i will be posting logo's i have created and if anyone wants me to create something for their RP's just tell me what you want and i will send you it as fast as i can make it. 
this is my first one hope you like it and the others i create:big grin:.

I love the first one. I think it could use a bit more creativity because in my opinion, it's too similar to the original. Other than that, I love the first one. The other two are good but I feel they weren't as professional done as the first.

i showed GgAcE the first one but he said the flame was too distracting and it needed to be more modern looking thats why.

Personally, as a designer myself, I think these need a bit more work done to them.


The flame on the first does not look at all like the rest of the logo and doesn't share the simplistic and clean design that modern sites like RpN thrive so much from.


The others, while enjoyable looking, would need to have the backdrop done in a more digital looking format to fit with the layout of the forums. Perhaps a vector design with some shadowing and lighting effects would have the desired look that I would assume AcE is looking for.


Secondly, if some more 'zazz' is what you're looking for by going with these logos, the fonts on the second and third would need to be changed to something with a bit more personality and heaviness to make the logo stand out.


Thirdly the colors on the third logo, while eye catching, don't lend themselves to a design at all and seem very random choices. Perhaps a colored drop shadow behind each letter would convey the effect you're looking for without being so obstructive of the lettering itself.

well i am doing my best and i'm not using any fancy programs i'm only using.


paint and paint.net i am switching between the two to use different functions from both.


i'm doing my best with what i got.

Instead of re-tooling what we already have that works, maybe your creativity would be better directed making an original logo.

it also takes forever to get rid of the default white backround 
well what do you guys think i should create and the third one i did because i ran out of ideas so do you guys have anything in mind?

Well, I'd recommend getting and learning how to use GIMP. It's an open source image editor that has many functions used in programs like Photoshop.


As for fonts, I would recommend looking online for a multitude of free fonts. Granted, you cannot use them for commercial use, but that shouldn't come into effect here.

well i'm using the computer my school gave me and prety much everything is blocked and you can't download anything so for now i'm stuck with paint and paint.net

so should i keep the flame one and make ones of of that one or even beter can you give me some stuff you want in the logo and i can incorperate them into it.

What is RpNotion?


As a web designer myself, it's already been said. Be different. Adding to something that already exists will work for things like the chair. The chair existed but not on wheels. Someone patented the 4 - 5 wheel chair & boom! It's universal. Logos however? By adding more, you take away from the vision. The RpNation is a simplistic role play forum. The pen represents the writing aspect. The blue & black colors show the scheme while the name? It speaks for itself. By adding a flame I assume the site is on fire? Is that a wave over the "a"? If so is it putting out the fire we just lit? & my hat.... It's not very good against water or fire. It's great for blocking out the sun though!


What I am getting at is simple.... Although our theme is "simplistic", it screams RpNation. I don't need a fancy google image-like rotation to get our name across. Regardless of the logo design, people know as as the RpNation. With or without the pen & color, we are still the RpNation.

I'm really not a fan of the first one. It's very busy and the edges look very 'cut off' due to the nature of the background. It's too colorful and doesn't match the rest of the logo's simplicity at all.


The second isn't as crowded, but the clipart behind the wording doesn't feel like it fits either. On one hand, the style is unfitting and on the other, we've already got a quill before the 'Rp', so why have a brush and paint behind the other side. It seems rather counter-productive to me. Also, I'd recommend a white stroke on the text around 'Nation', AND finding a higher quality clip.


The pixelization on that clip behind the existing logo makes me cringe just a bit. It's probably a .jpg when you should be looking for an .eps or other vector filetype for quality when scaling.
