Posting Difficulty

I am having some difficulty with the 10 Post/24 Hour Rule. Mainly it's that in my 10+ years of roleplay, I have been taught that it is proper to message the initiator of a thread and ask permission to enter before participating. Especially when new to a forum and when you don't know someone/there aren't established families or groups where you know that you are welcome in threads or that your styles match up. In reading on this forum I have already found a thread which I think may be the type of situation that I seek, however, I don't have the ability to contact the person(s) involved to see if it is okay for me to join.


Help? Suggestions?

Generally, it is acceptable to tag a person and ask them within the OOC if it is ok for you to join.

Yes, but where would you do that? Within the thread that you are interested in?

What kind of thread are you looking at? There should be an OOC within every roleplay.

You mean in the tabs? I am used to an OOC being an "aside" within a post, so I was a bit confused. I'll post there. Thanks!

Yes. There is an OOC tab within every roleplay. That is where out of character conversations happen. That's usually a good place to ask questions.
