Dewey the sobble
"So cool!" Elliot answered G immediately. He was completely fascinated by the alolan vulpix in the girl's hands. He almost didn't hear her next bit of advice.
"Right, Theatre. Thank you! Oh," He turned to the boy he'd interupted and bowed his head. "I'm very sorry for interrupting."
Elliot hung onto every word his senior said, as Dewey the sobble, replied timidly to the boy's vulpix. Dewey explained where he'd come from, and what it was like hiding from Elliot's father who hated pokemon. It was a new chance for both him and his trainer, and he was excited!
Meanwhile Elliot answered G.
"I um, found this sobble." He lowered his voice. "I think he was abandoned by his trainer, but don't bring it up in front of him, it makes him cry..."
He stood back again, "But I'm taking care of him now, and we're best friends."
Elliot was happy to listen to the older students talk, he knew they were talking about video games, but beyond that. His father had always banned them, but maybe here he could finally get the chance to try them.
Just then a strange boy with a cart caught his eye. Noah answered without him having to ask.
"Alto." Elliot repeated. "Um, this might be a dumb question but...he doesn't sell pokeballs does he? I er, forgot to get some before I came and, well, I don't exactly have a pokemon team. I just have Dewey."
It wasn't a complete lie, he didn't forget, but there was no way he could have bought any trainer equipment with his father around.
The sobble looked up at his name and gave Elliot a reassuring smile.
"Oh, I have one last question. Neither of you know where the school records room is...right?"
It was an odd question, and as soon as he asked it he kicked himself for being so obvious.
"I..uh...think there was a typo in my address when I handed in the paperwork."
Oh boy that was a lame excuse...Maybe they won't get curious...He hoped desperately.
