Fandom Pokémon (For Adults) Interest Check!

So if I wanted to work at a gym, would that be a viable option? Be one of the on staff trainers that challengers battle?

Such as, how long for two, how long for three, so on and so forth.

I don't have any set requirements. It's based on what kind of a life your character has led. If they're an active Trainer who wants to capture a bunch of Pokemon instead of only capturing favorites, then they can have a good amount ready and waiting in the wings (I'm thinking between 15-30 Pokemon). If they're more of a passive Trainer who captures Pokemon they want, then probably a more modest number (like 3-8).

But again it depends. You're free to decide what kind of Trainer you want them to be and come up with a store of Pokemon they have if they've been at it for a while. But please do run the final number by me for final approval.

Depends.

Gym Leaders are the Leaders because they are immensely powerful Trainers in this RP who seldom lose a match. The Gym Leader's Challenge is a much more extreme and intense activity than it is in the games or the show, so if you're going to work there then being a top notch Trainer yourself would definitely be a requirement.

Will do when the time comes :)

But I do have another necessary question.
How many Pokemon are the trainer's allowed in their held team? It is just going to be the set six, or something different?

This RP will not limit you to 6 Pokemon. You can carry as many Poke Balls as you have space on your person.

I was thinking maybe, yes, they could only have a certain number with them at a time, and there is some sort of police whose specific job is to regulate this. Kinda like the real police and speeding or DUI. How does that sound?

Because having, say, like 10 Pokemon on you could be potentially disastrous, depending on the person. Someone with like 10 Charizards or Dragonites could take down entire cities if they felt like it.

True in many respects.

However Dragonite is an exceedingly rare Pokemon who not many Trainers have in their possession, and it's illegal to Breed them (and other Pokemon) in captivity. So it's not likely to happen. And having ten Charizards would present a serious fire hazard, but Pokemon Fire Fighting teams are equipped with souped up water Pokemon to fight those fires and any Pokemon causing them. They're quire capable.

But I'll think about your suggestion all the same and decide a bit later whether or not there should be a limit to how many Pokemon you can carry.

Ill-intent is taken very seriously by the Pokemon League, and they would make sure that people like that never became Trainers. People with sketchy backgrounds or criminal records, for instance, are not allowed to become Trainers. There are other measures in place as well, such as the Pokedex which serves as your Trainer's License, but I'll confirm that it's almost impossible for people who would do something like that to become Trainers. And if they did, their Pokedex would be pre-programmed and locked to constantly monitor and broadcast their location and current Pokemon lineup.

Right so probably think of a different profession.

Alright, I get you.
But still, someone could be harboring, say, just hella fire types or ground types, or any types really, and plot destruction. So I just thought that a team limit should be something to be put in place.
*shrugs*

Anyway, I'll be starting my character soon.
