History: Gale was originally a Wild Pidgey that later evolved into Pidgeotto on his own but then met Glacier. The two were friends at first then Gale wanted to come along with Glacier.

HISTORY​

Early Years
Born to the gym leader pair of Tyson and Elisa, Leo had as good a start to life as anyone could ask. His parents were loving and provided Leo with anything he could ever need. Their gym in Tier Town was sat atop the steppes the Town was named for. Leo would often sneak out when he parents weren't looking to take in the amazing views available to him. In these early years he developed a love for pokemon that went beyond simply inheriting his parents interests, Leo felt a connection to even the wildest of pokemon. This feeling still sticks with him.

Teenage years:
While other parents were letting their children run off and catch pokemon, Leo's parents were much less willing to let their son miss school. So while his friends all ran around with pokemon, Leo had to focus on his studies. While he protested and even stropped a few times, as he grew older he understood. His grades surpassed much of his class and it gave him something to fall back on if a life with pokemon didn't work out. On his seventeenth birthday his parents told him that he would start working in the gym on his eighteenth birthday, with a view to take over from them once he turned twenty. Leo wouldn't be too ashamed to admit he cried, even his mountain of a father shed a tear or two. There was joy amongst the family as Leo jumped at the proposal...however that joy would not last.

Recent Happenings:
Leo's eighteenth birthday approached and there was a knock at the door. Representatives from the Pokemon League arrived to tell his parents that the license for their gym had been revoked. Cyrus Moore, CEO of Agracorp, had made the League an offer they couldn't refuse and bought the rights to run the gym in Tier Town. Since founding Agracorp, Cyrus Moore had brought a lot of business to Tier Town, so much so that it was technically more city than town. That aside, Leo and his parents were devastated. They were allowed to keep the premises they had built but could not operate it as a Gym. Leo's eighteenth birthday came and went, his parents trying to decide what to do. They eventually settled on turning the old gym into a pokemon sanctuary. They offered Leo a place to help them but he was too upset and angry at what had happened.

After a few months past, Leo woke up one day to the sound of a loud, high pitched wailing. He rushed to the main hall where the majority of pokemon were looked after and there he saw hsi parents trying to console a small pokemon. Approaching carefully Leo moved between his parents and crouched down to the small creature. It's wailing caused his ears to ring but he persevered, beginning to gently stroke the pokemon he recognised to be a Noibat. Within moments the pokemon stopped crying and leapt up into Leo's chest, gripping firmly to his shirt. Without effort, Leo had caught his first pokemon. Since that day the pair are close to inseperable with Noibat being very protective and somewhat jealous of other people. In the months that followed Leo focussed on planning what to do with his life after what had happened.

With his nineteenth birthday out of the way Leo approached his parents and told him that he wanted to travel for a while, hopefully catch a few pokemon and then return home to challenge the league. He wanted to prove that no amount of money can build the relationship a trainer and their pokemon need to succeed. Tyson and Elisa gave their son their blessing and promised to help fund his travelling with the wealth of savings they had. Soon after Leo and Noibat set off, their first destination, the Alolan Festival.

At first glance Leo genuinely didn't know what to think of Luna, he had never seen one person have so much hair. Jokes aside, he took to her really well when they first met, even if she was a little bit 'out there' compared to 'normal' people. Even so, everyone has their quirks and Leo sees them as the things that make everyone unique.

  Abandoned and raised unconventionally, it's no wonder as to how Luna became the odd mold that she is. She's rather introverted and seems reluctant to give much thought to socializing - she does not have 'snow white syndrome' and try to tame every animal out there, she claims it goes against her common sense. She is notably responsible in that she will make an effort to keep people from getting themselves killed, and rarely finds herself in those situations because she follows her own rules, which are basically don't do anything stupid and mind your own business. She is not a risk taker, nor does she go out of her way to tempt fate -- she considers the cards she's been dealt crap, but has tried to fix it herself and doesn't want to screw up what she has.
  
  She has a personal bubble and dislikes uninvited entry, she also isn't a fan of physical touch. She may quote random poetry if it fits the situation. Isn't very fashionable - she dresses rather androgynous, and thinks clothes are a waste of money, most of her things are hand me downs from other students.

  Aluna was born in a sketchy motel outside of Hau'oli cemetery - her birth parents were no where to be found, disappearing and leaving her to the motel manager, a grouchy old man who was her influence for years before he sent her to the academy at ten years old where she would spent the rest of her adolescent years. There she was taught quite a bit -- she had tried to drop out multiple times, but was always found halfway down the rout and dragged back to the school. She was known for her smarts, but also her attitude -- she had the friendliness of a tentacruel, and the bark of a houndoom. She spent any time she could alone, wanting nothing to do with neither people nor pokemon.
  
  She managed to graduate with flying colors, and got a job as a messenger girl which has enabled her to do a lot of lone traveling to no cost of her own. At the moment she has docked in Alola yet again, taking a small break from her usual routine.

  Sylvi is an understanding, brave, honest, and down to earth girl, but with these strong and good traits there are also bad ones. Sylvi’s bad traits are how terrified she is of the world around her, how she hides her depression and anxiety, and how she pushes people away by accident. Sylvi tries to keep her appearance and personality up as a tough girl exterior but she’s really sensitive even though she denies it. Honestly, she’s your average run of the mill teenage girl trying to get stronger with her pokemon by any means necessary. She's very emotionally damaged and her pokemon can feel this even though she tries to hide it.

  Sylvi was born to two pokemon rehabilitators and rancher parents on the outskirts of Malie City taking care of many pokemon and ones that the pokemon center didn’t have room for. Because of this, Sylvi is very familiar with many pokemon species and how to care for them. Sylvi has been helping her parents at the ranch since she was able to carry a bucket around. Sylvi is also the youngest of six children and because of this she was also allowed to roam far and wide as long as she had a pokemon with her, which consisted of her parents pokemon (an Arcanine, Tropius, Trevenant, Taurus, Houndoom, and Delcatty). With one of these pokemon, Sylvi explored the giant ranch and even past the fence line despite the protest of the pokemon that she was with.
  
  Sylvi went on adventures every day with the pokemon (mainly Arcanine or Houndoom) until one day when she was out and Arcanine quickly picked her up and carried her back home where smoke filled the air. Arcanine sat Sylvi down at the fence line and jumped into the fire, saving her parents and other pokemon. Watching the terrifying scene frightened Sylvi who watched how quickly the place she grew up and loved more than anything quickly became nothing but ashes. From the flames she also saw members of an organization trying to catch the pokemon that lived there. It was here where Sylvi saw members of the evil organization cornered an Eevee and was trying to catch it. With all of the courage that she had left in her body, Sylvi picked up nearby rocks and threw them at the people who turned to her and began to threaten her and challenged her to a battle. With no pokemon, how can you battle? “Sylvi! Houndoom, go!” Quickly, her mother’s Houndoom jumped between she and the evil human member who growled and barked loudly, causing the Eevee to run between Sylvi’s legs. The battle raged on between her parents pokemon and the evil organization members until the sun peaked over the horizon.
  
  With the sun coming up, the evil organization left with her mother’s Delcatty, Tropius, and Taurus as well as her father’s Trevenant. It was from that day forward that Sylvi swore that she would put an end to all the evil organizations that she can. The only positive from that night was her gain of her now partner pokemon Eevee who she named Synna. Synna and Syvli are incredibly close and the small pokemon never leaves her side.
  
  It was only a few years later, actually recently, that she was training with her Abra that Team Skull stole her Abra that was close to evolving due to it's rather abnormal psychic powers.

  Aurelia will usually wear the outfit in the picture if she can. Her cloak ends about halfway down her thighs and she wears a green (same shade as the inside of her hat) skirt with ruffles which only covers her legs slightly lower than her cloak. She also wears knee high black boots and long green socks that are longer than knee height.

  Aurelia is selfish, outspoken and impulsive with an eye always looking out for fun. She is extremely flippant and overbearingly confident in her demeanour, actions and dialect. Aurelia has grown an ego over the years, one of the main reasons being her talent in sketching as well as the large sum of money she’s made off of it, this has led to an obsession with status. Any quantifiable way that she can prove to anyone she is above them will be something she desires. Self-important, greedy and even somewhat condescending are all traits she displays that stem from her ego. Aurelia truthfully has trust and commitment issues, though that doesn’t stop her from acting charismatically when interacting with strangers and friends alike.
  
  Though cool, calm and collected under most circumstances, on the inside Aurelia struggles to deal with situations involving extreme sadness upfront and tries her absolute best to keep relationships with anyone in her life distant. As a result, in more serious times she tends to automatically shut any genuine side of her off and try anything to hide any sadness.
  
  Despite all the negative things about her Aurelia is still an enthusiastic and talkative person, a smile or a smirk on her face seemingly no matter what. On top of this, Aurelia is a very loyal companion towards those who treat her well. Though expect her to still be a bit of a self-centred jerk should you ever reach that level of friendship with her.
  
  Ultimately the best way to describe her would be a confident, happy-go-lucky, arrogant jerkass who strives to keep an unfeeling and uncaring persona up at all times but also someone who may just surprise you when you really need a good listener.

• A love child of people who’d only met once, Aurelia was immediately burdened onto her mother at birth, with her father nowhere to be seen. Aurelia’s mother wasn’t completely cold towards her daughter, though even at a young age Aurelia could feel the disinterest her mother had in their relationship. Aurelia grew up to have a distant connection with her mother, she spent so much time as a child trying to win her over and equally as much time failing to do so. Aurelia looked up to her mother, she didn’t have anyone else, it wasn’t uncommon for Aurelia to emulate her behaviour and traits in attempts for affection. It took time but eventually Aurelia accepted how her mother felt and grew the unfeeling persona she has now as a result.
  
  Despite all the negativity, Aurelia’s mother was the person who gave her the love for drawing she has today, sketching together being the one thing her mother seemed to enjoy doing with her.
  
  Aurelia's mother was a store cleric in the Pokemon centre in Castelia City, a busy job that didn't pay the best, Aurelia spent a lot of time in the Pokemon Centre as a result. At any given time she’d be practicing drawing, watching her mother charismatically sell some items to customers or talking restlessly to trainers coming in and out of the Centre about their journies. Talking to these trainers, Aurelia had set her heart on wanting to have a Pokemon of her own.
  
  When Aurelia came of age to start her own journey, her mother didn't want her going off on her own. After much back and forth between the two, Aurelia's mother finally compromised and let Aurelia adventure in something called the Entralink, it seemed safer than the regular routes of Unova and it was there that Aurelia met SmileySmirky after seeing her in a dream.
  
  Time passed and the allure of the Entralink died down for Aurelia and she decided to put her talent of drawing to use by drawing and selling maps, slowly but surely she was able to slightly help her mother out financially. Everything seemed to be going alright for the two of them until Aurelia turned 17, that was when her father came home. For whatever reason, he decided he'd try to take custody of Aurelia after disappearing from her life. After he was repeatedly denied custody by Aurelia's furious mother during a heated argument in the middle of the night, he left in a fit of rage. Aurelia only heard the argument through her room’s wall- frightened and not daring to leave. That night Aurelia decided she needed to move out of her mother’s house, that way her father would have no reason to ever bother her mother again.
  
  Both reluctantly and with some relief, Aurelia’s mother agreed to this idea and soon Aurelia had bought a place in Striaton City and set up a map shop, using the idea of a witch outfit to give the place a unique and fun selling point by selling her personality as well as her maps to her customers. It was sometime during this that Aurelia met Mr.NoEyes outside the DayCare on route 3.
  
  As Aurelia aged the business in Striaton began to pick up, Aurelia’s skills and charisma became somewhat renowned in the city, though so did her seemingly unreasonably high prices and tendency to have zero leeway on them no matter what. Earning herself her two similar sounding yet very different nicknames amongst customers with varying opinions on her.

Appearance Quirks: Bella has quite a small build, standing around 5'1 and being what could reasonably considered as petite. She doesn't seem to put much effort into dressing particularly fancily and generally wears a hoodie with a plain t-shirt and jeans, or shorts if it's hot outside.

Personality: Bella is generally a pleasant enough person, and takes efforts to be kind to others and treat people with respect. She is however not the most comfortable in social situations, being quite shy and nervous at first. This is compounded by her generally being quite an anxious person around some things. She wants to have friends, however, and once she is brought out of her shell and becomes confident enough, she is something of a jokester and a loyal friend. Due to her very close upbringing to them, she loves Pokemon, to an extent perhaps more than people. She is the kind of person that if she went to a party, she would sit in the corner stroking the hosts cat rather than socialize. Bella really can't stand injustice and will vehemently take a stand against it when she sees it. In that same vein she hates bullies and the like.

Bella was born and grew up in Ambrette Town in Kalos. Bella's mother was originally from Kanto and was a leading scientist in the region, specializing in the study of fossil Pokemon. During a research trip to Kalos to study the unique fossils there, her mother met her father, who was a Pokemon Breeder from a prominent family in the region and the two fell in love, her mother moving out to the region full time. Bella and her older brother spent the majority of their childhood on their father's farm, which, among a number of other species, had grown to include a fair number of fossil type Pokemon in the time since her parents married, helping her mother to study them in a more natural environment than a lab. It was on the farm that Bella first met the Tyrunt that would become her partner Pokemon, striking up a fast friendship with the young dinosaur. Growing up, Bella tended to spend a lot of time in the farm with her Tyrunt and the other Pokemon bred their and not so much time with other kids from school, not really having many close human friends.

Recently, Bella's mother found herself with an opportunity to travel to Alola on a research trip to study the potential links between the Pokemon Lycanroc and fossil Pokemon. Feeling a lack of time spent with her daughter, Bella's mother offered to take her with and Bella accepted, not having anything else to do over the summer. Before they left, her brother presented Bella with one of the first Pokemon eggs he had bred himself, being a little older than her and already starting to participate in the family business. They left for Hau'oli City, and shortly afterwards the egg she was given hatched into a Zorua. Soon after this, Bella's mother, growing tired of seeing her just sitting around at home not really doing anything, persuaded her to head out on an adventure to explore this new region and to train up her new Pokemon somewhat.

Her most noticable features are her gentle and kind eyes (but something is off about them now), long black hair as dark as the night that reaches to the back of her knees when not in a ponytail. She also seems to wear a uniform of sorts that is as white as snow with gold accents that she seeminglessly keeps clean.

  Everly keeps her composure no matter what happens and tries to stay calm even in the most dangerous of circumstances. Over her years of being on this planet she has seen many things and experienced things most others haven't. She speaks with a sense of superiority about her that makes people not very fond of her, but she doesn't mean anything bad by it, it's just the way she speaks. She's very kind and gentle to all pokemon and loves and cares for them all deeply. For people however, she has somewhat of a sunny disposition about them.   Azazel is the daughter of Gluttonfang City's Gym Leader, Baal. The Gym specializes in Dark-type Pokemon, something that Azazel came to love. Azazel trained under her father, learning the ins and outs of Pokemon battles until she was allowed to substitute her father in Gym Battles when he had reason to be away. That was when she learned something...
  
  ... When she tried substituting for him, the Gym's Pokemon would not obey her and just did whatever they pleased, which her father eventually discovered. She believed that there was something about her that prevented Dark-type Pokemon from obeying her, and thus, her father decided to remove her from take-over duty and give her a Pokemon to raise on her own and bond with - a Corphish. This Corphish, now her best friend, joins her in a journey to venture the region, as she is still determined to succeed the gym and thus wishes to hone her skills. As a bit of a parting gift, her father handed her one more Pokemon - a Skorupi, feeling worried that she might not manage with the traditional one-starter that most others start with.

He seems to know a thing or two, but does not explain where his knowledge comes from -- it is limited, however, and that is one thing that keeps him going, what more can I find? Personality: Harper is a fairly quiet girl, but likes to have a conversation with anyone who strikes one up with her. Why Are You?
Harper grew up in Snowpoint City, Sinnoh. She lived with her mom and dad as an only child. Snowpoint was the only place she had ever known, so she is very acclimated to the cold. When she was little she was extremely adventurous. A family friend named Parker would always take her hiking with him on the surrounding mountains. Because he was an experienced hiker, he had been around the Sinnoh region and knew it well. He got Harper her first pokemon, Pichu. A few years after that, she got a Piplup from the professor to begin a real journey on her own, but unfortunately her dad had to move them to the Alola region because of his work. The hot temperature is still something they all have to get used to!

• Backstory
  
  Maya was born in Slateport City and raised by her father, Andrew Rafi. Her father was a sailor by trade and was out to sea for months at a time. From a young age Maya took care of herself, only rarely being checked in on by her father's friends and their neighbors. When her father was home he would show Maya the pokemon he had seen and captured on his voyages. Then before he set sail again, Andrew and Maya would travel to Littleroot and give the pokemon to Professor Birch for study. Maya spent most of her time while her father was at sea lounging along the beaches near her home and exploring below the waves. It was in these waters that Maya first met Wilhelmina.
  
  Wilhelmina was a young Wailmer who migrated with her pod close to Slateport City. Maya and this Wailmer became fast friends and would swim together all day. Maya would continue to live this carefree life for years. That was until several weeks ago when Andrew's ship returned with sad tidings. Andrew Rafi had been lost at sea when the ship was suddenly overtaken by a series of rogue waves. Whatever pokeballs Andrew had on hand were presumed to have been lost as well, save one. Maya inherited this pokeball and discovered that her father had caught a Mudbray. After researching the species she found that it was a native of the Alolan Region.
  
  Determined to search for her father, Maya booked passage on a ship and set sail for Alola. Along the way Maya was alerted to a pokemon trailing the ship. It turned out that it was Wilhelmina, upset that Maya would leave without her. Maya bought several pokeballs off a sailor and tossed one at Wilhelmina. The Wailmer seemed happy to come along with Maya and spent most of the trip swimming along with the ship. It was several days ago that her ship docked in Hau'oli City. Maya decided it was best to scout out the city before continuing her investigation. Her arrival just happened to coincide with some local festivities.

  Diana is someone who can't stay in a spot, finding the utmost difficulty to. She's the type of girl who would rather do whatever she wants. That is not to say that she won't listen to advice. She will, actually, it's just that she'll likely reject the advice of complete strangers while accepting that of those who have her respect and vice versa. To call her a battle nut would be an understatement.

• Diana was born of the ancient, woman-only Undina Tribe, spoken in myth and legend of the Urubii Region. Some speak of them worshipping Keldeo as another three clans worshipped other Swords of Justice, other speak of them worshipping Kyogre as another worshipped Groudon, but aside from that, little is known about them beyond what is spoken of them in tales, as if they are modern-day cryptids, but a lot will be known about her specifically.
  
  Diana left her home, quite literally swimming away from it, claiming that she was disallowed from entering the outside world for unspecified reasons relating to her being unable to 'prove her worth'. This thing about 'proving her worth' had to do with grace and elegance, something Diana was not fond of. She wanted her own path in life. But what she didn't realise was the contrast between the technological modern world and her traditional, isolated archipelago.
