This would mean the world to me, I don’t have the money for paying the actual pre-college scholarship (5,000 dollars!) but this is one of my top colleges and I would love to go visit campus free of charge and see what’s up. I know it’s far-fetched, and I didn’t submit a drawing (a written entry), but it takes one click and means so much to me
”I once fell in love with a girl who wove tales from charcoal-dusted hands about creatures she’d never seen, while monsters she’d never met left her no peace when 3 a.m. tasted of black coffee and looked like dark magic. The morning set her alarm with exuberant aptitude, but the quilts whispered “it can wait”. Some days she ran towards the sun; breathing in kisses from the sea breeze, and chasing someone else’s footprints in the sand as though to tell someone else’s story. Others, she burned from the inside as smoke came out her eyes and onto the paper in a grayscale massacre. Plucking the blues in C-sharp minor on her broken heartstrings became a habit when motivation lent her no aid, when the pencil did not create what she pictured, or when the world became too loud. But she always found inner-peace, be it a day, a week, or even a year. The vibrancy built up within her, coursing through her veins, and fluttering in the pit of her stomach. Color brought to life the ideas her flourishing imagination as words and thoughts blossomed into art. Somewhere else, she saw only the shades of silver and gold in some distant land where the wind whispered soft lullabies as tinkling bells rang low. Figures she’d seen before took her in the embrace of creativity, as she bubbled over in such a bliss that the pencil never stopped moving and she fabricated life. “
