PROFILE
Exuberant and one-tracked minded, Oliver—or rather his preferential 'Olly'—has a deep admiration and attachment for the sport of PokéRush. But despite his enthusiasm for the game and his desire to be a pro Rush player, he's never played it in any sort of professional capacity; even in his local hometown. Fact of the matter is: he's been shunned from just about every team he attempted to join. Not only are his skills and knowledge of the sport lacking, his paltry party of pokémon—currently sitting at a grand total of one—is an immediate red flag for virtually all competitive teams. After all, how useful can one person and one pokémon make themselves? It's been incredibly difficult for Olly to find other pokémon that are compatible with him and he prefers not forcing a square peg into a round hole—that is: he doesn't force himself to catch pokémon if they seem much more content living wildly.

But his implicit trust in his singular partner, Squirtle, is something to behold. Sure, they seem to butt heads from time to time but that appears to be an intrinsic part of their complex relationship. They look out for each other, they compete with one another; they fight, they laugh, they cry. You'd be hard pressed to find a more textbook definition of 'partner'. It's no doubt that such a strong partnership has its roots in a long, complicated history. As a child, Olly lived as an orphaned vagrant, wandering the streets of Goldenrod. He'd never forget meeting that particularly scrawny Squirtle with the red bandana; straining their muscles as they fought over a bag of food scraps in a tug of war.

The promise that came as they huddled around a small fire. The first time they snuck into a Rush game and had their world torn asunder by the sheer spectacle of it. The player known as the 'Untouchable' as he deftly weaved his way through the opposing forces to score the winning goal. Dreams were made that very day. But dreams are sometimes just that—dreams. For the longest time, even partially now, the thought of becoming a pro player seemed but a mirage in the desert. But if it were perseverance that the pair lacked, then they would've met their end a long time ago.

As they boarded a ship bound for Kanto, the rumors of a crimson jersy being worn once again rekindled the flame of passion within them.

Name: Tana Frelia
Nickname(s): Ta-Ta
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Height: 5'6 Ft, (167 cm)
Weight: 140 Lb
Home Region: Hoenn
Position: Reserve
Jersy Number: 13
Record: 0-16
Profile:
Age does not equal maturity. Tana is a prime example of that. Hailing from Hoenn, Tana has several years of PokeRush experience but still fails to be a contributing member on any team she's on. Prone to impulsive decision making and panicking whenever under pressure, most games are lost when a crucial moment relies on her. It doesn't help she has a unique taste in Pokemon that tend to be unreliable in a PokeRush match.

Wobbuffet, Shedinja, and Castform.

All three are unique Pokemon. In a Pokemon Battle they would have some use, however in PokeRush they prove to be detrimental.

Buffet is too slow to keep with the team and can only retaliate, Ninja can't take hits and only has offensive capabilities, and Caster's weather moves can hinder Tana's teammates by making the terrain more difficult. It doesn't help that Tana herself is a pretty bad trainer herself.

Tana's record has been incredibly negative as whenever she is seen on the field, the opposing team would cry tears of joy in the sight of a 'free win'. Previous teammates of Tana's often called her 'useless' and an 'absolute liability' but that she was a good person whenever they weren't in a match. Their general consensus was that the best position for Tana was the bench.

It is unknown why Tana continues to play despite her team and herself being absolutely terrible at it. She doesn't show a specific interest in the sport, but still intends practice. Tana doesn't possess any passion or history for it, yet she's still stuck with playing over several years. However, it is clear that Tana would be staying around in the scene, as long as any team would recruit her.

Emmett Amaranth

Personal
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 145lbs
Home Region: Unova
Position: Forward Right
Jersy Number: 14
Record: 2 Wins | 5 Losses
Profile

Emmett's family had always been that family that neighbors and friends alike would be surprised got anywhere big.
Owning one of the most popular antique & trinket stores in Opelucid City, six generations of Amaranths saw trainers, rangers, and champions alike come through their doors. Their business, while starting small, only grew after the historical outreach program that brought Opelucid back to its founding roots.

Emmett, unlike many kids his age, never went on their grand Pokémon adventure. In fact, he was the same as his father, grandmother, great grandfather, etc. in the fact that he liked being around aged items, forgotten objects that hold personal histories that could be shared instead of disposed of. While he had been tempted one or twice, it was never any strange obligation or familial pressure that held him back. It was simply that he never went full of it.

The only Pokémon that Emmett truly interacted with outside of running errands and going on jogs, were the ones that showed up unexpectedly at Old Gold. Usually, Pokémon that hid or possessed objects, Emmett accidentally grew a full team simply by being friendly with these lost and abandoned creatures that he so loved.
The PokeRush ideals began when Emmett began reflecting on the time he had spent in Old Gold, and when he suggested he go for a few gym badges, a few classmates only sort of scoffed. This was when Emmett realized that everybody had never pushed him, because nobody truly really ever though he would or could be involved with Pokémon. After some soul searching and treks through tall grass, Emmett began to think that they were right.

Then, he his first Rush game.
Emmett didn't think it was magical or stupendous. He thought it looked difficult, different than most Pokémon-related activities, and something that he could maybe handle. No type matching, no unknowing training, no normal attacks by wild Zangoose or Liepard. There was a small local team bracket that played for fun every weekend or so, and Emmett tried his hand at it.

And, he wasn't horrible. Not great, but not horrible.
Emmett journeyed to Kanto in search of better training and bigger teams with his collection of objectmon. His secondary goal? Show everyone that non-trainers, non-legacies, and non-mammal Pokémon and their trainers can be just as good as the rest. He's got a patch for his jersey that reads 'Old Gold' in honor of the shop he grew up in.

Name: Kaipo Sall
Nickname(s): Kai
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 140 lbs
Home Region: Alola
Position: Conductor (CT)
Jersey Number: #1
Record: 8:2
Profile:
Kaipo Sall, while laid-back and occasionally inattentive, is a well-learned student in the ever-expanding study of Pokemon. Kaipo's ideal life would be like a calm stroll or a gentle boat ride. One where solace lies in the little moments. Quick thrills never did entice her. But the intricacies of pokemon battling? She insists it's just a momentary goal, but Pokerush ignites a focus in her that practically snuffs out a girl with an otherwise mellow attitude.

Kaipo was born when her family took up a cheap green hut. It was large, old, the metal roof sounded like a drum when it rained, and troves of people came and went whenever they pleased. Her parents, specialists in pokemon biology, were hired by the Island Kahuna. Consequently, students all over Alola came to Ula'ula Island just to talk to them. During busier weeks, Kaipo was sent to stay with outside family. After her first years, the Kahuna tasked her parents to regulate a project. They flew out immediately.

To ensure their daughter received an education adequate to their standards, they left her with a trusted colleague. Lono, an earnest young zoologist fresh out of college, jumped at the opportunity to become Kaipo's new teacher and guardian. With the money she was paid, she ordered the construction of a simple wooden cabin. It was built on a snow-capped mountain near Tapu village.

Storm clouds crowded the sky the night they arrived. As Lono shuffled through powdered snow for keys, Kaipo stared inside. Everything behind the glass door was enveloped by shadows. Her young mind could only imagine what lay beyond the foyer. But her eyes adjusted to a modest cabin. And the lights fleshed out a brand new, private, unlived-in house.

There she lived her days simply and efficiently. Mornings were spent with her head dipped deep into thick textbooks. During afternoons, she'd take walks through the forests. And Lono made sure to send her to bed on time each night. Pokemon studies were merely extracurricular. And her parents? They stayed in touch and sent gifts, but a month became two, then three. Boxes of jagged minerals and shiny stones turned to "guess the gift" pretty quickly.

Kaipo's Dewpider arrived in an egg. In fact, all her Pokemon did. But he came wrapped in a box decorated with paper and ribbons. An attached card read, "Late B-Day present." Kaipo didn't set foot beyond the yard after he hatched. Together the pair would eat berries, play memory games, and lounge around. They were never separated. Kaipo kept Dewpider at the front of her mind 'til he was ready for battle.

After Lono taught her basic strategy, Kaipo searched for any trainer who'd battle a little girl and her baby Dewpider. Of course, she'd lose, but it was exhilarating. Every day her excitement to go back out on that route grew. The rush became irresistible.

Eventually, her parents returned, though they insisted on the shack back by Malie city. By the time she evolved her Froslass, Kaipo had a level 40 Araquanid. When Grubbin came around, they had already defeated the Island Kahunas. Free of duty, Lono flew away to continue her education. And her team fought every traveler from Tapu Village to Malie city. Kaipo came to a conclusion. There was nothing left to do in Alola.

Born and raised in the spotlight as the youngest of the Suber family, much was expected from Alexander from a young age. His father a rush champion, his mother with more contests won than most trainers had ever battled. His sister became a regional champion at 16, and his cousin Gloria a renowned pokémon professor by her 18th birthday. The Suber family name just screams, well, super star (or Suber star, as Gloria loves to say).

The Cerulean Bluebonnets, the team established and coached by Alexander’s grandfather and the team his own father led to victory in three regional championships and one world championship. Lucas Suber is a strong contender among fans for the greatest conductor in the sport’s relatively short history. Allie grew up around some of the greatest rush talent in the region, and the world. They were his idols, heroes. None more so than Reginald Harding, Middle Vanguard for the Cerulean Bluebonnets in his father’s day.

As soon as Alex was of age, his father was ecstatic to help him become the next Middle Vanguard for the Cerulean Bluebonnets. This was much to the chagrin of Reggie Harding’s son, Vincent Harding, and the birth of a heated rivalry between the boys. Both Cerulean natives, both water-type trainers, and both coveting Reginald’s former position. After a string of mishaps that cost the team three games and a short lived fist fight, Al left the team in shame.

Desperate to stay in the sport but unwilling to share a team with Vincent, Alexander’s sister helped him secure a tryout with the rush team in Crimson City. The latest gossip has been whether Alex will be able to compete without his already top-tier teammates and his father’s support.

"There's never only one star in the sky."
PROFILE
A steadfast, ambitious, sometimes stubborn child. Before their arrival in Kanto, Reiko never imagined that they would have a Pokémon partner, having lived with a father who wasn't fond enough of Pokémon to let Reiko have one of their own. Oh, they had asked, but they would be met with resistance each and every time, and was told that Pokémon were far too much of a hassle to manage.

Fortunately, the two did share a love of watching PokéRush. Reiko simply enjoyed the sport and how it was played, but their father was a massive fan of the Crimson Caits, at least until they faded from obscurity. Perhaps because of this, Reiko decided that they would figure out a way to bring the Caits back into the spotlight. But their father wouldn't let them play; they'd need a Pokémon for that! Even when they turned 16 and was told that they could explore more of the world outside their front door of Alola, they weren't allowed a Pokémon to accompany them on the journey!

Well, that is, until they landed in Kanto. They ran into someone when they arrived at their new residence, someone who gave them a package.

"Hey, a friend of yours asked me to give you this! Sent it to me the other day!"
"Uh, thanks?"

Upon entering their place and opening the package, Reiko was greeted with a pair of Pokéballs. One contained a goat-like Pokémon with a ring of leaves around its neck, the other contained a small dragon-like Pokémon with scales that clinked and clanged every time she walked.

"Jangmo-o and Skiddo...?"

The following year would be spent settling into Kanto and getting used to their new partners, as well as learning the ins and outs of PokéRush in an effort to get picked up by a team. Reiko didn't really expect any starting roles; they've only played one game so far alongside an equally amateur team. But they did win that game, so...baby steps!

"We'll become the Cavalry, the people you bring in when you need help right away!"

Deacon doesn't play well with others, be it his personality or his unique and unorthodox style. Quite possibly one of a kind, Deacons play-style is a mix of devilish deception and considerable cunning as he and his Pokémon trick their opponents through substituting subterfuge.

Growing up in Mauville Hills, within the bright and shiny city of fun, as the youngest of three brothers, Deacon doggedly tried to get them to hang out with him to no avail which meant he had to find friends elsewhere. But with a persistent and competitive streak already ingrained within thanks to trying to get his brothers attention over the years, it proved a hard task.

Meeting his Voltorb within the bowels of New Mauville at the age of 12, it was love at first sight for the young scamp. An avid fan of Pokerush already but lacking the means to play it due to apartment regulations involving ball games, but now before him was a living, breathing Pokerush ball. With this by his side, there was no way the other kids could refuse to play with him, with most being fanatical followers of the sport like him. But of course a Ball Pokémon is still a Pokémon and a Voltorb is a temperamental one at that so when the inevitable smoke had cleared, Deacon was still friendless and even more alienated than before.

But at least he now had a companion in Voltorb. Forever enamoured with Pokerush, even with no one to play it with, Deacon trained by himself in New Mauville, his loneliness slowly turning to resentment and bitterness, the negative emotions providing ample fuel to push him on. And the flummoxing almost familial bond he shared with his Voltorb; a serendipitous spark that ignited something new, a modus operandi that was as brilliant as it was underhanded. With soot and grime, young Slite painted a band of black across his Pokémon, it's mask of muck mimicking that of a Pokerush ball and thus started a questionable campaign of skill and subterfuge for the pair.

After two years of training alone, Deacon had enough experience to try out for a junior team. Unable to join his local team thanks to his burdening reputation, Deacon had to go further afield to join a squad, settling in with the Dewford Wingulls. And for a while he was happy, impressing the Wingulls with his brilliant bait and switch tactics, his Voltorb swapping seamlessly with the ball and vice versa, confounding their rivals and leading to numerous victories. Throughout the season, Deacon mastered his craft, taking into account the many terrains and weathers that affected the pitch, growing his Pokemon team in consideration.

However Pokerush is a team sport, and with the unavoidable fumbles and mistakes made by his teammates due to his tactics, Deacon played more and more on his own and again a reputation began to develop. Another bad one. Pushing ahead alone, and perhaps enjoying the cheers of the crowd to much, Deacon was eventually kicked from the Wingulls, after finishing mid season in second place.

Developing a bad reputation wherever he goes but unwilling to give up on the sport he loves, Deacon is keeping his eyes out for a team that just cant say no....
