So, it would be something like this:

As you can see, right there on the right, there is a "Recent Posts" side bar showing ALL the recent posts in the Forum. Knowing the high amount of posts that you get in 10 minutes at least, this thing wouldn't change. It would only refresh the recent posts if the user refreshed the page.


It would show the Topic's name and tag, also showing who made the last post (which is going to activate the trigger, so the post can appear on the side bar) and the time that person wrote this last post.


It would support at least 5-7 posts, allowing the user to have a better view of the latest posts.


What do you guys think?

The site's layout is mostly based on add-ons and then coding from there.


I don't know if integrating this would be as simple as putting in an add-on or having to code the whole thing manually.


Personally, I just don't see it providing THAT much utility if it's taking ALL the forums into account.


Granted, yes, it would be a little more visible, but it's something you already get from glancing over any of the forums on the home page.


I just don't know if it's worth as much trouble as it may cause, since our system already supports what is essentially the same concept, if that makes any sense. :S
