If you haven't guessed from the title of this search thread and the overall theme within, I'm looking for a group-styled Pokemon RP. My conundrum? I have too many ideas roaming about my head. This thread is intended to serve as an interest check - while I have information regarding my three main RP ideas below, they have in no way left the development phase. Instead of fleshing out all three settings, I've decided to consult you - the RPNation community - on which concept(s) I should turn into a functioning RP. Each idea is unique in its own way, and whichever one(s) garner(s) the most feedback/interest will be made into an active RP. I've broken the rest of this post into four key sections: 1) a comparison table summarizing each concept, 2) a section dedicated to further explaining the Tournament setting, 3) a section dedicated to the Journey setting, and 4) a section for the Academy setting. Additionally, sections have been made for miscellaneous information/questions and a running interest tally. Feel free to read through any - and/or all - at your leisure. If any of these ideas catch your eye, please let me know! Is this overkill? Probably, but I have a method to my madness. Let's hope it works. |

Unique battle styles will be implemented - including team battles and type-specific showdowns - alongside a plot delving into the past - and future - of the competition. No Pokemon story is complete without the presence of mal-intent. |
| Adventure"The start of a Pokemon Journey is the start of a new phase in life. Trainers set out for various reasons with various goals in mind. Are they aiming to become the region Champion, to become the top Coordinator, to study Pokemon in the wild? Some just want to taste new foods and find vacation spots. Whatever the reason, one thing is certain: adventure awaits." This is a take on the more traditional Pokemon Journey. Players will be able to play as trainers exploring one of the pokemon regions - which region, I've yet to determine - and decide how they want their tales to play out. Options exist for keeping this more free-form or adding some DnD-type elements - like dice rolling to help determine wild Pokemon encounters - to aid with progression. Subplot implementation and participation optional. |
| Academy"Grandview Academy is a prestigious private institution dedicated to the education and development of youths. The trainers who enter its halls come with a singular goal in mind: to unlock their full potentials. With numerous on-site facilities and a capable and dedicated staff, no student is given the option to fail." School-styled Slice-of-Life meets the Pokemon universe in this plot idea. Within it, I'll be taking a few liberties to alter the qualifications for trainers to embark on Pokemon journeys. (See: proper education.) Over all, this RP will focus on the life of trainers - be they students, professors, or otherwise - on the campus of a multi-grade level educational insitution. |
