Year 30XX
The year mankind took the "great leap". Hyperspace travel. Phasing and Teleportation. Perfect cloning and bio-engineering. Transmutation and fabrication of the natural environment. Terraforming and cyber colonies. Over the span of a little less than half a millennia, a backwater "shithole" civilization went from obscurity to a intergalactic superpower too big to ignore. Humanity would take a seat for itself at the intergalactic table whether the "higher lifeforms" agreed or not. What enabled humanity to reach so far and so soon? The expansive order known as Starforce. A vanguard of the most capable explorers throughout the galaxies, they gained notoriety for their handling of essential tasking, and with that notoriety came more contracts, more resources, the eventual snowballing that spawned the precipice of an Empire. A new age, where humanity would set the stage as not just actors, but directors.
Starfleet Academy
Starfleet Academy is where recruits to Starfleet's officer corps are trained. It was created in the year 28XX , when the United Federation of Planets was founded. The Academy's motto is "Ex astris, scientia" – "From the stars, knowledge." This is derived from the Apollo 13 motto "Ex luna, scientia" – "From the moon, knowledge." In turn, the Apollo 13 motto was inspired by "Ex scientia, tridens," the motto of the United States Naval Academy, meaning "From knowledge, seapower."
Starfleet Medical Academy is responsible for training Starfleet Medical personnel (Pink and Green Rangers). It accepts only 300 students each year. It is one of several sub-campuses in the Academy system.
Races
The most common race of the 30XX are of course humans, humans are descendants of the planet Earth.
How are humans different? Though relatively "middling" in terms of ability in comparison to some other lifeforms. Humans have adapted to the extremities of space in unique and remarkable ways. This evolution gave rise to the nomenclature Human+. PSI was reserved as a component to meet the criteria of an "advanced lifeform. " Although somewhat rare among the population,
it's theorized at least 10% of humans possess PSI ability in some form and that population has steadily trended upward since the "great leap".
Sekker Tribe
A race of insect-like hominid beings inhabiting the solar system. They are the native occupants of mars. However, they have been displaced since the great intergalaxy war which saw their position weakened and homeworld ravaged and eventually colonized by humans and reconstructed. Due to the treatise. Sekker are not allowed to hold certain positions in government. Somewhat regarded as a second-class species. They are not known to possess PSI of any form.
