Giving a range of available times is something I hadn't actually thought of so thanks for the suggestion, but the year or two maximum is a bit much for me. I was imagining that the trainers were maybe familiar with their Pokemon but haven't had the chance to really start training much or to earn much of the Pokemon's trust, so I've had a smaller maximum time in mind. However, if everyone would prefer to have a more established relationship with their Pokemon (or at least to have been with their Pokemon for a longer time) it wouldn't be much of a problem and shouldn't change the RP in any major way.I'd say anytime between just met to maybe even a year or two.
If you're looking for a good fire type with potential forging capabilities then I would suggest the Rolycoly line. The piles of coal that are seen in later parts of the line seem like they could make for a decent on the go furnace.I'm thinking of a fire type, like maybe charmander cause i want my character to be able to forge stuff
Elektross is definitely worth the trouble of training and you should be able to get a good little adventure out of looking for a thunder stone.Thinking of Tynamo for the time being. The end result's gonna pay off.
This poll is a really good idea because I was having trouble figuring out how to do a backstory for my character and Pokémon. Another question, do our characters grow up in this region? And if they are just meeting their Pokemon, is there a professor type character giving them to them? Traditional Pokémon style?
Ok so I got some pokemon chosen that I know for sure I want to use in the rp just trying to figure out which one will be the starter but before I choose I just wanted to double check on something. Does the starter pokemon have to have three evolutions or can we choose one that only have two or doesn't evolve at all?

That's cool I just wanted to double-check before I decided.Well, the official ruling is three evolutions, though I did allow Natu. There are two main reasons I allowed this:
1) Xatu is not a very strong Pokemon when compared to the final evolutions of three stage Pokemon.
2) It works so well with the character that I believe it's worth allowing a two stage evolution and I can't really think of many other Pokemon (with three stage evolutions) that could take its place.
So I may allow a two stage evolution under similar conditions, but Pokemon that do not evolve are not allowed.
Would an eevee work as a starter?
Tbh, since fakemon was allowed I was planning to evolve it into a fighter or maybe even a normal type. Figured that with a fakemon eeveelution I could better choose something on the same powerlevel as the rest of the characters. It would also depend on which evolution you plan on taking or if you even plan to evolve at all, because eevee gets a mega evolution from Pokemon Insurgence.
It's pretty dumb but the general gist of my character was that she was the daughter of an exeecutioner which naturally resulted in her being a social pariah. And her having an eevee is supposed to represent her desire to leave her past behind her and change into something completely different. So if you can provide just a simple character concept so I can get an idea of how well eevee fits in, I'll see if it's something I'd allow.
