Matt Teku was walking around with Lucas, his lucario. He looked around the futuristic scenery of Hub city, which was accurately named. Hub city had a monorail going around to the other towns, a large shopping mall, the largest pokecenter ever made (which was always busy), and the Information center. Around them were many people with their pokemon. "Kind of hard to walk around, isn't it." He said. "Why are we here anyway?" Said Lucas. "I was thinking that we could go to the information center and do some mercenary work. You never know, we might find find a group with a lead to a legendary pokemon." "As long as I get to beat something up..." They eventually reached the Information center and went towards the bounty board.
 
(I thought it might be easier to meet if we knew each, hope it's ok. If not I'll change!)


Dane paced down the street ignoring the traffic and hooting, his head down thinking about it all. He still couldn't believe he ran away, but he had too! His parents, just wouldn't even give it a chance. Why did they have to think Pokemon were only weapons, he knew they were more than that and they could be treated like friends. Not just weapons to fight each other with and hurt others...


He huffed as he turned to see Charmander walking beside him, he was all new to this and Charmander was his first ever Pokemon. He got it at a lab, most labs would give Trainer Pokemon only after a parent's consent and especially not to one so old, but one of the workers heard his story and felt sorry for him. So he gave him one of the more bad behaved Charmanders that no trainer wanted, nor did the Professor want to give out, nevermind the Charmander didn't want anyone.


You see Charmander was a very rough Pokemon, in truth he hates everyone. All humans and all Pokemon, he is mean, aggressive, hateful, plays horrible pranks, burns everyone and everything and never listens to or does what he is told. He wondered if he wasn't given the Charmander just to get rid of it, but either way it was his first Pokemon and he would show his parents they were wrong. He held it's Pokeball in it's hand which was charred black from all of Charmander's flamethrowers at him. Charmander often popped out of his Pokeball to do his own thing, which while rare wasn't unheard of, however he also put himself back into his Pokeball when he was tired of the world, something no other Pokemon has been seen done before.


Suddenly Dane's eyes drifted up when he saw a face that looked familiar...


"Matt..."


He said quietly, this couldn't be the little kid he use to be neighbors with? The one he used to play in the mud with, the one who broke his favourite toy, the one he pushed down the jungle gym... Could it...

Matt didn't notice Dane as he looked at the bounty board. "hmm... There doesn't seem to be any rampaging pokemon right now. That's good, but..." He looked down at Lucas."It doesn't give us a lot to do..." he turned to face the tournament board. "There aren't any rank 3 tournaments going on right now either."


In Seniti, they have developed ranks to determine who should go against each other. There are 4 ranks. once you get your first pokemon, you go into rank one. After your pokemon have evolved 3 times total, you become rank two. Once all of your pokemon have fully evolved, you become rank 3. Rank 4 is an extremely rare rank in which one must be in possession of a legendary pokemon.


As Matt turned around to face the bounty board, he briefly saw someone familiar.


"Dane?"
 
"It is you!"


He walked over to greet him seeing the Lucario, another Pokemon he had never seen before. Truth is he hadn't seen many, he immediately took out his PokeDex to scan it as he got the info on it. He then realized he had initially come there to greet Matt.


"Wow, it's been a long time. You've grown, your not as short, but your still scrawny and your still wearing those weird goggles..."


He smiled as he joked around.


Charmander simply huffed, in annoyance with the whole situation.
 
Kiki walked through the city. Five full Pokeballs bounced in her shoulder bag, the sixth empty in her pocket. Close behind, a tiny Vulpix followed her. Occasionally she spoke to it, just like she would a person. This Vulpix was her first ever Pokemon. She had caught it herself when her brother took her out one time. He battled it with his own Pokemon, then let Kiki, at the time only 5 years old, catch it with her own Pokeball.


Kiki scanned the city with curiousity in her eyes. She had been travelling by herself, well, with her Pokemon, for over a year now. Being as easily distracted as the young girl was, she hadn't made it very far from home. She did, however, have two gym badges, which were also stowed away in her bag. They weren't easy wins, but she had gotten both of them on her first try. She continued to walk through this city, then realized that she was close to the biggest Pokemon center ever built. She smiled and walked into the building, amazed by how big it was, and Vulpix climbed up, wrapping it's small paws over her shoulders so as not to get lost in the crowds.
 
Lucas went on all fours to examine Dane's charmander while they talked.


"Yeah, well, I've been busy lately. I evolved my vibrava into flygon last week and I decided to do some of the rank 3 things." Said Matt, "And the goggles help for when I use attacks like sandstorm."


He usually had only steel types, but his Flygon was special. He got a trapinch as an award for one of his missions. He didn't use him very much, but one of his opponents in the finals of a tournament had him at an elemental disadvantage. He sent trapinch out as his last pokemon. At that point he had given up all hope, but the trapinch somehow managed to beat the last pokemon and win. Since then he decided to officially make him part of his team.


"So, what has happened to you lately?"

"Oooh, Lolly look! Hub city! We finally made it!" Reena cheered, jumping up and down in excitement. She and her pokemon have been traveling for a while, and it was great to finally see civilization. "Careful, Ree." A tiny voice cried out, "If you don't stop that bouncing I'll fall off!" Reena stopped bouncing. "Oops, sorry!" She giggled. She reached up to grab her Gothita, Lolly, who had been resting on top of her head. "There you go," She set Lolly on the ground beside her, then reached into her bag to pull out the four pokeballs that held the rest of her team. She stood up straight and released them all. Her pokemon- Lolly, Espeon, Musharna, Smoochum, and Kirlia -all looked at her expectantly as she paced back and forth in front of them with a serious expression on her face. "Listen up, Ladies." Reena began, "Within that city there are many people. Many people who are in need of entertainment." She stopped pacing to lean close and whisper, "And in need of their pockets emptied of change." Her pokemon nodded happily. "So let's get out there and put on a show!" Reena exclaimed, striking a pose for dramatic effect.


"Step right up, everybody! Step right up! See the amazing Psychic Circus!" Reena shouted. She was standing on a bench by the sidewalk so as to be seen over the crowd. "Watch the graceful ballet of Kirlia, or, if action is more your thing, watch as Espeon leaps, tumbles, and dodges to avoid Smoochum's well aimed attack!" Reena quickly turned to her Musharna, "And cue the special effects!" Musharna closed her eyes in concentration as pink fog began to seep up from the hole in her head, shrouding the whole area in a pink haze. This effect gave the dancing and dodge maneuvers even more crowd appeal. Reena beamed brightly at the mass of people that was beginning to surround the small stretch of side-walk. "How much are you charging for this?" One man ask suspiciously. Reena put on her most innocent expression, "Why, nothing at all, Sir. This is a free show for the entertainment of the people!" She then reached one hand into her puffy sleeve and pulled out a handful of rainbow confetti, which she tossed into the air to rain down on the crowd. This was met by thunderous applause. "Now?" Lolly questioned from beside Reena. Reena flipped into a handstand on the bench so she was eye level with Lolly. This maneuver was met with more applause. "Now." Reena whispered. She bent so that her feet were resting on the back of the bench, then she stood again, giggling playfully and waving to the audience.


Her pokemon continued their show while she added in a few acrobatic moves here and there. The audience was completely engrossed in the performance, just as planned. So engrossed in fact, that they didn't notice the little Gothita that was making her way through the crowd, picking each and every one of their pockets. cleaning out every bit of spare change they had on them. Perfect. "Jeez, These people are loaded!" Lolly's voice echoed in Reena's mind. Her smile doubled as she landed a backflip. They would be eating great tonight!
 
Dane clenched his fists hearing Matt's story. He had to admit he was jealous this kid got to have Pokemon for so long and seemed to have such a long time with already, not to mention so many. He already had done it and was experience.


He then heard Matt's question, how on earth could he answer. Could he just say: Yea I ran away from home and am starting my own Pokemon adventure now against my parent's wishes....


No obviously not, he decided to change topic and steer the conversation away from himself.


"I'm good, wow you sure seem to have a lot of Pokemon. What you looking at?"


He gesture over to the object of Matt's interest only a few moments earlier.
 
"I was looking at the bounty board." Said Matt who gestured towards his lucario, who was still looking at Dane's charmander. "Lucas here naturally likes to battle. We were hoping that there was some kind of trouble around so he could get a chance to fight, although I'm not saying that the lack of problems is bad." Matt looked at Dane's charmander. "Who's that?"
 
Charmander huffed an angry puff of smoke into Lucas' face as he turned away from facing him crossing his arms in an insulting manner, he was getting very annoyed with all these buggers staring at him.


"Oh, that's Charmander. My very first ever Pokemon, he is um.... not very social... at all. I just got him."


He looked to the Charmander who then stuck a tounge out at him and turned away to not face them again.


"Bounty board, maybe you could use a hand. I have yet to battle with Charmander, maybe that will help lighten his mood..."
 
Lucas was angered a bit by the smoke the charmander spat in his face, but he decided that pounding the little lizard into the ground wouldn't be satisfying enough. He looked over to the crowd of people and noticed a small aura weaving in and out of the crowd.


"Alright. Just be sure to look for the ones marked rank 1. And seeing as I don't have anything else to do, I might as well go with you." Said Matt.
 
Dane nodded and began looking for a mission that seemed suitable.


"Any suggestions, I've never done one before so I have no idea what to choose."


He continued to look for one that might jump out at him or for Matt to suggest something.
 
"Well, just pick one that looks really easy. The rank 1 board usually has mischievous pokemon or catch requests, but they have tournaments and other things too..." Matt looked closer at the rank 1 board. Lucas tugged at Matt's pant leg and pointed at one of the mischievous pokemon reports which had a picture of a gothita on it. "I just saw that pokemon in that crowd over there." The gothitia had been reported for being a pickpocket. "This one looks good, and hopefully not to difficult." Matt said as he showed the bounty to Dane.
 
Dane nodded.


"Ok, let's do it! You ready Charmander!"


He pumped a fist at the little Pokemon.Charmander just grumbled in annoyance as he blasted a flamethrower straight into Dane's face, charring it black. He then grumbled again in annoyance, facing away.


"Ok, let's go!"


Dane said with face all black and in pain as he collapsed to the ground.


"Ouch..."


Charmander then walked over and pressed the button on his own Pokeball to return himself and get away from the stupidity.
 
Matt leaned downward to where Dane was lying down. "Okay... Lucas already spotted the pokemon. It's in that crowd over there." He pointed to the crowd watching Reena's performance. "Either someone is going to go in there and detain it, or we could cause a distraction that will cause all of the people to scramble, leaving the gothitia alone. Your pick." He said. "By the way, does he always do that?"
 
"Well since there are two of us, let's do both! You create the distraction and I'll go in and grab it! Let's go!"


He said jumping up and cleaning his face.


"And yes..."


He said in a sad tone in response to Matt's question as he jumped forward eagerly to do his part heading toward the Gothita or at least the direction Lucas indicated.
 
"Wait..." Matt said as he grabbed the back of Dane's jacket. "I doubt that you could fit through that crowd. I was thinking that maybe charmander could go and get that gothita. After all, you want the bounty don't you?" With his other hand he released his Bisharp from his pokeball. "Okay Bishop, you and Lucas are going to help cause a distraction. Both of you go on top of those two buildings and wait for my signal. When I give you a signal, you two are going to fire a focus blast at each other and make a power struggle. Lucas, you are going to lose the power struggle but deflect it into the air by using force palm. Got it?" Bishop nodded but Lucas said, "why does he get to win?" "Because if he fails to deflect it it will do 4 times the usual damage and might make him faint." Matt said. Lucas and Bishop went towards the building.
 
"Ok Charmander, time for some help!"


He threw the Pokeball as the light flashed out and Charmander was released still scowling.


"Now come on Charmander, we need your help, we need you..."


Before he could finish explaining Charmander just crossed it's arms and walked away, making sure to smack Dane in the face with his tail.


"I don't think he is going to be much help... I'll have to do it myself!"


Dane said rushing forward, ignoring Matt.(Don't worry, Dane won't actually do it. I have a plan to get Charmander to do it!)
 
Matt face-palmed and said, "You could try talking to him you know..." Matt walked towards Dane's charmander. "Why are you so hard on him? He's only trying to help, you know." He said, attempting to use his POKEcomm to communicate and maybe make a compromise between Dane and the charmander.
 
Charmander raised his middle claw towards Matt and didn't even bother to look at him as he scowled and glared his eyes.


"No one told him what to do, not ever!"


(He is a nasty Pokemon...)
 
"No one told him what to do? You don't know a lot about humans, do you?" He said. "And who taught you that? I don't think Dane's the kind of person to insult people that way."
 
"It's fine, I think he is too afraid to do it... So I'll do it for him!"


Dane yelled to Matt as he was still heading for Gothita.


Charmander's eyes went wide, he did not just say what he think he said. That little runt of a human was gonna pay and then he was gonna crush that Gothita into dust.


Charmander's tail flame burst into a brighter fire as it roared and he charged forward toward the Gothita full speed.


(I thought PokeComms only allowed one way communication, didn't know you could hear Pokemon's thoughts as well. Think I'm gonna make it so Dane doesn't have one of those yet.)
 
"start charging the focus blasts." Matt said through the POKEcomm to Lucas and Bishop. He then casually walked up to one of the people in the back of the crowd and tapped his shoulder. "Hey, are those two part of the show?" He pointed towards Lucas and Bishop. The man soon pointed it out to someone next to him and so on. Soon everyone was aware of the two pokemon.

Reena stopped mid twirl as she caught sight of the other pokemon. uh-oh... this is not good... She reached into her sleeve and pulled out four pokeballs, holding them in her hands with some difficulty. "Musharna! Kirlia! Espeon! Smoochum! Return, all of you!" Her pokemon nodded then vaporized into a red beam, absorbing back into their pokeballs.


Reena shoved the pokeballs into her sleeve then turned back to the crowd, smiling brightly despite her nervousness. "And that's the end of our show, I hope you all enjoyed it!" She gave a quick bouncy bow, then jumped from the bench. "Lolly! Lolly, where are you?" She scanned the crowd, looking for her little Gothita. She had to find her quick, and they had to get away. It was like this in every town they hit, they never could stay very long. "Reena!" Lolly's voice shouted in Reena's head. Reena turned to the left and held out her arms to Lolly, who was trying her best to run on stubby little legs.


Suddenly, Reena caught sight of an angry charmander charging up from behind Lolly. "Lolly! look out!" Reena yelled.
