Ya'll ever just have a surge of inspo?? Because my brain just said you're gonna finish the character for this RP + another one.

Ahh! Go you! I love when you get that. I always get mine at 2am in the morning, when you know, I want to sleep.

It's always great to just suddenly be hit with that rush of ideas! Good luck with the characters, I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

I know!! And I hope they're good xD. I have trouble coming up with a solid idea so hopefully, the one use will be good after I scrap the other 5,000, lol.

i relate as well! it usually hits me at the worst times, and then i go to sleep and it's gone sigh

btw i think my character is done, i don't know if he's alright though? haha
somehow my pokemon bio is longer than my trainer bio...

Thanks for telling me, I'll take a look and make my decision.

Okay, just finished with my analysis and there just seems to be a slight problem with some of the items your character has. First is the Pokedex, I cannot allow the Pokedex to be a part of the RP, if you'd like to have some sort of resource of info on Pokemon then you can give your character a beastiary that contains information on Pokemon, it would be the same info just presented in a way that better fits the RP concept (at least in the way that I see it, as I did mention that pokeballs would not be available either). Secondly is the 'rare candies,' I just need some clarification if these are meant to work like the rare candies from the games or if they're something else and the name 'rare candy' is just a little nod to the in-game items. I'll have to ask that you change or remove the item if its the former as I'd rather not allow the use of such items to grow in strength unless found/earned in the RP.

alright, i understand! i can definitely get rid of the pokedex, and i was just thinking of the candies as just... regular candies for him to snack on, so the latter!

I thought pokeballs were available just not many. By the way why isn't this stuff available?

I had gotten the impression that this was a bit more wild/feral type Pokémon RP, so you can’t just put the Pokémon away when they are difficult, You have to really work for their trust and good behavior.

yeah, that's how i understood it too!
i have a question, do the move-learning discs exist? (hms, tms, trs, etc)
and if not, is there any way for nise pokemon to learn moves not learnt by lvl up?

First off, sorry for the late responses, I wasn’t sure if anybody else was going to stop by so I decided to go offline.

Nope pokeballs do not exist in Nise and the reason being because of what Kapowne said.

Yep exactly right! I was interested to see how an Pokemon RP that partially centers around this idea of growth being connected with a trainer’s connection to a Pokemon would go. By making them wilder than they usually are I was hoping to present a challenge that, though difficult and dangerous, would reward you not with a tool or pet but with a friend that could express the same emotions and thoughts as most other people. (And just so happens to be able to breath fire, punch at the speed of sound, teleport, etc.)

Move-learning discs don’t exist but there are alternative methods of obtaining the moves. First there are tutors, incredibly powerful people scattered across the region of Nise each with their own set of moves that they may choose to teach you, as of right now each tutor will have moves focusing around a theme. Then there are also artifacts left by the gods with instructions on learning certain moves, these can sometimes be found being sold in a select few markets but are more commonly found by delving into the ancient ruins of Nise.

Did you mention delving into ancient ruins???? Excuse me while I wipe the saliva dribbling from my mouth....

CommonMalpractice CommonMalpractice
Everything seems good with the character but there is a mistake with froakie’s moves. Froakie should begin with pound and growl as the beginning moves, with one of the following as the egg move:
. Bestow
. Camouflage
. Mind Reader
. Mud Sport
. Water Sport
. Power Up Punch
. Toxic Spikes

I also noticed that froakie used water attacks in the bio, I’m not going to ask that you change that because even if froakie does not have bubble as a move it still has some innate control over the water (maybe not enough for a proper attack but enough to create streams of water and such).

Of course, one constant of many fantasy adventures is exploring dungeons in search of relics and the like. You’ll also find you’re typical fantasy monsters here, goblins, orcs, gargoyles, etc.

Oh okay!! I was debating with Froakie's egg move since I didn't see any listed so I was gonna use a learned move from its parents. But I'll change it!!

AAH that's so cool, i'm in love with those alternate ways of learning moves!

honestly, i've never really understood how those move-learning discs worked haha. do they just a watch a video? or are the discs really just... pressed against the pokemon? surely there should be a chance that they fail to learn a move?

your methods sound a lot more realistic and interesting! this might be pushing it but i just wanted to ask, would pokemon be able to adopt some moves out of their usual movepool? within reason of course.

Yes, actually, if it seems like a move a Pokemon should have then tutors can teach the Pokemon the move, the reason being that learning a move from a tutor involves a Pokemon training to become capable of using the moves a tutor offers. The artifacts, however, do not have this ability because they were created with the intention to be used within the natural order, but the artifacts can be used to teach a move that might take weeks of training with a tutor in a few hours.

This question has reminded me that I've been meaning to ask that anyone who has a question ask it. As of right now the Nise region, its people, and much of the world's lore are a bit of a mystery. I've given very little information and some (looking back at the original post) is a bit unclear, so I'd like to remind everyone that it is no inconvenience to me to answer questions regarding the RP, if it's something that you'd rather send in a PM that is okay as well.

Lastly, I'd like to ask something about a character you'll be meeting at the beginning of the RP. He's going to be a popular Master Trainer who's chosen to take all of you under his wing for a small while just to jumpstart your adventure. The first question is if you'd like a character like this to join you all for the beginning or you'd rather start off a bit more independent. Second is if you'd like information on the character, I've considered creating a character sheet for him and a Pokemon sheet for his signature mon, but I'm not sure if everyone would prefer to not know this info and learn about him through interactions in the RP.

If we’re going to have this master, I would personally like to see some info about him. Only because I’d need to work up a bit more onto my character about how he and his Pokémon become friendly enough to go travel and then train together, and also how they or his guy found each other.

If it brings us together as a group and gets the ball rolling a little quicker, I don't see why he couldn't join us at the beginning! As for information, definitely reveal some key info. Obviously not everything, but like Kapowne said, enough that we know how our characters would be associated with him/how they would interact.

Seems like quite the idea! I wouldn't mind, it'd be great to have someone to help our Trainers out, lol. And it'd be great to have a CS for him, so I have a better understanding of how my character would treat him.
