess hand and trys her best not too make a foul of her self, though it was rather obvious the poor girl probably never danced in her life. But luckily for her the princess must of since this kept it from looking too bad. After the music had died down Alice hands her off too the next in line a foriegn looking man by the judge of things.

The Samurai did not know what to think of all the people that stood around him, the atmosphere of the ballroom as the princess spoke and even the detailed interior of such a place. He had never seen such a place in all his life. At home in his families temple and even as he resided in his master's home. Everything had seemed such simpler and yet so delicate. The concentration they must have put into sculpting the shape and mold of the walls it astounded him. But the real astonishment came when everyone fell silent as princess Valori spoke to everyone in the great hall. If he were to cough, surely everyone would notice. The speech was elegant and gripped his attention like an iron clad gauntlet. Addressing everyone in the room, from the commonwealth, the rich, and the poor. Even he and his master were unable to escape the fact in a way, they were recognized just like everyone else. A true gathering of humanity in that moment. Where differences not only did not matter, but seemed to be unheard of.

As the speech ended and a ceremony began to proceed. It was in that moment that Velix let free of a breath he had been holding and felt a tap on his shoulder. “She is rather beautiful is she not?” His master whispered to him, inches from his ear. Looking to the man slightly older than himself, Velix gave a warm smile and nodded. He would not deny that she was in fact beautiful. However he was not here seeking the hand of anyone for that matter. He had come as a countermeasure just incase his master's life had been attempted upon. So far there had been no such fool so eager to cross the edge of his blade as a result. Holding tight to the two blades tucked under his sash, Velix watched in aw as the masked figures marched down the steps in such unison he could see no mistake in their march.

But as he noticed the red figures begin to move through the crowd. Velix turned to his master and spoke in a soft but rich tone. “Master please stay by my si-.” but before he could finish, the samurai felt a tap on his arm. Looking to see one of the red figures holding out their hand to him, Velix quickly looked to his master with wider than normal eyes. On one hand, he was acting as one of the representatives of japan and wished not to disrespect their customs. However on the other, Velix had to protect his master. But as the red figure took his hand, he watched as his master smiled and motioned for him to go. “Go on Shotoa. I will be alright.” with the permission from his master, Velix nodded and made no attempt to resist as the figure pulled him to one of the points of the pentagon made of figures. He however had not known what he was getting himself into.

As he heard the music begin, Velix then understood this was a dance. Just for those chosen by the red figures. An individual dance with the princess for each of them. This was something far out of his comfort zone. But he had no choice now but to do as these people wished. Slipping his hands from the sleeves of his gia, Velix produced a small box holding the token he had brought for Princess Valori. Placing it on the floor before the masked figures as they seemed to vanish into the floor. A very peculiar trick indeed. He then slipped off his sandals and placed them beside it. Certainly not foot wear fit for dancing such as this. And in that moment another terrible thought dawned upon him. He did not know this style of dancing. But now was the best time to learn. Taking two deep breaths, Velix calmed the nerves in his head as he focused on the way the princess and her partners one after the other danced. Watching their movements closely as they flowed in grace over the ballroom floor. Soon he came to an understanding of the steps he needed to take in order to keep in sync with her. However as soon as that time came it was now his turn as he stepped forward with Princess Valori being passed off to him by a beautiful blonde woman.
Bowing to her, he then turned to the princess and placed his hands where he had seen them do it.

Taking a deep breath Velix relaxed his body and adjusted the swords tucked under his sash once more so they would not cause trouble of pressing against her body. Feeling the rhythmic tones of the music Velix calmed his heart as he began the dance with her step for step. If anyone had known he could not dance, they would not be capable of telling now as he did his best to stay in sync with her. His movements precise, but delicate as he flowed like a river with her. Being somewhat taller than most men, Velix had to look down slightly in order to meet her gaze. Speaking in a soft voice he felt implied to apologize.

“Forgive me princess Valori but i have never performed such a dance as this before. I do hope i am light enough on my feet to not make a fool of myself in front of someone such as you.” he gave a warm smile. However to his surprise she did not respond, but instead only offered him the same smile in return. But he understood as this was a dance. And so giving it all he had, Velix smiled as the two moved about the large pentagon. He was surprisingly enjoying himself and felt very relaxed in such a situation.

After what seemed like a few minutes of dancing with her, it was time for him to pass her along to the next lucky candidate of this dance as the music drained. Reaching the armor clad knight and handing her off, Velix gave a warm smile before placing his hands into his sleeves and bowing his head in respect and thanks. Quickly stepping out of the way, he retrieved his Sandals and slid the small box back into the sleeve of his gia. Watching as the princess danced with the man he had handed her off to.

The eyes of the Princess' personal Royal guard roamed the ballroom, identifying important individuals as well as those who might pose a risk to the princess. Nobles with their own guards, resentful poor citizens, various traveling warriors and mercenaries. From where Adrian stood at the base of the great staircase he could see well enough, the people he identified tended to stand out at any rate. So far the night seemed to be going well. To the guests it may have seemed like the night was only starting, but for Adrian it had started hours, days before when the wealthy began pouring into the capital in preparation for the ball. It was his job to ensure the princess' personal safety, and in order to fulfill the job he'd made sure to stay informed on everything that was being planned for the ball.

The princess was, as ever, splendidly beautiful as she descended the main stairs and addressed those gathered in the hall. As far as he could recall, he had never had any special feelings for the princess beyond his duty as a knight, but he would be amiss if he did not join in the crowd for a moment in admiring her beauty. As her speech began though, his eyes turned back to roaming the hall for suspicious individuals. He had heard the speech before, albeit somewhat muffled through the doors as he'd been standing guard outside her quarters as she practiced. Of course, words half heard through the walls held no candles to words spoken gracefully to a wide audience gathered beneath the speaker.

Then came the dance. Several audible gasps could be heard from those nearby as the robed figures made their performance. Adrian himself watched with satisfaction as things continued to go on without a hitch. A lot of effort had been put into this part of the ball, some of the robed figures had to have been specially trained or else they'd have been short on magicians who could perform the proper tricks. Adrian's eyes followed the red robed figures as the broke away, eventually settling on one that approached him directly. Good, his work had paid off after all. Now he could stay closer to the princess and maintain a position better suited for protecting her well being.

The Royal knight allowed himself to be guided out onto the dance floor by the hooded figure. Once they had sunk into the floor, Adrian looked over the other chosen Dancers. The first was a woman, a maid or a barkeep if Adrian had to guess. She seemed kindhearted and the sort of person who was used to serving other people. Adrian felt little worry about her presence. The next person was yet another woman, this one Adrian recognized. He recalled seeing her in knight training recently, she was one of the recent additions to the apprentice guards. With an event of this size it was hardly surprising the apprentice guards had been called in to help as well. Third was the first male dancer, and to Adrians surprise, it was a samurai. Or... a Samurai in training? His nervous demeanor made it evident he wasn't used to events such as this, probably not being put in the spotlight like this either.

Then it was his turn. Adrian accepted the princess' hand and the two danced in time with the music. While he certainly was no expert, he'd been instructed on proper dancing when he'd received special training to join the Royal order of Knights. Royal knights often had to help represent their kingdom, so it was essential they knew enough not to make fools of themselves. It occurred to him that seeing the princess dance with her personal bodyguard might start some rumors. He'd have to put some exra work in to quell any that popped up, lest they inconvenience the princess.

Once he'd danced his dance and the music began to shift, Adrian guided the princess over to the final specially selected dancer. Adrian had not had a chance to properly appraise his person, but he was hardly in a position to judge him before handing the princess off to him. So as he approached, the Royal knight gave him a cold, appraising look which clearly spelled out that Adrian would have his eye on him.

Varen was uncomfortable. Supremely so.

It wasn’t because of the decorations; they weren’t gaudy, but rather tasteful, even elegant, one might even say. Neither was the palace’s size discomfiting to the young man. He had been in plenty of similar places: other castles, cathedrals, etcetera, etcetera... Though, admittedly, this place was one of the largest. No, it was the unfortunate consequence that came because of the palace’s size.

The people! They were the problem! He felt squished, cramped, observed. The masks didn’t help. The fact that everyone of every class was invited didn’t help. He didn’t want to come in the first place, he wanted to be out working. Oh, how bored he was! Aside from the occasional glance at his pockets to make sure no one was pickpocketing him, he was free. Free from problems. Free from thinking. And he hated it. He needed to do something, but that was considered rude.

And speaking of the devil, here comes his client right now, short and thin; with a mustache that would put a beard to shame, with a head that was balding in the middle. Overall, a comical figure. But an influential one; and one that wanted to show him off. Varen’s thoughts were cut off by Mazien Urien’s, the man’s name, high pitched, nasal voice: “Why, Varen! Why aren’t you dancing with the others! You’re standing practically on the walls!” And that was true. Varen’s anti-sociality was at it’s height: he was standing almost against the wall, trying to stay out of everyone’s way.

He had tried to dance, once. His partner, a cobbler, by the looks of her, the smell of her, the way her hands were calloused, the way she spoke, acted, talked! It was glaringly obvious. And while she could dance well enough, her rambling and gossiping got on Varen’s nerves. So, as soon as he was politely able to, he managed to excuse himself out of this terrible, motonous, soul deadening talk. He had not danced since.

“Why, I’m wondering why no ladies have danced with you- you certainly could make them swoon!” The idiot was talking again. And this subject, Varen would not deal with it. While Varen was handsome enough, his fierce, hawkish appearance intimidated many. Combined with the fact that he couldn’t deal with idiots, that lowered his chances immensely. That, and he never had any interest in courting; he was too busy with his job, his investigations. Still, he gave the man a piercing glare with his yellow eyes, fierce enough to make the shorty step back a step. Thankfully, before the man could respond, another individual, this one armored, approached Varen with a partner; this man was acting with a purpose.

And what a woman! The princess herself! Varen couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows. Why would the princess want to dance with him? He was an American, not a noble. His musings were disturbed by the previous man’s cold stare. Obviously, this man was a royal guard. Handing her off to a stranger obviously rankled him. Varen smirked at the guard; his wolffish smile held no promises- despite the fact that he had no intention, and probably never would have any intention, of harming the princess.

As the two began dancing off, Varen couldn’t help but look at his client and smirk, as he saw the man’s dumbfounded gape. Old coot. Yet Varen had to focus on dancing. He was not the best dancer, he admitted that; however, neither was he the worst. He had done this dance once or twice before; he liked his level of expertise, as it allowed him to blend in. Still, he supposed be must be his best, be perfect.

As the dancing couple moved around the room, Varen couldn’t help but have mixed feelings about how everyone moved out of their way slightly. It prevented the dreaded crush of bodies, but also drew attention to him. So, In order to distract himself, he tried to put himself in the guard’s shoes. Not literally, as he was probably a flank, but...

He could see how the man was serious. He was in charge of protecting the princess. He was handing her off to a complete stranger. Yet, Varen realized, he wasn’t a complete stranger. The two had approached him with purpose. So, obviously, he was chosen; the guard knew that, probably. So, they obviously knew he wouldn’t try to assassinate the princess. Yet, why did the princess choose him.

He did not tolerate social intrigues. He gave the princess one of his famous piercing stares with his golden eyes. It was obviously an inquiry, and Varen expected an answer. Imperious of him? Perhaps, but he despised such mysteries. He had no evidence. No pieces to the puzzle. He was chosen, seemingly out of the blue.

Once the last dance came to an end. The princess was escorted back up to the top of the stairs by a maid and she once again turned to speak the crowd, which had finally begun to stir during the previous scene. She smiled as she spoke. This seemed different from the face she made before despite being the exact same. Mistress Valori Kargrofski's lips parted and once again her voice once again silenced and overtook the atmosphere of the room.

Ladies, Gentlemen and other beings, those of our nation and those not.
The common poor and the spare rich. Those of health and those of sickness. The young, the old. Those of great faith and those of humanist dreams.
It is time for you to take to the floor and forget the worries of the world.
In my good grace, to shed your differences, your status's, your prodigious, nationality, your very sense of self.
Become people.
Not people of the world, but people of the night.
Humans enjoying a momentous night together.
As one.

Valori smiled and waved to the crowd as the music began to play once more and the patrons all moved in to fill the space of the dance floor which was more than enough to accommodate everyone. Meanwhile, the Euro-Russian Princess resigned to special quarters, finally getting to rest. No one else was in the room but her. Taking a moment she shed out of her very ornate dress and put it into a closet, taking out a much simpler, and for her status a much more casual outfit before promptly dropping herself on the room's couch with a loud sigh.

The same or at least identical Red Masked figures entered the ballroom from hidden hatches in the walls, once again moving throughout the room and towards the previous chosen Five guests. Taking them and leading past the guards to the princess's private chambers.

(Sorry for the late post. Basically. Everyone's thoughts after the dance, maybe small talk and being taken to the princess/their first words upon entering the room

The Samurai let out a soft sigh as the smile did not leave his face from earlier. He was happy to have been part of such a special dance. Slowly making his way back to his master as the princess climbed up the stairs to once again speak to the people, Velix did his best to stay quiet as he moved. He was known for many acts of wonder. Stealth being one of them. Returning to his master, the samurai bowed slowly before taking his place beside him to watch the princess speak. However it being short, the words made a well rounded impact as he watched all of them now fill the room and dance together. No matter who with. Just dancing. “How was your dance with the princess?” Turning to face his friend, Velix smiled softly.

“Not my most comfortable position having all those people watching us...However the feeling of such a thing made up for it. It was wonderful.” Velix kept the smile to his expression as he watched the crowds enjoy themselves.

“Your very lucky Shotoa. Perhaps you are about to get more luck.” his friend pointed out as he spoke at a red figure. Once again coming in their direction. As the figure approached, they proceeded to hold out their hand to Velix. The samurai frowned as he looked to his master.

“I will go with you, but may I ask that my master comes along as well?” the red figure only stood there for a moment before shaking their head and pointing at only Velix. Sighing softly he looked to his master before bowing. “i will return soon enough my brother.” And with that Velix was once again away from his master, as the red figure lead him up the stairs and down a long hallway.

Soon the masked figure stopped and turned to him. Stopping a few feet away, Velix was worried if this might be a trap. Keeping his hand on the palmal of his noginato, he knew if that were the case they would be in for a big surprise. But as they stood there, the figure bowed to him, in which the samurai gave the same courtesy. Pointing to the door next to them, the red figure motioned for him to enter. Looking puzzled for but a moment, Velix rubbed his chin, debating whether or not he should take the chance. He did not wish to fight anyone if it came to such an incident. However so far there had been no such threat.

Finally coming to a decision he decided to enter the room. What was the worst that could happen to him. Stepping up to the door, Velix let out a breath before taking the courtesy to knock first before entering. Hearing no answer he gently opened the door. As the elegant room came into view one thing stuck out for sure. Princess Valori Kargrofski herself, setting upon a couch. Bowing almost immediately as his eyes gazed upon her, he spoke in a rich respectful tone. “My apologies your highness. The red figure lead me to this room. I was not informed i would be meeting you in private.” Returning to his normal stance, Velix noted he was the only one in the room with her thus far. ‘perhaps the others that were selected will be here.’ He wondered to himself as he stood there. Doing as the red figure had instructed him to do, the samurai stepped through the doorway before it was closed behind him.

As the private dance finally came to an end. Alice started to walk back too her post still visibly shaken from the events that transpired, why was she of all people chosen for this dance of all people chosen, was clearly the least likely too be chosen almost them all. As she arrived back at her post she sees figure of her commanding officer and teacher, her heart skipped a beat as she saw this. "My apologies for leaving my post, sir." Her superior shock his head "be at ease Miss Sorrel your not in trouble, in fact you should feel honored to have been given such a chance." "Um think you sir." "Now looks like your time with the princess isn't over yet" and almost if on cue she turns around and sees the the red figurine holding out its hand, "dont worry about your post Miss Sorrel we have plenty of people too cover, while your needed elsewhere." Alice nodded talking the figures had as it leads her up too the more restricted floors and up too a large door where it let's go of her hand and points too the door. Alice nods she enters the room, the forgen looking man from earlier was already there and sitting on the couch in front of her was the princess her self. She gives a respectful bow "good evening my lady apologies for my poor um dance earlier."

As soon as the dance was completed, Adrian moved swiftly back to his always assumed position: a few paces behind the princess. Close enough for him to be able to intervene in the case of any danger, but far enough that he wouldn't be a bother to her highness. As far as he was concerned, this was his proper place in the world and was quite happy to fulfill his position. So as the princess addressed the crowds again he waited patiently. He waited as the princess did for the guests to fill the dance floor once again. And when she turned away to remove herself to her private quarters, He followed a respectful distance behind and took up a position outside the doors in order to ensure no uninvited guests entered the private rooms.

Leaving the party did not bother Adrian, at least it not much so. There was a slight tinge of regret, as quite a lot of work had been put into the ball and he would have liked to see it play out some more. But he knew his duty was to the princess. It was not his job to walk around glamorous halls, flaunting his position and talking up pretty girls like so many of the nobles and other knights. No, as long as the princess was safe he would be satisfied.

Approaching footsteps pulled his attention down the hall, which would be followed by the sight of a red-hooded fellow leading the Samurai who had danced toward him. He recalled that the princess had intended for a few private discussions during the party, and if the samurai was being led by an official there could be little doubt. He allowed the samurai to enter the Princess' private quarters, though he listened carefully for any signs of trouble. Only a moment later another red hooded figure came down the hallway, this time leading the guard-in-training that had danced with the princess. Likewise with the Samurai, he allowed her to enter.

He couldn't help but feel a little surprised that two of the people the princess wished to discuss with had been people who had danced with her. Still, two is only a coincidence, he shouldn't think anything of it. Or, at least, he wouldn't have if yet another red-hooded figure came down the hallway toward him. This time however, there was no person being led to the princess' chambers. Rather, the red-hooded figure walked toward Adrian himself, much to the Royal knight's surprise.

"Her majesty would like your presence in her chambers, she wishes to discuss matter with you." The hooded figure told him. They were slightly out of breath, probably due to having been attempting to move through all the crowds in the ballroom to find him before realizing he'd already gone off with the princess. Adrian simply nodded in reply, and turned toward the doors to the princess' chambers. After a swift knock to announce his entering, he opened the door and let himself in, closing it quickly behind him.

Adrian stepped forward into the room, after offering a quick bow to the princess, his eyes swiftly surveying the scene. The Samurai and the Guard were still there, along with an air of waiting still in the room. The princess must be waiting for a certain number of people before starting her discussion. Adrian doubted it would only be the three of them the princess wished to meet, so he said and asked nothing. What he did do was take a second, closer look at the other two people that were there. The samurai seemed fairly nervous, perhaps not as much now that he wasn't in the center of a ballroom floor, but still looked fairly uncomfortable in her highness' presence.

The guard in training Adrian recognized, if only by sight. She had stood out to him when he and the princess had passed by one of their training sessions. Perhaps it had been something in her expression at the time, but she appeared to have a stronger motivation to become a respectable knight than those around her. Perhaps she had someone important to protect, like how the princess was important to him. Adrian gave her a nod of respect to acknowledge her presence before returning to his usual position.

The Princess smiled at her arrivals sitting up from the couch and bouncing over to them, looking energetic which contrasted her aura of tiredness. "You all did wonderfully, and certainly no disrespect was had." She said mostly to the foreigner who obviously doubted his role in another kingdoms ceremony. "There's no need to be so formal, we're out of the public eye." The princess shrugged and skipped to Alice and gave her a quick peck on the cheek before taking a step back and moving to the large piano. "This is a gift from my late grandmother." Velix gave a warm smile as the princess told them how they all had done wonderful. Being away from the public now. He could see she was just the same in personality as she had to he infront of the masses. As she infromed them they didnt have to be so formal anymore, Velix wanted to object but instead kept to himself as she went on to show them her skills with the keys. Knowing the tune she was playing Velix smiled as he rested his hands inside his sleeves. But as he did he felt the small box and cursed to himself in his thoughts how he had almost forgetten. Doing his best to adhere to what she asked of them, the samurai spoke in a less formal tone as he retrieved the box from his sleeves.

"Miss Valori. I almost forgot the token my clan sent with me to present to you." Holding out the box in his hands, Velix slowly opened it to show a large cherry blossom encased in a clear crystal. Along with it was a note he proceeded to read as it was in japanese.

"Dearest Princess. We of the black claw clan send our congratulations with our newest master samurai and son Shadow's Talon. In the main temple flourish there stands a single tree. It only blooms once a year.

this is an event we of the black claw call the time of new beginnings. We hope that everytime you look upon this cherry blossom it shall resemble a new beginning in your favor.

sincerely,
Velis and Mara Shotoa."

Placing the box infront of her, Velix gave a warm smile before stepping back. But as he stood there. The thought of his parents placed a sadened expression upon his face. he had not visited them in so long. 'Perhaps i will go see them when we return to Tengu.'

Moments after Alice's arrival, another man walked in that Alice recognized from the dance, but now that she has a better look at him it was rather obvious who he was. Adrian Aylian the princess royal guard, she never thought she would ever be standing right beside a man of such rumor and respect before but here she was. For ah moment she could of sworn he looked at her in a respectful way, but it was so fast it felt like her head was playing tricks on her.

After that moment of wonder the princess finally spoke, to her surprise rather casually to every one there as well as reassuring everyone else can do the same. It was rather surprising and comforting too hear but this didn't stop Alice from keeping a formal appearance until the princess skipped over too her and kisses her on the check. Now that pretty much turned her face red as a uncontrollable amount of thoughts ran through her head, 'am I suppose too kiss back, is the princess hitting on me, why me her rumored boyfriend is right there, Oh my God that one rumor was true!, ahhhhhhhhhhh!' This and many thought ran through her head as she said "ah um m m my lady I'm sure there are better people too chose then me." She said shyly. And then the music started and all her thoughts pretty much quiet down as she admired the music being played.

After all that the foreign man spoke and held out a box for the princess as a present. And that's when the thought in her head screamed 'we were supposed to bring a gift!, ahhhhhhhhh!'.

Adrian sighed to himself. In truth he wasn't surprised by the princess' light behavior, but he had hoped she would have had a bit more decorum considering the importance of the evening's events. As it was, Adrian could hardly be surprised at the flustered look on the apprentice-guard's face. It had almost always been the same when people discovered the princess' true nature. He himself had been caught off guard at first. And the princess had even kissed the apprentice guard's cheek! He couldn't help but smile slightly at that, it was a funny scene to witness. Still, Adrian felt he should at least say something to help calm her down.

"Do not worry, I'm sure the princess thinks very highly of you." He told the guard, still smiling slightly. He paused for a moment as the samurai approached the princess and offered his gift. The royal knight fingered his own gift in his pocket, wondering if he should offer it now as well. No, he should let the princess properly respond to the samurai first, it would be selfish rude to interrupt the moment. So instead he turned back to the guard.

"You're one of the new apprentice guards, correct? I saw you at a training session not to long ago."

"I must have mistaken the training segment I saw you at as a beginners level course. Please accept my apologies." Adrian replied, bowing his head for a moment in apology. Usually he was more observant than that, perhaps he was developing tunnel vision on protecting the princess... He privately resolved to take a better interest in the various going-ons around the castle. It would be shameful for the princess if her Bodyguard was clueless to the things around him.

"At any rate, I suppose I should say 'New official Knight' then. Congradulations on your upcoming graduation. Any idea as to where you will be positioned?"

"Where ever you are put, I hope it makes good use of your skills. It would be a shame to have someone like you stuck underground guarding thew cellars or the likes." Adrian replied, trying to keep his tone and expression open and friendly. She still seemed fairy flustered, Perhaps he should take a step back in the conversation. "I don't believe I've asked your name yet. Mine is Adrian, Adrian Aylian.

"Alice Hazel Sorrel... Yes a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Sorrel." Adrian paused for a moment, trying to remember if he'd heard the name before. He concluded he hadn't, or if he had it had only been in brief passing in some official listings somewhere. "I hope the guard life has been treating you well. I recall some of the instructors can be quite harsh."
