Looking for Active Posters v 2.0
Here's the old thread. Multiple Settings - Looking for Active Posters Lots of detailed information in there, still good stuff. I decided to go light on this one.

Criteria:
- Be active. For Serious. If this is your hobby you should post on a daily basis more often than not (51%)
- Proofread.

Proofread proofread proofread.
It is painfully obvious which of you do not even read your posts over once before posting.

I always review my IC posts before I hit post, most of my OOC posts too. Then, if I had to fix a lot, I read it again - maybe 3 or 4 times. Then, after I've posted it, I will often times read it one more time and edit it because I still missed something!

If your partners drop you a lot and you think it might be because your grammar and punctuation suck, let me know. I'll help anyone who's working on it. I even made a thread for it: Advice/Help - Writing Tune Up. It's the unapologetic and the oblivious I'm mad about.

If, think you grammar, and be punctuation is' not neccesary. If, you think, your msg, gots acrost just find with out . Welp youcan pissup; a -- rope.! Also if your thing that b/c you're on a cellphone at excuses you from ready reviewing you post. You r wring.

I think I'm up for just about anything if you're decent. I've often said that no idea is bad in the right hands. That said, I am ignorant about most fandoms. I'd be ok with using a universe for a frame work but canon characters don't do it for me generally.

Skip the formalities and just pm me. If you've got a general question that you think might be useful to have answered here instead that's fine too.

Here are some posts I've made recently that I thought were good examples of me:

Mary lights a cigarette with cold composure. She stands casually, in regal defiance of the weather, daring it to have the impunity to dampen a street tough such as her. She's careful to stay under the eaves, with her back to the prevailing winds. She holds the cigarette lightly between bony finger tips poking out from fingerless gloves, skin drawn tight from the damp and chill. She inhales slowly but without savor, intent on the scene playing out before her.

She'd been trailing the guy for a bit now. He'd had the look of fresh meat; Nice clothes, a healthy bounce in his step, the look of someone who expected other people to see him, or at least acknowledge his existence. He hadn't the sense yet to score some winter clothes and he obviously had no place to hole up in bad weather. He was new to the street, and needed to be taught a lesson. Mary was more than willing to be that kind of teacher. She was doing him a favor, really. She wasn't planning on killing him, so she'd be making him stronger. Well, smarter anyhow, if a little colder.

When he started heading up towards this end of town she'd decided to let his rope play out a bit more. Wherever he came from he might still have a key, and if she were patient he would show her where it went. She wonders idly, taking another drag, what happened to him, to end up in her sights. Messy divorce maybe, or a stock market crash, or drugs. She nods unconsciously, drugs, it was probably drugs, probably cocaine. That'd be nice, if he had a stash. Might be able to stay a little warmer that way - for a few weeks anyhow. She didn't really care, the plan was still the same.

Another guy shows up on the scene, and that's just as well. They could fight it out and she could ravage the leftovers. Twice the potential profit for half the work. She sees him turn the guy around and reads his startled body language. She takes a short puff and snubs her cigarette, pocketing it for later. This could go quickly and she'd need to be quick too.

She stealths forward, short figure and drab clothes easily obscured by a minivan, and then a hedge. She manages to scurry within earshot and waits.

Resting on the dash to stake out her personal territory her feet sport new shoes and she marvels at them when she thinks he isn't watching. As a cover, she looks out the window and feigns boredom to lull her supposed caretaker into a false sense of security. She has nothing immediate planned, but you never know. Best to keep them unsuspecting. She watches houses go by, taking note at the nicer ones. The whole area seems pretty nice, probably they got the kind of money where they just toss a whole day's worth of food in the trash. The street signs go by too fast for her to read, but she catalogs the shapes of the words and memorizes some of the landmarks. She can do landmarks good. She's pretty sure she could find her way back if'n she had to. Sure. You bet.

The residential zoning gives way to well kept, but more rural highway and she loses interest in the outside scenery. She studies the man driving the car. Carlyle. She's unsure if it's his first or last name. Maybe it was both. Carlyle Carlyle. Probably not, sounded stupid. He was the one driving the car and working for The Man so he couldn't be that stupid. But he was still a stuffed shirt and wasn't clever enough by half. She'd give him the slip easily enough.

Still, it was 3 hots and a cot and some easy living that he offered and where she came from you didn't turn down free food. He was going to be sorely disappointed when he found out she wasn't magic like he thought she was. When that happened he'd probably kick her out, everyone did sooner or later. This time she'd be ready for it. She'd leave and not give him the satisfaction.

Before too long they turn into a driveway and pass through some fancy looking gates. Thinking of the children she's about to meet causes a moments hesitation that is quickly bulldozed by bravado and pure nerve. These other kids were from regular homes. They were soft and fat and lazy. She'd mugged kids twice her age and twice her size. A mental sneer shows up on her face. These school kids were chumps and she'd run all over them. You just wait and see.

Character Sketch

Naomi's fingers cease their rapid tapping. She leans back and doffs her earphones, the tinnier acoustics sound off about disparate difficulties before she clicks the music off. She runs her fingers through slick black hair, scratching her skull idly and gazes upward towards the stars. She is mildly surprised at the time, glancing at her current thesis she smirks you'll have that.

She considered the skylight a luxury. Sure it was a 6 flight hike to her dorm room, and the only other window faced brick 10 yards out, but it was worth it. It was only a small sliver of sky, and she could cite the coordinates at any given time of the year, but it was her slice. She was even able to use it to tell time - she checks her laptop - within a certain margin of error.

Time to prep for sleep. She slides off the bed and stretches lean legs in black stretch pants. She usually elects monochrome clothing and today is no exception. A ragged grey shirt clings flimsily to a chest that is more ribs than breast or belly. She performs a few more stretches, downs an ample, but not excessive, amount of water and curls up to sleep alone.

She doesn't mind solitude, she's known it all her life. Her parents were satisfactory, if distant, and she'd always been in a class of her own growing up. Sometimes quite literally if you considered some of the AP courses. She doesn't consider herself shy, or lonely. Self-labeling with those adjectives would erroneously imply she was dissatisfied with her social life. She accepts a smaller circle of friends for the trade off of knowledge. Knowledge! And damned be he who first cries, hold, enough! She smiles into her pillow at the oft recited mantra and slips into a light, restful, sleep.

So much for a short light recruitment post.

Bump.

One thought on activity. There's a population on these forums that is ok with posting once a week or so. There is also a large portion of our population that flakes, ghosts, or loses interest in rps rather quickly. I wonder how much overlap there is. I think that an RP you only feel like paying attention to every so often, would soon grow to be one you didn't pay attention to at all.

I've got a busy life and can't always post all the time, but I keep it on my priority list and hold up my end. I haven't gotten to work with anyone who I can't keep up with.

I have read both this, and your previous thread as you said it had a more detail, and boy did it!
I think I would really love to roleplay with you, so maybe shoot me a message and we can discuss some ideas?
