Posts Automatically Merge

This happened in my private workshop. 


I was copying and pasting two things so that I could compare them and the posts were automatically merged. 


It's a lot easier to compare two things if they're distinct and unique posts. I can get automerging making sense in threads and rps to avoid spam, but in a private workshop, this feature really doesn't seem to make any sense to me.

Can't you just put a line between the two posts you want to compare? The tag you used for this thread was "bug". "A software bug is an error, flaw, failure or fault in a computer program or system that causes it to produce an incorrect or unexpected result, or to behave in unintended ways."

What this means is that auto-merging posts are not a bug. They're simply something that is apparently bugging you. Anyway, try what I suggested.

So it is spam even in a private workshop where no one can see it? How does that make sense? 


How much time has to pass before it will not auto merge?

Technicality aside, I suggest taking screenshots of the separate pieces of material.  Or, you can create two, separate threads and compare them side by side.  Or, edit and preview your workshop in two separate windows without actually "saving" the work in the editor.  I know that these solutions involve moving back and forth between tabs but it may help your solution.


I believe it used to be 10 minutes, but if I recall correctly, it was decreased down to five minutes.
