Pokemon can live without humans, too. Professor Evergreen |
Pokemon's Life Without Humans
Story:
Welcome to the only town in Skyblue Island, Skyblue Town! Well, or what used to be it. The town population had been dwindling due to the aging demographics and few reasons to settle. The town became abandoned when Professor Evergreen finished her research on the natural habitat of Mudkips and Treeckos. There really was no reason to stay. Everyone remaining left with her; the professor's aides, Nurse Joy, and the few people still living there.
The last ferry sailed for Slate Port City. With the humans gone, left behind are Pokemons. Some are released by their owners, some are wild Pokemon curious of the silent town. Either way, there is now a whole island for just pokemons, and no humans.
...
Welcome! If the title and the story aren't clear enough, this will be a slice-of-life roleplay about Pokemons in a humanless island. Maybe you are an Incineroar that washed ashore from a ship wreck. Maybe an Alcremie released by the poffin baker before he left the island, or maybe a curious Froslass who climbed down the mountain because the town has suddenly turned silent. Either way, no humans.
Most of the island consist of forest and wetland, but there are extreme places like an arid valley or snowy mountains deep into the island. It makes sense for me so it's good enough. Have your Diglett cave and Unown ruins.
What Pokemon can I use?
While Skyblue Island is located in Hoenn Region, any pokemon is allowed for the roleplay. Pokemon from Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos can reasonably live on the island due to the diverse climate. Alolan and Galarian pokemon might be brought over by other residents or stayed to the island. Hisuian Pokemons are extinct... unless they came from a fossil or something, idk. Make a good story if you want one. Same story with legendaries. Like... why would Tapu Koko chill here.
That said, Mega-evolution will not be possible with the lack of trainer, as is Gigantamax pokemon due to the lack of power spots.
How does moves work in this roleplay?
Refer to the anime more than to the game. Your Pokemon can use any moves it naturally can, plus TM/HM Moves if it was owned by a trainer before or taught by another Pokemon. Also egg moves I guess.
How strong/What level should I make my Pokemon be?
You are either pokemon released by a trainer or a wild pokemon, so just make a rough estimate. It's a slice-of-life RP so I'm not that strict on power level. Personality and story > Power.
Your Pokemon is a Choice Band-holding Strong Jaw Dracovish? Ok that's cute hun mine is a magnemite that rolled out of the ship as it left and is now completely distressed because he can't eat more poffins so he started trying to learn cooking despite having no hands.
How many character/Pokemon can I make?
One is fine, two is cool, I'm hovering my hand over the 'delete rp to erase existential crisis' when you make three. Make as many as you can handle! Side characters and NPCs allowed.
You post once a week with three cute, fluffy paragraphs? Good.
You post every day with another person back and forth and having a scene ahead of everyone else?? Honey I love your enthusiasm but you are giving me a panic attack pls bring that youthful carefree energy somewhere else.
Do I have plot? Haha no. I'll describe buildings or the town or a biome if needed, but make the setting up if you want. Want there to be a Chesto berry tree? Sure. Want an active Nintendo Switch in a living room? Sure.
I'm up for plotting and making scenes together since that's what keeps an RP alive, but I don't have any magical plot line to throw at the RP if energy fizzles out.
Alternatively, I'm up to make for a group of more tight-knit Pokemon that has been together for a while. Pre-established dynamics and relationships are always fun.
Discord? idk. If a majority wants it, I'll make one and make it mandatory. If not, I won't make it since it's a pain.
