Fantasy Powerful Magic

"There be no warfare in the Ice Domain. None of you will be able to sustain yourselves there, and it will take decades before any outsiders will be able to adapt to the habitat." Gywneira said frostily, and she tugged her hood down further to avoid the sun. She mumbled angrily under her breath about the heat

"All the Chosen will be dragged into this war eventually. But if you insist, I agree." Conner told the Chosen. She will just be among the last to fall to him. Some hardy people lived there no doubt, but it would probably be a small one. Her Gifted or Touched would be more of a problem.

Luna looked around. "This place is to hot for a convergance for these people of water and ice." She said, letting the orbs drop from her fingers. She stood up crossing her arms. She was not very friendly to those who she had not seen, which was a lot of people. She looked around at all the others, shutting her book.

Gwyneira snorted beneath her hood. Didn't sound like the Light Chosen really meant his words, but let them try to commandeer the people of snow and ice. Blizzards there could last up to months, and those who didn't grow up in the Ice Domain had few chances of survival. "Understatement of century there," she murmured in reply to the Water Chosen. She was the worst off here, since heat affects Ice more than Water.

I finally got to the meeting from a trip by a cloud, i already saw mostly all of the mages already there and arguing like usual, to be honest i was getting tired of it. I mean why couldn't we all just be friends, work together, and act like a family, then all of this fighting and arguing will be done with. I sighed not really getting any enthusiasm for even coming to the meeting, i made some hand motions which made the cloud that i was on descend slowly. When the cloud was a few inches from the ground i hopped off and i did another hand motion which made the cloud disappear. I looked around "I'm here, did we already start?!" I ask acting like i really cared even though inside of me i really didn't.

"Do not worry, Nature has just decided to appear himself." Conner said to the Storm. His acolytes did not like the show the Storm mage put on, but reacted in different ways. Some held on to their reigns as if ready to turn their horse and flee, only held in check by the punishment for cowardice. Others eased their swords in their sheaths, preparing to die for the Light.

"Light, tell your fanatics to calm themselves." Gwyneira bit out, slightly irritated that she was the least physically aged of all the Chosen. "We meet under a symbol of truce, there will be no fighting for the duration of the meeting." She glared at the soldiers following the Light Chosen. She would do the worst against them if it actually came to physical fighting; she was already affected enough by the weather, no need to add her physical stature onto the list.

"They know the terms of the meeting." Conner said but still giving his acolytes reproachfully. Most of them calmed down visibly, but a few still kept their hand on their sword. "I apologize for their behavior. Some mortals are just... twitchier? Yes, twitchier than others."

"Twitchy. Not a word I would use to describe those fanatics of yours, but say as you might." Gwyneira replied, her words as icy as the blizzards in the Ice Domain. She turned to stare at the Light Chosen, no emotion in her eyes whatsoever. "Control your followers. Do remember it would reflect badly on yourself." She adjusted her glasses on the bridge of her nose, not even twitching a muscle as she stood still.

"Are we going to even finish this meeting, because we already know what is going to happen. There is going to be a war no matter how much we talk it out. The elements and those damned mortals want a fight, I'm just going to head off in the next few minutes while you all try to talk it out for no damned reason."

"Kevin has called a meeting. It would be rude to leave until the meeting is finished." Conner replied. He wanted to make Alex an ally, but he just teemed too hot headed.

"It was also rude to bring unnecessary wastes of space to this meeting." Gwyneira muttered under her breath, too distracted by the weather to be polite or even anywhere next to friendly. She really, really, really wanted to be somewhere else right now, anywhere but these hot, miserable plains filled hostile and annoying mortals.

"I did not bring them, they followed." Conner said, exploiting this technicality. "And they are humans like you or me. If you call them a waste of space, what are you then?"

"Unlike them, I actually think instead of following someone else blindly." Gwyneira retorted back. "And the last time I checked, this was a meeting between the Chosen."

"He just called a meeting. He never said it was just between the Chosen." Conner once more exploiting a technicality. As for the other part, he had nothing to say. They did follow him blindly, a gift and a curse, each useful in it's own way. "Now, I hate to hi-jack your meeting Kevin, but is there anything else any of you would like to say?"

"Apparently not, this was meant to agree to terms of a war, but you are all intereted in being somewhere else, so go. I won't keep you here any longer. But I would suggest everyone get some sort of ally, even one of us wouldn't stand a chance against two." Kevin was annoyed by everyone at this meeting. He was most annoyed at the ones who thought to bring humans. But since he had called the meeting together, he would be the last to leave.

Alex calmed down a little bit and returned to the circle of the mages. "I'll listen to the rules of the meeting and send my men back the way they came only can work out a honorable way of fighting." Alex turned to his men that were standing attentively to the whole conversation "Men! leave now before I have to tell your families that you died during a bandit attack." ALex turned back towards the rest of the group, "Connor would you kindly tell your men to stand down and go some where with their steads so we can talk about this like people and not savages. "I apologize for my actions and words earlier and will tkae any punishment that is deemed nessecary for causing the hostile tension during this peaceful meeting."

"Fine." Conner said before waving his hand over his shoulder. One of the acolytes bowed in the saddle before turning and barking out orders. "Continue." he said to the gathering.

"Thank you Connor, Alex you may continue on with the meeting and now will everybody relax since the humans are gone. I sorry connor, I hope we can still talk after the meeting, I just want there to be some actual things getting done here instead of arguing for no gains or any front.

“Now thats over with, Conner, Alex, would you kindly shut up. Kevin didn’t drag us all the way to a god forsaken plain to have you try and make a show of military might.” Rowan said it all with a smile as though he was scolding two small children for misbehaving and in a way he was. Conner and Alex both clearly desired war. Still going about it by making all the other Chosen their enemies was foolish. “Kevin you’ve clearly come to the conclusion war is inevitable. However...it would seem some of us are not so convinced.” Everybody knew those he was talking about so he saw no reason to name names. “If you have terms Dark Mage lay them before us so we can decide if we accept or not.”

"Thank you Rowan." Kevin shifts slightly, the shadows around him seeming to move towards his feet, as if they knew what was about to be said was important and didn't want to get in his way. "As I said, I called all you to speak about terms for a war, and so far all we agreed on was to ignore anyone without a weapon. But I also called to say what should have been noticed a long time ago. The Elements around us have been agitated, they have been conflicting with each other. Their actions influence us, just as we influence them. So, I am hoping to stay out of this war, to get to understand the elements more." At the declaration he would not participate in the war, the shadows around him and everyone else's shadow wavered, the ones at his feet almost seeming to lurch in anger.

Alex continued to listen to what kevin had said and listen with good intent. "I see what you are saying kevin, that seems like a good idea. What if most of us here vote to not go to war and the elements get very displeased and try to do something. What would we do about that, they could easily take us out of the picture as easy as it was for them to put us in this postion."

"Ice will refrain from conflict unless attacked. The cold is merciless; nothing will happen if we are not provoked." Gywneira replied, but a small frown crossed her features at Alex's suggestion. "But if the elements truly decide to war, we would not be able to resist. We do not know what pushes the elements to war, so we will not be able to predict their movements."

"Wait, I don't understand, why must there be a war? Is it because the people?! The people want to see violence?, if the people want to see violence, we give them a tournament! We don't have to fight, and if there is a war, what would we be gaining from it?! Wounds? Burns? Severe injuries? Death? I don't see any point in a war!" I say trying to reason with the others but not knowing if it's working.

"The elements demand a war. We are as miuch a slave to them as we are the people." Conner said, spunding like he didn't want a war. But this was perfect. It is harder for him to notice what the light wants during the day, but now that Kevin confirmed it, he could whip his people into a fanatical frenzy screaming for war. It was perfwct really.
